Flowing with the Tao - how can you be sure?
deci belle replied to yabyum24's topic in Daoist Discussion
hi Kadesdes~ I finally came to the conclusion that "good" in terms of accepting the basic goodness of one's present situation without thinking of anything predicated to obtaining happiness produces harmony with the Tao. If I say it backwards it sounds like "harmony with the Tao is "good". This is non-doing independent of the conditional. It is a road straight into the Mystery as it is in harmony with its nature which is independent of the conditional, yet it is not separate— in fact, it is the very sameness within the conditional. The basic fundamental tenet of spiritual alchemy is that the real is found within the false. Inversely, if it weren't for the false, there would be no way to find the real. Self-refinement is refining away the human mentality to arrive at the Mind of Tao, which is no different than your own mind right now. The degree of one's ability to rest in this dynamic of stillness independent of karmic evolution yet responsive to it results in a power of spontaneity commensurate within that fluid stillness. Neither stillness nor activity, spiritual action responds independent of habitual self-reflective mental patterns. ed note: add "in terms of" in 1st line, typo 4th paragraph -

Walker… haha!!❤ As Starjumper wrote; in terms of "choices presented in the I-Ching"… I don't know… different people use this source according to their capacities. I consider the I-Ching a catalogue of types of time(s), and a code-book for nonpsychological potentials within situations. Ultimately, destiny is up to you. Enlightening function is a partnership with creation, not subject to it, as relatively speaking, if one is free of karmic attachment, one is not bound by a situation by virtue of adapting to its inherent potential in time. I have determined often and regularly enough that I-Ching readings aren't necessarily applicable to oneself. Or, if they could be construed as such, then its application (in terms of the lines or the judgement) is not necessarily an acceptable course of action or repose in the time frame relative to the individual(s). But sometimes you just know already and find a concurrent reading which would amount to an automatic alignment of one's original intent as Starjumper said, but I don't believe I-Ching readings (that's why I have a half-dozen for reference) for the purpose of prognostication. One must take personal responsibility at the outset in order to stand alone, independent of the world, as is Tao. ed note: typo (word) in 2nd paragraph -
Immortality. Buddhahood. The perspective of the uncreate. Not having a self, by realizing it is so selflessly, intimately, no different than nonoriginated Unity …your own mind-ground. This is the body of humanity. It is itself unborn. The conventional christian god amounts to a demiurge. This god has become the personification of ego and the gnostic gospels spell this out. The demiurge is itself bound to this world, unable to pass through the veil as you can by seeing your nature which is a preemption of the primal organization. The teachings of Christ are valid, but no one is allowed to use them effectively. There is no living christian tradition effectively, much less openly, keeping this knowledge alive for the purpose of transcendent realization. Salvation has nothing to do with religion; it is the source of it. ed note: add to 2nd paragraph

Don Juan Matus' Yaqui/Toltec tradition on the nature of perception was the first self-refinement discipline I absorbed. The first four of Carlos Castañeda's books on the teachings of Don Juan on becoming a Man of Knowledge have no peer. This is a body of knowledge that doesn't take a back seat to any spiritual tradition on this planet. His emphasis on living as a warrior, losing self-importance, quelling internal dialogue, hunting power, seeing and realizing the totality of one's self is a complete, living, and supremely ancient tradition of mastery for truly taking responsibility for one's inherent potential for "stopping the world" and realizing one's essential nature. These lines infinity has quoted are seared in my skull.❤ -

Yes, yabyum.❤ Each situation has its own dna; relative gravities in terms of potential. -
Really nice, infinity. Just for the sake of presence, my critique is a very subtle one that takes the line out of a possessive and personal context to activate its dynamic in terms of unity (which is already implied) by modifying the two key elements to an active accepting; loving. Albeit a very small nit-picky point— and not all that important in the final analysis. It's wonderful to dig up these old things and realize how well they resonate with and strengthen the continuity of our practice. Roger said: I know what you mean… in terms of really enacting a dynamic of impersonal vulnerability that gets into the heart of things by fearlessly employing an unconditional openness that wouldn't dream of wanting to change anything because in terms of authentic presence, outcomes are already as they are. Speculative patterns just create a self-conscious self-reflective state which constitutes a false kind of vulnerability that acts like a bait to seduce others (whereby we can blame others for taking it, or not) …but that's another subject.❤ ed note: add "Roger said" above second quote

