  1. What is potential in terms of Taoist practices?

Chi. Why use a concept in the first place? You yourself are the mystery. You cannot demystify yourself. It's not logical. (Spock) I know you are totally sincere. All that is required for people under these circumstances is to find the approach to suit their predilections. What do the enlightening teachers say? You have a tough row to hoe, mon ami…❤ Enlightenment is seeing the causeless mystery as you, not as a person, but as the homeland of nothing-whatsoever— this IS you even now. If you had already seen your nature, you would no longer try to fit entry into the inconceivable, the ineffable, into another explanation. There is no explanation. All the enlightened teachers and prior illuminates have left us various programs and taoism is no different. The science of essence and life is a device. JUST a device. Reality, complete reality is already your own nature. There is no other science, no other mind. It's you. And when you realize that for the first time, you won't be hanging around being it because of one simple fact… There is no thing, and it's not empty. Actualizing this is not just a matter of a single shining instant. It's not even enlightenment. Enlightenment is just an evidence of efficacy in terms of harmonization with the tao in reality. It only happens once, not twice. Why? It's your own mind. This mind of yours is already the world, and this world is already your own mind. The entire spectrum of gradual and sudden beyond distinctions is your mind without remainder. Mind isn't your thinking capacity. I have no idea what reality could possibly mean to you, in spite of all these years, Chi. ed note: add everything below first line; typo in 9th line; add penultimate line
  2. What is potential in terms of Taoist practices?

Who wants a pit digs a pit …(I doo the pole) heeheehee!!❤❤ Lez go over it again, men~ In terms of essence, THERE IS NO PERSON. In terms of potential, THERE IS NO CHANGE. In dealing directly with essence, potential is kept intact. If you do anything with it, IT'S NOT POTENTIAL ANYMORE. Everything else the stylist charges to props and wardrobe. If it's bolted down, It gets hosed off before the next show. That should cover it. Any questions? ed note: add some meat
  3. a Purpose

A bum PM'd about a purpose for applying effort… hi Vous❤ I believe you. Realizing your own mind without thinking thoughts is worthy of an authentic development of natural human being. Is that a "purpose" you can carry out? Our human mentality has become the center of it's own attention. Do you believe it? It's true. Don't believe its contents though. It exists by virtue of this doing of its reflective activity— its self perpetuating habit-energy. The only way to discover sanity in the midst of insanity right now is to practice observing the mentality that thinks itself into existence. You simply cannot stop it by stopping it— that has proven to create insanity where there was none in the first place. In observation of mind, often you will be taken along with the flow of thoughts time and time again. Just be unminding in the face of relentless habitual mental activity. The real you has the will. Will is the function of intent— it is outside the organization of the false identity of the follower of thoughts. Will to observe the flow and ebb of the human mentality without anticipating its mania or malaise. Observe its boredom with equanimity. Observe it all for no reason at all. There is no point to enlightenment as it is your mind already. Ultimately, the human mentality cannot stand up to an endless, unbending open sincere intent of nonpsychological observation into the habitual activity of its own ego-sustaining psychological momentum. Surrounding the source of its own habit-energy with a 360˚ mirror will eventually result in a wonderful little *poof* of oblivion for that pesky thinker. It's no use anticipating that, though. Don't give up. Exactly when it seems as though you are gnawing on an iron spike, just then is the most important time to persevere, and the bottom of the bucket will drop off. The fact that this is done for no reason at all is the pièce de résistance of observation of mind. Ego cannot stand up to this relentless device. Resolve an unbending intent for the hell of it to just observe all states or non-states of minding mind. If you can lightly and good-naturedly with a firm yet gentle unbending intent enter into this mode of nonpsychological observation of habitual mental activity for a long, long time, eventually this human mind consisting of habit-energy will crap out in a most wonderful way. There is no point at all. The most wonderful way is a matter of the human mentality reverting to its inherent nature, whereby nothing is gained by its realization. There is nothing else I can tell you other than to study the classics suited to your particular predilection without projecting yourself into the source of the words or their ultimate meaning. I say this because the classics were written by enlightening beings to express that which can only be recognized by enlightening beings. Forget ideas. They are the dregs. Observe mind whether or not it is there without following it unawares. It will trick you a million times. Just start over with observation a million-and-one times and smile at the Mona Lisa while drilling holes through granite with your unbending purposeless intent. This is the most purposeful purposelessness I can recommend, mon ami.❤ ed note: add "psychological momentum in 5th paragraph
  4. a Purpose