goatguy splits the bones and gets the marrow.❤ The riddling is for the sake of the words' meanings~ using words to get beyond even their meanings. This is a wonderful thing to lay out for us (even as an example.) Approaching the authentic mystery teachings effectively requires no less dedication to the spirit of sleuthing that actively courts the Mystery. ed note: add text below first line -

yabyum wrote: ❤!! What is wonderful is that in finding that just this place is Reality, that it is the function of everyday situations and that this pivot having been on the verge of action in perpetuity both in terms of absolute and temporal—its Sameness is pristine incipience; whether we get involved or not. The scene changes and affects our relative balance according to our attachment. What is so alien to most everyone is the notion of the mechanism within the critical juncture of every cycle. Cycles repeat because they are so by virtue of creation. This is the mechanism. This is because in talking about it, it seems like doing. There is no doing involved. It is a matter of seeing. The simple over-riding fact of life is that in not seeing is how we get dragged along by circumstances. So in seeing is the key to the enlightening mechanism of detaching from creation at the right time. Immortalists use the mechanism to their own advantage to return to the beginning of every cycle by incrementally seeing a bit of the essence inherent in all of creation. In following creation, one gets karma. In following Tao, one gets immortality. Seeing through phenomena without denying characteristics is how not to follow creation. There is no other way to follow Tao by virtue of seeing the essence of potential in everyday ordinary situations than by not going along with created karmic cycles. Seeing and karmic involvement are mutually exclusive. Though they are the same in terms of potential, yet one ordinarily follows the light of conscious awareness of life and death or one naturally follows it in reverse to arrive at its source of nonorigination. There is no other mechanism beyond the incipient manifest respiration of the Way, which is the alternation of yin and yang, whether it is seen or unseen in the course of affairs. Ordinary people go along, whereas enlightening beings go in reverse thereby to return to the source; at first incrementally, then, eventually, they return all at once. Otherwise there is a tendency for people to think of following Tao as a moralistic, passive, or even a preemptive avoidance strategy. It is beyond convention. It is already inside you, naturally to be discovered by those who will. How else would one enter into inconceivability than by entering the mystery of the Tao in reality? Tao is Mind. There is no other mind. There aren't two, let alone one. It is in willing to treat mundane situations as completely real adventures, where one consciously and honestly doesn't dare to presume upon one's conventional knowledge as ordinary people do habitually— thereby to speculate on their relative karmically saturated outcomes. One is already vulnerable to the consequences of events, aware or not. There are no innocent bystanders; no survivors. Using ordinary circumstances to practice authentic unknowing is a game of life and death— not in the morbid sense, but in the sense of self-refinement leading to arrival of harmonizing one's light in the Tao as well as harmonizing the light of awareness to the circumstantial events requiring our response. In buddhist terms, meeting the matter of life and death is not living one's life in vain by actually experiencing the Great Death, the Great Wonder of suddenly arriving at the selfless realization of essential nonorigination which is spoken in terms of the absolute. Regardless of relative or absolute, gradual or sudden, the reality of the matter of life and death is one, without before or after in perpetuity. I'm talking about right now, right here. This is the natural pivot of awareness of enlightening being, and no one knows why. Actually how "catching the Tao" comes to pass is in detaching from habitual psychological patterns, and their combined momentums. Eventually, after a long time, artificial momentum loses its kinetic (karmic) force, and in letting the world pass us by, the Tao's influence in our lives picks up our brave and lovely inner hitch-hiker who wouldn't dare dream of knowing how the next fresh breath will or won't come to pass in the next turn. ed note: add text below "❤!!", add "in perpetuity. I'm talking about right now, right here." in penultimate paragraph -

Flowing with the Tao - how can you be sure?
deci belle replied to yabyum24's topic in Daoist Discussion
And what about… "how can you be sure?" You can be sure when there is not a hairsbreadth between inside and outside. When you have seen through a change and there is no discernible difference and no knowledge of before and after in terms of self and other, this is where one has followed potential outside of the influence of creation (karma). This is what following the Tao seems like in terms of inconceivability. In terms of convention, the closest conventional example would be a very close call where nobody noticed. But in this example, you know self and other have a separateness and there is clearly "before and after", where you would be temped to look over your shoulder. You know for sure when nothing happened and there is no sense of self and other, but the cycle has clearly been transcended and pristine awareness has refreshed itself without awakening reifying thought. Since this is how it is, how can one function in terms of the inconceivable? The original question is framed as a dilemma. Seeing reality and construing a dilemma is due to habit awareness of the nature of the mechanical mind: i.e., getting it right, not wrong. In reality, there is no answer or question— just what is. If reality is seen as inconceivable, any resolution can then be carried out in terms of inconceivability. This can be viewed in terms of an algebraic equation because both sides of the equation are equal. There is no right or wrong, only equal. First of all, the definition of delusion is ignorance of the deluded state. If you are aware of its functioning, and can freely adapt within deluded conditions, this then is enlightening activity. Dogen calls this being deluded within delusion. This is trusting the inherent potential of the situation itself; following desires without stepping over the line. Secondly, trusting inherent potential is the same as the subtle spiritual operation of inconceivable nature, where radiant presence is impersonal. I don't say this to sound impressive (these are just w-o-r-d-s). Open sincerity is just trusting inherent potential by not entertaining views of self and other. The impersonal being of self/other is reality. If you can see with the unborn mind, just this is it. Since free adaption within inherent potential is no different than having the power to see potential inherent in the stultified energy of manifest energy (creation/karma), then enlightening activity is just seeing creation as inconceivability no different than the absolute of selfless nonorigination. Thirdly, in order to be flowing with the Tao in surety one must indeed be seeing in terms of the nature of the ground of inconceivability. It is really as simple as activating the mind without dwelling on appearances. This is not formal sitting meditation. This is adapting to everyday ordinary situations like ordering a single wet breve ristretto without thinking anything while really seeing in a 360˚ focusless focus of observational presence of the entirety of space (merci, thelerner— haha!!). I swear, your eyes will not buG OuT. It is not the sense organ. It is simply not thinking, whereby the real knowledge of immediate perception operates naturally having been freed of habitual self-reflective mental patterns. Fourthly, since it is a fact that the real knowledge of immediate impersonal awareness void of bias and inclination arises spontaneously in the absence of habitual mental contents, and seeing reality is seeing this inconceivable mind-ground naturally with no separation of self and other, knowledge and content are the inconceivability of sameness, neither ordinary or holy. Obviously, there is no sense of opportunistic circumstantial speculative complacency abiding in this mind. When speaking of the root of delusion perpetuating karmic evolution, just this is it. In spying this thief, it is essential that you do not confront it directly. Specifically, it is a matter of choosing not to choose. This is how to deal with the familiar characteristic of the mechanical mind. In choosing not to choose, the human mentality, the master thief, is left with nothing to entertain in terms of orchestrating the facetious shimmering fascination of choice. It is a complete sham battle. Now you know (but it doesn't). It is necessary to wait in order to see this exact moment in the course of affairs. What you don't know is that seeing this sham battle is exactly where you step into the middle of it. When you get the pivot of creation, destiny is up to you. It's like stepping in to jump rope *girl-thing*. This is the critical juncture of every karmic cycle. This is the heart of creative evolution where potential is stolen by adepts, immortals and buddhas. You go along to see this time; not-choosing is stealing the potential at its peak of ripeness. In not-choosing, karma is left to its own device which is to helplessly maintain its kinetic momentum, and its neurotic speed without your involvement. This is the space of not going along with creation …seeya! …and eventually, the whole situation goes along without you. This is transcending a cycle. This is what certainty is. It is the certainty of not-knowing. It is inconceivable, after all. This is precisely where Bodhidharma turned a flip with the emperor who asked, "Who is speaking?" The response~ "Don't know". Then he left the realm of the man who could not recognize nonempty emptiness. The function of Tao is return. Transcending a cycle is return. This is following the flow of Tao, not the flow of creation. This is functioning inconceivably in which one recognizes the inconceivable nature of delusion/karma/creation and matches it with one's inherent potential imbedded in the unity of the situation itself, thereby to go through this and subsequent transformations endlessly. It should be obvious that enlightening being is beyond the realm of conventional mores, while one influences creation secretly from within ordinary situations, for no reason at all. Nevertheless, one must endeavor to provide Caesar his due in conventional terms in adapting to situations and not create dilemmas where there are none. ed note: add to first paragraph, add paragraphs 6+7, add last paragraph -