I stole both the images, Green Tiger. They are somewhat characteristic expressions in certain Chan schools— aren't they superb images!! "The bottom of the bucket" as well as "the skin-bag" dropping off are both ancient euphemisms for seeing your nature, or the moment when the conditioned identity of the temporal personality ceases to exist and sudden realization of one's own selfless nonoriginated awareness as the true identity of reality occurs. "Gnawing on an iron spike" may have originated in China, or Japan— or it may have come with Bodhidharma… I don't know. But certainly the advice to "pour on the fire of concentration" when exactly the time one feels like it's just like this is the most important thing to remember. People asking why this is so seems natural enough~ I guess it is essentially the same as the famous question made of Sir Edmund Hillary upon returning from his and Tensing Norgay's successful ascent of Chomolungma (Mt. Everest) in 1953, "why do you climb mountains?" (I have been on a few alpine epics myself and have been guiding professionally for many years)… When perhaps it seems there is no reason to be persevering, it is the best time to persevere. Why? There is absolutely no reason to think of. Which is the point, after all— the absolute's pervasion of the created is causeless. There is no reason for this utter mystery. It is so, and no one knows why. It is so utterly glorious. I suppose also in terms of harmonizing with the source of the totality of one's being, which has never fallen into the reasonable, the audacity of penetrating the tastelessness of the singularity of persevering for the sheer hell of it, is what it takes to get to the point of shedding the impostor of self and resonating with and producing the response of the unattributable in oneself. So yes, "poofage" haha!! is oblivion of the conditional façade and arrival of the absolute within the absolute. Yes, that is so funny about her being surprised that her special gifts were not the norm!! I myself do not have any gifts of that nature, I have the simple gift of a type of wonder which penetrates by virtue of wordlessness. There is nothing to know~ and it is so wonderful. There is another ancient expression, "the limit of the limitless". I like that one too. It speaks of arriving at the extremity of perseverance which finally breaks through to our own point of incipient natural centeredness, which has no location or beginning. With this purpose at hand, those with the predilection to penetrate wonderous mysteries, the sextant of pointlessness becomes a guiding light in terms of choosing the path with heart for no reason at all besides reaching for the wonder of it all.❤
  5. bad energy , negative attacks, what to do ?

suninmyeyes put a smiley face there in her OP for a reason as it does in fact pertain to the shenanigans that go on here on this forum to certain individuals from time to time. So it's not an accident, therefore, that… CT wrote: The fact is that those who do fail to see the work involved also fail to see reality, and this then contributes to the spiral of delusion as action by those unable to see as they react to the response-body of those who do see, on this forum. When faced with karmic ignorance the long-tongued are not biased in terms of advance or withdrawal. The response is up to the situation. In terms of Padmasambhava's "self-refreshing pristine awareness", Hongzhi's "Amid all the noise spontaneously emerge transcendent." —is not merely the province of the absolute; therefore, in terms of suninmyeye's "What to do" OP… the expression of "wisdom-knowing emptiness" is inherent in the situation itself for those who can see. We have seen, here, on this forum, the idiocy and imaginatively vindictive actions by those CT knows all too well perpetrate— and the months and years (and name-changes) these evolutions have produced. Mirror, mirror, on the wall~ who is the fairest of them all? Dealing with ignorance here on this forum is a matter of standing by the door and gate of the mysterious female, where one abides in self-refreshing pristine awareness, and so amid all the noise, spontaneously emerge transcendent. "All the noise" is changes. "Spontaneously emerge transcendent" is not being subject to changes, in terms of seeing potential inherent in the situation itself. CT wrote:
  6. a Purpose

I found another of my "so what" responses, BD…❤ From http://thetaobums.co..."golden flower" Then people may ask, But why? I say neither good or bad, reality is the basis of enlightened qualities inherent in oneself. There is no thing inside or outside. Why not find out for oneself what this no thing is? Ultimately, it is a solitary vision of impersonal unity, selfless desire unknowing, boundless and free, subsuming within sameness. It's the party raging within your own skull before your parents were born. Turning your focus around is itself enacting inherent enlightening qualities outside of self and other unbeknownst to anyone. The situation itself determines, is complicit within and without, the focus never having been focused before this instant. This is spontaneity. How free is that? Freedom, spontaneity…eh~ hahaahha!!❤❤
  7. sigh…❤ Just the fact that people can hear these words is immense. Since it is so, that people can then see the hidden naturally doesn't change its agreement with the literal. So literalists take heed! Since agreement is already the pattern of reality, there is no need to stick to rote understanding. Riddle and symbolism is how the literal is an opening in the duct of unspeakability, so wonderfully illustrated by goatguy.
  8. What is potential in terms of Taoist practices?