Flowing with the Tao - how can you be sure?
deci belle replied to yabyum24's topic in Daoist Discussion
Tao neither follows nor leads, but wells forth from incipience unknowing. If in reference to tao meaning "a Tao-flowing-like perspective; Tao has no perspective. Emulation of inconceivability would be like clearly not-knowing in unity. So what choice is there to make? In surety, there is no illusion of separateness, and so nothing to know in terms of choice. Therefore it is a matter of inevitability, then waiting for reality to catch up to inherent potential within the situation itself; not relying on one's own power. The process itself is karmic. This requires times, even types of time(s) within a cycle. This is the only reason I say waiting. Nevertheless, waiting is a type of time as well as a type of strategy predicated by the time, not the person. If one is not up to this, then there is application of effort. If this stems from objectivity in assessment and impersonality in adaption, then one must strive for an advantageous position, if only to adopt a posture of equipoise— and then if only to find out what happened in terms of objectivity. Now if we're talking about something that, in effect, amounts to a brawl— this is hardly the consideration of enlightening activity. Choices are like that. Deadlines happen. This then is completely within the realm of convention. If you must act, then it behooves you to have a strategy and the ability to assess objectively and adapt impersonally. Karmic emotions and conflicting rationales must be gotten rid of …and don't take them back.❤ -
haha!!❤ thank you, chegg! Buddhists have been saying since before Christ that it is only in the human state that people are able to realize their own nature. Christ was human. Human being is a cross-roads of potential. Your real-self awareness' source is the father. When you see the father the father is you. This is how we know our living aware potential has never been created. The father is selfless self-aware nonoriginated unborn nonbeing. Our own awareness is this capacity. This is getting to the father through availing oneself of the opportunity of being created in the human state. Self-refinement is clarifying this capacity. As it is, your real-self awareness is your own light functioning right now. In taoist terms, bright virtue is real human being fully expressing the immaterial Tao inasmuch as we cannot know Tao, but its functional manifestation is Virtue; open sincere intent. When our function is this open sincere intent, we do not have to deal with the world in terms of the personality~ or any person, for that matter; adapting to situations selflessly in terms of the potential inherent in its own evolutionary cycle, we do not rely on our individual power to adapt to everyday ordinary situations. This is the subtlety of the spiritual vehicle buddhists call the Great Vehicle or the Middle Way. In leu of mastering the natural reality described by 9th above, simply in recognizing your own awareness' lack of bias or inclination and developing sincere open intent void of habitual self-reflective opportunism, what is naturally operational in terms of enlightening being per 9th's comment will manifest without any effort or anticipation on your part. It is when these "powers" manifest that one should seek teachers. Wisdom itself is not difficult. The difficulty is in not-using it. ed note: add thank you note to chegg

chegg said… Merely becoming aware. This is where I would begin. Awareness itself is it. Awareness, the nature of perception to be exact, is uncreated. It is empty and has no identity. You can avail yourself of this inherent natural capacity of being by recognizing the nature of your own mind right now. Becoming aware of the nature of essential awareness is a process of lessening the ingrained habits that stultify unity. Unity is what awareness is in terms of living potential energy. Selflessness is not a moral imperative as it is not a person. Having no self, it does not reflect self or other. This is what make the objectivity of realized people valuable. The conditioned psychological apparatus comprising your ideas of intellectual, sexual and emotional self-identities and the sensual organs are part of a matrix that has become ego-hood. The apparatus has buried the natural awareness of enlightening being independent of conditioned cycles of creation in its self-absorbed processes that have over-arched the ego-function's original premise. Ego is absolutely valid, but it has usurped the mastery of awakened self-nature. Unfortunately, the true wisdom or mystical teachings of gnostic christianity were brutalized almost beyond recognition over 1600 years ago. The traditions we have to work back to re-discover our true living aware nature are not so foreign though. Christ said it as well as any teacher of authentic transcendent wisdom and he was not the only one to have ascended into heaven in broad daylight. Begin studying the authentic teachings that resonate with you. Just avoid the traps of recreational philosophy, attachment to meditation states and "wellness lifestyles". There is real knowledge left behind. We are all responsible for clarifying our own bright virtue. Realize it is not in words. It cannot be explained. It is not thinking. Awareness itself is truly miraculous. It's your own mind. ed note: add to 4th paragraph and "attachment to meditation states" to penultimate paragraph

This is a response to a PM concerning the term "all is mind". I often hear the phrase: "It is all mind". There are times when I completely get that... and then when I think about my own personal energy work, the goal is to develop, connect to, and rely on the innate (lower brain in the LDT)... which seems to negate the idea about 'all mind'. So I am not sure if that means it is 'all mind' when: 1. The mind is engaging the world... which is really most of the time as our senses feed all sensory perceptions to our brain. 2. It also applies to the lower brain as that is what engages the world too. The essence is unattributable. Mind is light. Reality is seeing essence by virtue of the light inherent in creation, this universe. Seeing does not derive power from self or other. This is transcendent power. In my view, "All is mind" isn't so much a reference to the capacity or type of cognition in the sense that clarification of self is unification of the totality of the self when one sees the absolute and witnesses the obviation of creation. It's just that mind to mind is light itself; this is no one. When essence reverts to itself, what could there possibly be? On the other hand, in discussing the matrix of consciousness functions comprising the individual organism as well as in terms of the vastness of creation, it is not so much of leaving anything (self, other, physical, mental, emotional, psychic, etc.) out, in terms of the clusters of awarenesses, but rather not being deluded by them. Delusion is mind, certainly, but not to an "effective" degree of wholeness of human being which is the point of the authentic teachings and their lineages. By not being deluded by "them" I mean that transcendent awareness doesn't identify as the matrix of "clusters of habit-consciousness knowledge" comprising the various aspects of the organism throughout time immemorial. Transcendent awareness is just that which sees through everything to the degree that it is seeing reality as is. To the degree that real knowledge is actively aware, that much of the organism's enlightening function is comprising the totality of the being that is going to die. The term "all is mind" doesn't necessarily differentiate between activated real and false consciousness. "All is mind" includes the totality of reality without differentiation or discrimination. Mind is neither existent nor non-existent, mental nor not-mental in terms of creation. In terms of the absolute, that there is no thing does not depend on degree or origination. The human mentality engages, but it's already an inadequate function in terms of enlightening activity (or any activity, for that matter)… haha, just kidding.❤ In the process of the sense organ "feeding perceptions" [to mind]… it is only mind perceiving. The view that mind is being fed perceptions is what must be reversed. The organ only senses and talks; mind is independently, selflessly aware. It is a most peculiar affair. Those who begin to see this mind begin to enter the mystery immediately. Grain by grain, they gather the potential by not using this mind to follow creation. Not-using this mind to follow creation is following the light in reverse to shine on its source. Following the light in reverse is gathering potential without gathering anything. Not following creation with the mind is the immortalist's take-over of creation, naturally arriving within the source of awareness by selfless adaption in ordinary affairs. This is using the world to transcend the world. "All is mind" is just seeing this mind. The subtle spiritual function is "all at once". The fact that this activity is effortless is due to "all is mind", yet the reason no one does this is due to ingrained habits of false awareness. Ordinarily, the human mentality becomes an habitual craving-function for "being fed by the sense-organ". So there is no independent aspect of mind in that the sense-organ at the service of perception takes over the control of open awareness as real knowledge sinks out of reach of the organism. This can only result in the independently aware nature losing its power, only to become the vassal of the sense-organs along with the conditional identities and compulsive functions and patterns of the deluded organism. The thing to ferret out is that to the degree that independence is surreptitiously reclaimed by gradual refinement processes by the will to nonpsychological open sincerity, "all is mind" is an imperceptible reversion to an independent awareness functioning outside the influence of the ego-matrix of the instinctual intellectual-emotional patterns being "fed" by sensory-perception. This can continue indefinitely in terms of lifetimes of enlightening reversion or in going along with creation. By going in reverse, one can interrupt consciousness and die before the body dies, releasing the inherent spiritual potential to unify with the uncreate. Eventually, after returning to life, this evolves into having a body outside of the body which has no location or origination. Seeing this is planting the seed of the embryo of immortality and is the same as sudden enlightenment whereby one then again takes up gradual practice in ordinary situations to solidify in human time(s) the achievement of the celestial time. So the degree of freedom one realizes through gradual self-refinement to be perceiving reality as is is independent of the celestial event because mind itself IS the celestial. All of it. There is only one mind, not two. This is another meaning of "all is mind". The ability to see reality as mind itself and not as things is indicative of the degree of authentic overall clarification that has been realized by the individual. Only to that degree can one say, "all is mind". So it isn't really "all is mind" until you can see it in fact, even if you know it and believe it …and that takes time, patience and will. Even so, this is not a matter of sudden enlightenment. The fact of Complete Reality is simply the matter of single-minded dedication to now by not entertaining the whims of the psychological apparatus for the rest of your life. This requires an unbending intent resting in the knowledge of the basic good of ordinary existence void of even the most (spiritually) subtle craving in order to observe this apparatus without ever letting up for any reason until it suddenly poofs of itself without any effort or anticipation on your part. To the degree you can observe this apparatus without following its illusions which are the stuff of karma, this is, in fact, an entry into immediate enlightening being forever free without beginning. Planting lotuses in fire, going through endless transformations, eventually to enter the Tao in Reality, sublimated physically and spiritually: you know the real human with no status. ed note: add "Reality is seeing essence by virtue of the light inherent in creation, this universe. Seeing does not derive power from self or other. This is transcendent power." to opening line; italicize "it is only mind perceiving" in 8th paragraph; add "even the most (spiritually) subtle" in the second-to-last paragraph