Chi D completely missed the boat in post #2 in his response to the OP. Now if mr Chi had had the slightest spec of insight into potential, he could have had himself a heyday. Just this much is hopefully a HUGE window into mr Chi's practice in general and his literalist take on the venerable tradition of Complete Reality tradition (his supposed new religion). Why didn't you just say potential in terms of taoist practice is the essence of reality? In terms of essence, THERE IS NO PERSON. In terms of potential, THERE IS NO CHANGE. Why has mr Chi never once come up with cogent responses pertaining to these basic tenets of taoist practice in over five years of my letters on just this one subject? These aren't even practical applications of taoist practice, but still— in terms of energy work, inner alchemy and disciplines of contemplation~ "the highest potential is to be a better person mentally and physically. Period." Goddamnit, man— ya left out the spiritual part. WTF? Why? Because mr Chi could never give it a name (he still can't) …but now that he has his new religion to believe in and apply himself in terms of the letter in a whole new vista of real meaning (no doubt from Chinese texts), he has a new emperor's wardrobe to admire himself in. For crying out loud, Chi, why does it always have to be about you and your intellectual identity trying out new meanings to believe in? It doesn't matter if you can translate Martian Telepathy— if in spite of all the sincerity in the universe, (which Chi has, by the way) if one has no knowledge of the basis or have an inherent affinity with the organic process involved, hell, even if I put you in one of my corsets and garters et al, and fluff you up like a freshly-washed choir-boy until you sing "hosanna in the highest", it still won't work in this lifetime. "Even if you steam sand for beginningless kalpas, you'll never get rice." To quote a Japanese rock-climber from a past lifetime… "Get down from there!! You look ugly!!" ed note: add a "y" in paragraph 6, "hosanna in the highest" in the 9th
  9. Autonomy

Evidently there is a high-key, softly lit and mild-mannered magician amongst us who claims to like transforming energy and even recycling it (in terms of dealing with bad energy and negative attacks per suninmyeyes recent thread). How wonderful to hear of claims of wonderment and ingratiating airs of goodness. Even by PM, this individual comes up empty in terms of any application of these transformational powers, its source, his basis of practice, discipline or relative tradition. This one has no dirt sullying his countenance, only a wishful indictment imploring for the way it once was (whatever that means). My response to that ploy was, "This is now". I understand very well the difficulty in joining a group, but it is even more difficult to maintain an autonomy and operative effect in the aftermath of forming bonds. First off, I would like to offer that anyone who would be dealing with created energy is already no different than any ordinary run-of-the-mill worldly magician juggling delusions and making a shell-game of illusory circumstances a business to suit speculative or avoidance strategies. Autonomy is an eye. Coming and going is circumstances. There is no doing implied or ascribed by Chan buddhism in the application of subtle operation or its compliment in the Science of Life of taoist Complete Reality tradition. Whoever says he transforms energy and recycles it is deep in this energy already, born to die. It doesn't matter how you light it and/or post-produce it. This is the conditional from start to finish. Enjoying working with the dregs of form, desire or formless constructs, however skilled you may believe your abilities to do so, is nothing to crow about. Autonomy is an eye. Coming and going is just circumstances. There is no self involved to like or distain in terms of conditions relative to self and other. Though stillness and movement appear to respond to energy, it is the situation itself dictating appearances. Those who see do not transform, much less recycle anything. No one transforms anything but phantom magicians harvesting phantom conditions. Enlightening activity is simply matching potential inherent in ordinary situations to the inevitability of each situation. It's like knowing how to answer an insoluble riddle because you already know from the start that it is just the situation itself without remainder. It is what it is. The only thing required is will and patience to wait out one's affair with power to match creation. All spiritual alchemy is is the matter of recognizing the potential of transformation within created cycles and waiting for it to ripen of its own accord (or not). This is just seeing the real by virtue of the false. Even if this is what our magician means by transforming energy, it still does not account for his claim to like doing something with it. If one does anything with potential, it is no longer potential. This is the rule. Whoever says he does anything with energy in terms of transcendent practice not only talks too much, but has a product to boot. What therefore is the point of essential nature but to remain so without stooping to the business of re-manufacturing polluted energy? A junk-man sells junk. Witnessing transformation after transformation does not admit oneself doing anything, does not admit others doing anything either. The deluded just go along with changes without knowing it. Enlightenment is sealed. Nothing is inside or outside it. Certainly, the deluded do not know that holding and then releasing in terms of subtle operation isn't a matter of energy, stillness or activity. Where the dharma-eye is autonomous within coming and going, East mountain walks on water.
  10. Autonomy

    Thank you, Clarity!!❤
  11. bad energy , negative attacks, what to do ?

It has nowhere to go. I like to transform this energy and not use it. It is up to the consciousness of the individual as regards its transformation, yet still it is up to the situation itself in terms of the timing of response.
  12. That could even work on me if he's able to offer to buy the store… haha!
  13. What is potential in terms of Taoist practices?

Chi says: Its kinda like jazz~ if you have to say what kind of jazz it is— IT'S NOT JAZZ. Opinions are not valid here, in the context of this thread. But one such as Chi should not be too quick to help others before he has been able to help himself. Nevertheless, what Chi said below is the most powerful part of Chi's real path of gradual practice, which has been apparent to me since before Chi started bumming around on this forum: Unfortunately, again Chi is relying on the literal sense of the level of teaching meant for the lowest of the low. How one handles the adverse situations with calmness is not necessarily effective in terms of gathering potential, Chi. What the real meaning of not minding in the face of objects is is seeing potential in terms of the matter of not employing the thinking mind in coming into contact with ordinary circumstances complacently. Just plugging ahead because it's good like a dead piece of wood isn't good, Chi. This will never turn alchemic lead into gold elixir. Just being able to let things go dispassionately is absolutely valid and effective as a formative morality, but then the rote clinging to the Word and teachings without insight is another matter entirely. Furthermore, Chi has never been able to see truth outside of the Word. This is a killer. Truth is an ideal of the West. Truth doesn't work in terms of the real. When Chi can drop his iron-fisted conceptual intellectual grasp of ideas relative to words and just see reality as is, there is no longer any need of ideals, ideas, truth, or conceptual arrangements relative to anything to activate enlightening function. I will add a bit more about Chi's approach to Complete Reality in general to serve as an example for what is NOT essential to entering the mysteries that taoism nor any other tradition has discovered first or invented without precedent. There have always been those who were born knowing complete reality. Aliens are not responsible. It is mind itself. There is nothing inside or outside mind. Mind is unattributable, inconceivable. Not knowing potential is not knowing yourself. Know thyself. But first I will address Songstan's comment. Songstan, why do you deliberately separate yourself from this important thing, the matter of life and death, by saving it for a future lifetime? That you may or may not realize complete reality in this lifetime is immaterial and a given. Making a needless pact with yourself over this is relegating the fact that your self-importance matters to reality. It does not matter to reality. But what you should realize is that seeing potential is a matter of not employing the thinking mind in coming into contact with ordinary circumstances. Why saver that for later, hmmmmm? Dealing with potential IS the work of gradual practice leading to the sudden realization of causeless nonorigination. Not minding in the face of situations is a preliminary stage. Afterwards, it's fine to kill a buddha. I don't mind killing buddhas at all. I will repeat: Seeing potential is a matter of not employing the thinking mind in coming into contact with ordinary circumstances. Chi is wedded to the word and unto death will he part. This will not do for those with the will to enlightenment. Obviously, seeing (stealing potential in taoist terminology of the highest order) is gathering potential and storing it as unrestored elixir in the pot pairing fire and water. This is a fact that has nothing to do with Chi's practical understanding of his new religion. Chi had been a master translator, realizing for us the true meaning behind the (translated) words. Now the ranks of recreational philosophers will never know what they lost when Chi discovered the fancy Chinese name for Complete Reality tradition (I AM jealous of the hat he gets to wear though). It's all words for this new acolyte so, regrettably, nothing has changed as regards our faithful old Chi Dragon. Moving along… It is not possible to understand potential, nor its gathering. This is simply due to the fact that there is nothing-whatsoever to understand. When you see something transform before your eyes for the first time… this is immediate. This is mind. Potential is everything in its uncreated state. DON'T THINK. Aware mind (your awareness that creates illusion) is uncreated. It is unattributable. Your own mind right now in its present deluded state is already uncreated. That's what awareness is. This is all it has ever been: Unborn. ARE YOU STILL NOT THINKING? Right now you are uncreated but you don't know it. The uncreated you is just you right now. Right now, the uncreated is the entire manifest reality of karmic evolution. This is the temporal. In the absolute, the totality of potential is also uncreate right now. Adepts come from this perspective right now as the knowledge of nonorigination is the potential of creation right now, whether or not you are an apparition in the temporal or nothing-whatsoever in its homeland before the dichotomy of the two things spontaneously manifests as Changes. The bad habit to eliminate from your modus operandi is thinking of things as created. Why? Because then you will have no reason to entertain speculative opportunistic relationships with stultified cloying energy (like every one else caught in the eternally created rounds of birth and death). Ever wonder why there are so many unenlightened people and so few enlightened people? Well, stop wondering, because everyone is enlightened due to our nature as the uncreate itself. The difference is that enlightening beings have come to see and understand the celestial design as the absolute is not just inherent in creation— creation IS the absolute. They just go ahead and prove it in ordinary affairs. Furthermore, buddhas step right over eternity (creation) and act like it (in the temporal) by not going along with karmic events in broad daylight, seeing how it is and responding accordingly. There is simply no need to make arrangements with it. It's as good as DEAD, because it's already created. Just deal with its potential aspect in terms of response and forget the rest. When you yourself and all things as well are seen as uncreated apparitions so you do not partake of speculative schemes of even the most extreme subtlety, while at the same time observing objectively and responding to situations appropriately, then you can be said to have turned the light around and are operating the subtlety of spiritual potential in the midst of mundanity. This is the description of one's activation of inherent enlightening being as an expression of Complete Reality. Buddhism calls this Suchness. Potential isn't a part of reality. It IS reality. Seeing reality is stealing potential. It takes an instant to become potential and forever live outside of the influence of karmic momentum. ed note: add below first line, change "they" to "buddhas" in 18th paragraph
  14. What is potential in terms of Taoist practices?