Yay!!❤ That all things are perfectly resolved in the Unborn doesn't require mental reflection. There is no way to understand it. Just avoid changing it into other states of consciousness unawares. ed note: add last line "That all things…"
-
It seems so simple. Bankei never changed his tune or spiced up his message of the Unborn during his entire life. Just this mind is it. Bankei told the people during one of his Ryumon-ji sermons: As the fatherless son of a masterless samurai, Bankei's mother sent him to a Confucian teacher to study the Great Learning by rote. The quest to understand Confucius' term "bright virtue" led him to totally disregard anything else for years, including his health which he eventually learned wasn't necessary at all. In fact he almost died of his own neglect of his health due to the conditions he felt he must endure in order to find out the truth. At one point, he realized that he was going to die, and his only regret was never having gotten any nearer to understanding the meaning of bright virtue since he had first stumbled over it. It is possible to forget your own selfishly inclined mind by just seeing through the Unborn. It doesn't require some sort of special all-at-once out-of-body cosmic experience to function with the eye of the unborn mind. Your own mind is already it. Even Shakyamuni Buddha lamented his useless deprivations before vowing to sit under the bodhi tree until he saw this mind. The only deprivation anyone need employ is toward feeding the craving mentality of time immemorial. Right now it is like a running sore. If you give it a few seconds thought about what you are sensing right now before going on mindlessly to the next sensational stimulus, just reflect on how much you already know all about it without even thinking and how much you already knew about it before abandoning your senses to it in the first place. Or, reflect for an instant on the fact that there is absolutely nothing to know about any random meaningless object you habitually give yourself over to in the first place and that you already knew that: i.e., that it is random and meaningless; that you already knew that; that there is nothing to know about it; that you already knew that; you already knew that you were mindlessly giving yourself over to vacuous stimulus and that you did it anyway. Now watch your own internal dialogue and realize you know that it is useless and even harmful— yet even if you can admit it in the moment, you already know that YOU DO NOT WANT TO STOP. The mind that immediately already knows without a single judgement is it. It seems so simple.❤

I was going to fix the last line (about the ass) again …but now I don't have to!