Concepts are not it. It is not found in words. Chi D. is talking the philosophy of a student clinging to religion. When you turn the light of creation around yourself, this light is itself potential. Seeing potential is dealing with essence directly with no intermediary. Culling the elixir is non-gathering gathering. Gathering is just seeing reality with nonpsychological awareness. Fancy Chinese words spoken by a long-time habitual literalist like Chi D are a load of crap. What do you do with it? Immortalists gather potential by seeing essence and then store it in recondite secrecy in the empty vessel of nonpsychological awareness void of intellectualism in the center of the real immaterial body of earth, which has no location.
  15. What is potential in terms of Taoist practices?

In the context of the OP, this is ludicrous.
  16. bad energy , negative attacks, what to do ?

Yes sun, the battle is null for oneself alone in terms of seeing potential, but since the world does not know this (or see this in TS' case), the immortalist is sometimes required to to "go along", so to speak, in order to introduce guidance in what seems to be a situation of following compulsions (along with the world). This isn't a matter of differing paths (or opinions). The situation is inherent in oneself already. Here there is no one to tell to "go away" per the "bioenergetic method" as practiced by TS. Not that telling folks to BEAT IT doesn't work momentarily. Just using your example throughout this post, TS— this is not a personal attack, but a formidable response, ok?❤ Unfortunately, in the negative sense, people are relentless. They are also very lazy. And TS naturally assumed this thread would be an easy mark. In TS' case, he sees something as his own path, i.e. something is not his path (only when he finds himself at an impasse— much like a certain mega-poster), because his is the perspective of a personalistic bias ignorant of selfless illumination (the subject and power behind Hongzhi's words), whereas the reality is there being no path outside of the totality of shining brilliance here and now. This is precisely what engulfs energy, bad or otherwise. What effect of bad energy and negative attacks would there be here at this time? But nobody sees this except for those who see potential in the context of phenomena. Enlightening being is seeing through phenomena without denying characteristics. The exposition of Hongzhi is one of inconceivable transcendence not apart from all beings being ancestors in the present moment actualized by oneself alone~ not issues of a preferential therapeutic method, which seems to be TS' deliberate perspective. One has to see this in order to avail oneself of its power. This is the path of no one. Actually, I believe TS decided to cover up an ill-thought simplistic drive-by comment (a literal phenomena learned and perpetuated under the auspices of the recreational philosophers in residence) that didn't work out so simply. It is just the self-conscious habitually relative view of the human mentality, just getting in its own way, as usual— ultimately requiring the subsequent and not-so-graceful back-up dance (philosophers don't dance). Evidently TS saw the title (and a fresh deci post to piss on) and saw an opportunity to over-simplify something he has never conceived of and then created a spray about his assiduously followed path-of-technique without ever bothering to recognize the import of Hongzhi's teaching, and this is how threads come and go in the real world— hello de-railed thread, anyone? …is not a method. The doing of this is impersonal awareness. So who does this oneself? No one does this. When the real human with no status opens his eyes, demons flee. When the no one of one's selfless aware nature acts… A mirror reflecting forms only sees what is, without grasping appearances. When no one acts (and nobody sees it), what interacts? what impedes? "Springtime" is the kind of energy it is. It's not nice, its pristine~ and it has an edge. My mind not interacting with TS' is not impeding TS' mind. TS' does not see this mind. It is TS' mind impeding TS' mind. Why should I be annoyed? This, sun's powerful and short quote from Hongzhi's book Cultivating the Empty Field, is an entire teaching unto itself. Please respond to the topic, people. There were over 300 views with not a single response before I posted. TS' quickly rejoined with a point that neither grasped the OP nor my response. Let us please elevate what is so and endeavor to see what is so. Posting shouldn't be a pastime, but evidently, for some bums, it seems to be. Do not take it lightly. Getting to talk and hear about things like this is a one-in-a-million proposition. This is the matter of life and death, not a method of comfort and ease. I hope it will be obvious to bums that literal reactivity is not "transforming according to circumstances". It is following one's own path oblivious of circumstances, creating danger where there was none. If TS hadn't missed the point of Hongzhi's quote entirely, he would have been able to relate how "his path" relates to the title of the thread (IN THE CONTEXT OF THE OP) in a real way (that actually requires an expertise AND effort in expressing it to others)— and not just another drive-by consisting of telling us to "just tell it to go away" amended by the immediate follow-up post (with no link) about the fly-by-night transcendental path of the bioenergetic method, which TS says he follows. It is obvious that TS' post is an example of casual selfishness, void of the spirit of contribution. It's not even my thread, but still I suggested he provide a link. Maybe only certain elected illuminates are permitted to know the secrets of the path of Bioenergetics …when they're not just telling spreaders of bad energy and negative attacks to "go away", of course. Who would follow the path of discipline, precision and self-restraint no different than any other path with heart, and forget that which only injures oneself and others through habitual unconscious action. Fully appreciating the emptiness of all dharmas when all minds are free and all dusts evaporate in original brilliance shining everywhere is the result of a precise, disciplined restraint of the habitual self-identity engulfing bad energy and negative attacks. What to do? It is obvious that sun sees this or she would not have ventured to start this thread and suggest this one way to realize it in the first place.
  17. a Purpose

haha!!❤ The universe you speak of is Creation, BD. What is interesting is awareness itself~ What a mystery! One is a mystery and the other is a mystery within the mystery. The inner mystery gives birth to the outer mystery. Prior illuminates have left behind a teaching for those with the predilection for seeing their nature. There have always been those who are born knowing. Complete Reality has no point other than its perpetually self-refreshing brilliant living awareness. Just this being you is the discovery of those with the audacity and will to see their nature. Furthermore, in the aftermath of enlightenment, one gradually enters the tao in reality, in terms of secretly transforming karmic energy into potential immaterial essence within the context of ordinary situations. So what? Spiritual immortality is seeing this and partaking in the mystery of its concurrent inseparable karmically evolutionary aspect by not going along with creation while in its midst. I ask and answer the "so what" issue every now and then myself, actually~ read my threads with more care, BD!! Ok… So what if you do or don't accomplish the Complete Reality of immortalists? Who is bound by creation and who sends it off? Ultimately there is no person; the light is one. Those who turn the light around follow it back to its source wherein inherent enlightening being operates its subtlety. Ordinary people are compelled to follow the light of creation's cycles of birth and death. Those who follow the same light in reverse do not go along with the flow of karmic birth and death. So what? suninmyeyes started a thread recently that introduces the brilliant words of Hongzhi. "Bad energy, negative attacks, what to do", sounds like business as usual in this created universe. Spiritual immortality is the effect and realization of her opening quote of Hongzhi's. Spiritual immortality is just words, but the reality behind it is inconceivability. This is you even now~ wanna find out? bad energy , negative attacks, what to do ?
  18. bad energy , negative attacks, what to do ?

Hongzhi said: This is exactly what I am talking about— no doubt, inferred by suninmyeyes as well. This is what happens to "negative energy" by subtle operation of skillful means or in the parlance of taoist alchemy: seeing potential, culling the elixir and refining it in the crucible of heaven and earth. Even so, one doesn't move. When Mara approached the Buddha, all he did was touch the earth from his seated position. This is symbolic of the position of the Center of one's immaterial body of Complete Reality, which has no location and is the incipience of life, including its temporal karmic expression. In conquering the relentless life/death dealing forces of polarity, one doesn't deal with polarized energy on its terms, one deals with energy in terms of its potential state— that is, uncreated, selfless. This is to "Fully appreciate the emptiness of all dharmas", when… "all minds are free and all dusts evaporate in original brilliance shining everywhere" Because this is what really happens when pristine awareness "refreshes itself", in the words of Padmasambhava. It is not like nothing has happened, it is like what has never happened, again and again, and again. Energy, regardless of its polarity, doesn't go anywhere or do anything because immortalists steal its potential in its essential state simply due to the fact that that is where immortalists are coming from already. It is up to the person having no personal history in terms of not having sticking points for energy to adhere is what determines one's relationship with karma. When Buddha sat and faced Mara's army, he already knew the nonorigination of essential nature, selflessly aware. I hope it is obvious to everyone here that beginninglessness has no history at all, personal or otherwise. Those who have seen this beginninglessness know their own nature, selflessly aware. This is freedom from personal history on the cosmic level, whereby despite conditions, karma has no place to stick to the real awareness body of buddhas, wizards, immortalists and adepts. This is why I say a "bioenergetics" isn't even in the same universe as Hongzhi's teaching in Cultivating the Empty Field. This is the celestial power of the emptiness that is not void. Cultivating this is just refining away one's acquired polluted energy to arrive at one's inherent aware nature naturally replete. When you finally see this for what it is, you realize it has just been thus all along. I went to town, eh sun?❤❤ Pardom moi, madame-cherie!! ed note: add comma in 5th paragraph