Ya, I'll get into it as best I can~ The PM originally included the term "All is the mind", but no one said "all in your mind". That mind won't transcend its own eyelids. This is not about a "yours". It is you, you are not it. But I'll talk about "your" mind a bit. The term (and the title of this thread), is "All is mind". This mind, which is the source of all minds (including the principally "your" mind), has no mentality, nor inside or outside, self, other, beginning, end, before, after, good or bad. Ultimately, there IS no other mind to mind. Having cited several distinctions in terms of the psychological apparatus as over against the complete aspect of one's inherent spiritual living aware immaterial spirit constituting the power of perception above, I'll see if I can comb it in another way …but sometimes even I can't do a thing with my hair, Apech!!❤ This mind has no "your". If you still say "your", you can't even begin to enter beyond the two extremes. "Your" mind is still the personality's numberless thinking, feeling sources of confused and conflicting streams of vicious thieving that has usurped the mastery of the organism of inherent real knowledge. People can't let the "your" mind go because it's got them by the balls. Complete, perfect enlightenment in which nothing is gained, is arrived at in the instant of forgetting this "your" mind. Even arriving here, one still must grind, polish and put away the remnants of lifetimes of karmic residue. The saying is, "It is easy to forget the body, but almost impossible to forget one's opinions." Opinions are the bulwark of the psychological apparatus. The opinion that one's personal identity is existent being the principal delusion. In forgetting one's intellectual identity the switch to the Unborn is instantaneously seamless. I am not necessarily referring to sudden enlightenment. This is how we know there are no two minds. Forgetting "your" mind is all anyone need do. Why can't people conceive of this mind? Not simply because it is inconceivable— they simply cannot bear to conceive of giving up this greedy, petty, domineering ego-mentality for an instant, that's why. Why? Because this "your" mind is in charge of the organism. It is utterly afraid of relinquishing its self-created invention beyond the valid functions it serves.. This is why I said "… independence is surreptitiously reclaimed by gradual refinement processes by the will to nonpsychological open sincerity…". YA GOTTA WANT IT ENOUGH TO TAKE IT BACK. By the way, the eastern cultures have never had a leg-up on the west in terms of reclaiming the source of sanity in this regard— in spite of their being "ready" for its ancient and continuous flowering in order to finally re-introduce its wisdom teachings to the west of late. This is the only reason for the world's bobbing esoteric schools in the first place— to keep the knowledge alive. Reality shouldn't be a mystery, but it is …and no one really knows why. But it's true, people other than spiritual adepts don't know what they themselves mean by mind outside of the human mentality— if at all, with any kind of effective analytical knowledge of experience. Freud and Jung thought they were pioneers in this regard and in their study of the eastern classics (without any effective merit of grounding in those ancient cultures), had no idea that the "east" had the "west" beat in the field of "deep psychology" by a few millennia (and here I consider the roots of Pharonic Egypt "east"). That's not the fault of the Greek&Roman thing— or even the Christian thing. Constantine's world power at the crossroads of east and west which finally put a certain strain of Christianity in the mainstream was very effective in killing (literally) the authentic mystery teachings embedded in the west's spiritual lexicon (again including Egypt's as well as the Fertile Crescent's embedded underlying traditions in that mix. Militant Islam seems to have done its best to have cleaned up the rest outside of the Sufi schools. Even in the Eastern hemisphere, which has ageless traditions of mind-sciences imbedded in its cultures (and insane population densities rimming their land-masses), haven't ever and aren't presently about to ever benefit from this seeming "advantage". It is simply because it is not possible to pursue the craving psychotic mentality and rest in sane energy at the same time. No culture has a monopoly on delusion. I don't even bother to differentiate in terms east/west. My eyes aren't slanted and I had no problem at all sinking into and penetrating the mystery outside of waiting and willing. I don't cut anyone any slack in that regard. The standard is enlightenment. There has never been any other mind. The answer is: East Mountain walks on water, yet still we mount an ass in order to find it.❤ ed note: fix last line

I hope more bums contribute to your wonderful thread, sun!!❤ I hope I do too!! Passing Notes I'd spell it out— leave your ear stinging but there's no reason… and so forgetting cause there's just wonder. They all say you know the way but I want to hear it coming from you …like thunder. Our own mouths can melt metal, but who could forge an open secret like you? Whisper me homeless pearly words when we meet in the middlle in the middle of nowhere. I'll sing you rungs of hollowpoint leaned against the new moon by passerine nightbirds. I'll talk you down from siamese heights and then I will house you beyond the veils …yonder. ed note: correct the grammar in my salutation! Differentiate the dialogue with italics per Basher's suggestion