T.S. said: Told that to the usual suspects trolling around here lately, T.S.? Actually, unminding in the face of glib leadenness is the nature of mind itself— not a method. The quote by Hongzhi is not relative to anything outside of essential aware nature and the spirit of those working in the midst of karmically hung-up individuals bent on the task of obstructing their own enlightening activity's discovery, expression and subsequent transmission outside of doctrine. Practices, exercises, or formal meditation is like the cartoon figure who calls a "time-out" to stop the action to take or make a call. Though therapeutic exercises can be helpful for those who, in the aftermath of unskillful absorption of karmic residue, must then use technique to regain a meditative clarity due to an inability to deal with events spontaneously in the first place. This is the shortcoming of a reliance on technique— meditative or otherwise, brought out by Chuangtzu's famous story of the butcher. Enlightening effectivity in the midst of chaos must be the skillful application of a spontaneous matching of potential realized from within the situation itself in terms of mindful clarity, not of a response dependent on elements of polluted karmic phenomena— much less telling a relentlessly cloying hominid to "get lost". The lexicon of Honzhi is universes or eons beyond Alexander Lowen's Bioenergetics …but might make a fine topic for a thread if you like, or at least a link here for the bums reading suninmyeye's thread, T.S. The fact is, people are basically relentless, and many hapless targets could use the help provided by his Bioenergetics exercises.❤ In fact, dealing with attacks is equal to dealing with showers of flowers. These must be immediately seen through for what they are without entertaining personalistic bias or inclination. ed note: add T.S.'s quote
  20. bad energy , negative attacks, what to do ?

Kinda obviates the current and idle pastime of de-bunking …anything— not to mention simultaneously elevating and exposing the mystery of nonoriginated emptiness carrying out enlightening activity in the face of ignorance in action. Amid all the noise spontaneously emerge transcendent —is not merely the province of the absolute. It is in every cycle in the three kalpas of karmic evolution, but ignorant activists don't know this. Is it obvious that the hobby of "topical debunking" is for those who cannot "fully appreciate the emptiness of all dharmas"? People such as these would mistake this line for an equivocality that condones self-perpetuating ignorant action. In dealing with ignorance of emptiness, it is the action of those ignorant of emptiness that requires response, in any case— even if response amounts to withdrawal. Yet ignorance itself void of grasping the two extremes is the dharma eye, which is the subtlety of mind "clear and desireless…". All this is lost on those taken up by the idle pastime of "debunking". Selfless mind, "transforming according to circumstances, meet all beings as your ancestors" is the characteristic of those who have seen the source progenitor. Knowledge of one's own and others' ancestor is not a person. All beings have this. Yet migrating ignorant activism does not know this, and somehow imagines itself equivocally, facetiously enabling entitlement issues of "free speech" on top of duplicity in that the dull impedance of one's own ignorance on another is only to be entertained, while a sharp counter is already "magnanimous beyond all duality"— yet who but the dull cannot recognize it as such. "Essentially you exist inside emptiness and have the capacity to respond outwardly without being annoyed…". Evidently the dull-witted do not appreciate the sharpness of enlightening "mirrors reflecting forms" …as if I mind. Knowing the joy of ripping holes in ignoramus' illusions (even as they do not realize it) doesn't mean one's countering of dull impedance is a hobby. Spontaneously meeting the inevitable is the selfless achievement of enlightening being. It's just a mirror~ what else would a buddha be? Seeing is immediate knowledge bypassing the thinking/feeling self-reifying psychological apparatus. There is a deeper application of the taoist analytic device of host and guest where the seat of knowledge is the host and intellect is the guest, which is the index of the return of normalcy to the organism. Delusion is the typical relationship between ego/aware nature whereby thought imagines itself to overarch immediate knowledge. As its characteristically habit-centered function calcifies, real knowledge becomes inaccessible to the organism. Don Juan Matus, a Yaqui adept of a Toltec tradition of the nature of perception who lived in northern Mexico and the subject of the first few books by Carlos Castañeda, described the difference between the man of knowledge and an ordinary person as a warrior's predilection for realizing the totality of the being that going to die and the ability to see. So those on this forum who cannot contain their intellectually despotic inability to conceptualize the nature of what I write about and must therefore be driven toward attempting its obstruction need only see that they themselves are trying to categorize a vast ungraspable mystery that has no beginning, inside or outside by the capacities of a puny morality lorded over by an utterly leaden self-identity that has never experienced self-nurture other than by an excentric self-pity. It (intellect) is entirely inadequate for the task of entering the tao. All the authentic traditions of the world's mystery teachings of the nature of awareness require an arduous (for some) self-refinement process to re-orient the mental makeup of the individual to enable the possibility of entry into the inconceivable nature of reality. Anyone who believes in their own separate ultimate identity creates it themselves. As for those who practice floating around in a void, they are only entertaining the empty consciousness of ageless thievery. This is not your shining mind~ it's just your mirror-in-a-bubble, itself floating within the confines of eternity. This is not freedom. Seeing is simply not using the selfish psychological apparatus to witness creation in terms of karmic evolution which results in immediate knowledge of reality as is, true Thusness, in everyday ordinary situations. There is no need for the mental masturbation described above. Life is short. Spend it in the here-and-now, please. There is no other time, there is no other reality, and there is no other mind. Really!! As simple as it is, seeing requires the fundamental refinement of the identity of the being that is going to die. Since it is a process of reversion that reverses the karmic evolution of the created universe within the aspect of the individual-as-reflection fundamentally undifferentiated from the whole of creation, that process is an audacious, precise undertaking that has nothing to do with an effortless, sudden realization of your essential nature. Why? The function of enlightening being is natural— as natural as ego's usurping of the seat of awareness seems to you right now. Reversion to the basis is simply being natural. This is all a person can do. This is the comprehension of self-refinement. The sudden is not the doing of people, it is the product of celestial timing. Therefore, the saying goes: "Refine the self and await the time." It can happen whether you are ready or not, so don't let it go to waste. Anticipating unity is a dead-end. Just refine the self to activate the function of enlightening being no different than your own mind before the first thought. It is simply possible to do so, and no one knows why. It is not possible to understand it, as it is inconceivability itself. Attempting to do so is the insanity of Icarus. Not-understanding the mystery of entry into the mystery of awareness is the prerequisite to arrival. Just this much is as much seeing as one can ever do. Know that seeing is not a self-reflective habit energy relative to doing. No one does seeing. Seeing is reality alternately responsive or hidden; being that is awareness itself. This is the unattributable~ not the sense-organ. I hope I have made if perfectly clear for the literalists and pedants that one enters the tao in reality by virtue of not thinking it can be thought about. Precisely, it is just in not-thinking. When one gets this, one has found the world is a resting-place within oneself. Don't think about it.❤

Yes, Brian! Vous beat me to it~ It would be most considerate of Songstan to draft his comments and edit them BEFORE posting them here— how about it, Songstan? Please avoid using threads as a scratch-pad for your thoughts, ok? ed note: add note to Brian

Good points, Urpflanze! Seeing is subject to the situation. Seeing is whatever is. The context is the situation including one's outer conventional relationship and responsibility to it. Anything beyond that is a personalistic interpretation. This IS an abstraction. This is because seeing is functionally enlightening being, which is nonpsychological awareness. This is the working definition of spiritual activity. As such, this is inherent objective selflessness as is responding to Suchness as is. Where this does not go along with the temporal is up to seeing itself as the real is not outside the karmic. Yes. That is a way to put it. The dharma-eye is just this. Seeing through creation is the open function of one's selfless dharma-eye. Seeing through the world is enlightening being. This is the light-function of adepts, sages and buddhas. With nothing left to see, there is nothing left to do. This is release here and now from the karmic matrix wherein one transforms one karmic cycle. This is the meaning of the saying that "sublimated physically and spiritually, one smashes space and enters the Tao in reality; planting lotuses in fire, going through endless transformations". ed note: add last line

So by not grasping being the perennial mode of operation in the midst of ordinary affairs, the world's nonoriginated foundation of incipience flowing in perpetuity comes to the fore by virtue of situations themselves, and it couldn't be more natural because reality is complete as is. Even as the world beckons…❤ Though the world chooses you with showers of flowers, their fragrance is the same from the branch. So though you see the source of fragrance through its root, still you adapt to conditional showers of flowers, only without grasping ramifications— because their incipience is presence itself, not admitting following. Though the scene is phenomenal, only you see it unmoving. Unnoticed, you neither rush or tarry …a passing through in endless transformations coeval with creation, not subject to creation. By maintaining equipoise at the aperture of Change, the gate and door of the mysterious female, you see changes by an inner stillness of impersonal witnessing. In this state of openness and sincere observation, who would dare to grasp at illusion? Yes, indeed. True knowledge is knowledge of incipience. This is seeing without traces. Grasping is the knowledge of knowing endless ramifications. ed note: add bit starting with Clarity's quote

Buddhists say sameness within difference to express the utterly subsumed quality of reality in terms of itself as is (Suchness), as well as enlightening activity adapting to conditions and also the conditions under which subtle operation is properly observed. Sameness is in terms of situationally evolving realms' outcomes being ultimately moot (as its essence is Unity), but there is its difference in that while adherence to cyclical processes is relative to the individual, yet enlightening beings never reach an end. The world is itself a phantom realm, filled with phantom people, so true reality is found in terms of return to the world's nonoriginated foundation of incipience flowing in perpetuity. There is nothing to grasp.❤
