  2. the Tao isn't taoist

No one knows Tao. The unattributable is beyond culture. Just the light of awareness itself is the source of all authentic teaching. Can anyone say how many awarenessess there are? The number one sickness of believers is attachment to teaching tradition. The number one sickness among those who actually observe mind is taking a temporary emptiness of their thieving psychological apparatus as the shining mind. Though there is only one mind, ignorance has covered over the light of awareness in such a way as to habituate ordinary people in a mode of consciousness that uses true awareness to create illusion where there is none to begin with. There are those who insist that reality is the province of wonderful scraps of paper from a certain part of the world during a definite time period. These are the people who refer to wonderful scraps of paper. These people bleed their lives away interpreting wonderful scraps of paper without ever finding out how the originators of those wonderful scraps created them in the first place. They don't even wonder. How much further from the source of the experience of the creators of the wonderful scraps of paper are these paupers of interpretation? Then these same recreational philosophers can cough up a conceit so presumptuous, they must assure themselves that something else cannot be it (as well). These people cannot conceive that the achievement of non-being which is the realization of nonorigination is none other than this self-same no one, whereby inconceivability becomes aware of itself. Is it Tao? Who knows? No one knows. ed note change second part of penultimate line
  3. Off-topic content

I am a member of a technical forum (not this one), that has developed a highly evolved and enforced concept of what off-topic means. Simply put, off-topic posts are not tolerated. Period. It doesn't matter how passionately and sincerely you want to find out. You must address the topic appropriately or start your own thread to do so. The point here is that until a more strict and enforced concept of what off-topic means and is continuously and earnestly cultivated into the very fabric of this organization, there will continue to be those who insist on using threads (that they themselves do not originate) for what amounts to essentially flippant comments. Why don't people start their own threads if their comments are so important (to them)? I am asking the moderators to start doing just that for these trolls. Then they will get into the habit of exercising some discernment before they post. Until the bums have no intention of uselessly commenting off-topic because they know it doesn't work, they will continue to hazard the nearest, mindlessly habitual opportunity to do so. It's human nature. ed note: fix penultimate line
  4. the Tao isn't taoist

Dear, if you consider the topic of my threads for the last four years as "philosophical taoism", you are more clueless than Marblehead. Really! How about sticking to the topic and not trying to pretend to portray yourself as some kind of objective peacemaker, ok?❤
  5. the Tao isn't taoist

And a big thanks for that contribution, mr buddha.❤ You know, people, the only thing that bothers me is that it detracts from the thread. If you aren't conscious of that, it's not really my problem. It's your forum. Let me get a laugh in~ hahahahahahahhahaa!!❤❤❤ ed note: silly me
  6. the Tao isn't taoist

Moving right along… The subject of this post is not just the fact that Taoism isn't taoist …further to the point it is that as I have already stated above, that the source of the authentic teachings this planet has ever produced is by wisdom itself; that is, the selfless light of nonoriginated awareness. This is not by a country or time. In most recent history it has been attributed to various personages and locales, but for those who have seen their nature and for those who will aspire to enlightening being, to be attached to teachers and teaching traditions, words and even the transcendent experience itself is to render the operational power and potential effect of enlightening activity stillborn. For me to take the time and trouble to say so in so many words is in direct response to Marblehead's seemingly incredulous assertion that the inner teachings imbedded in and practiced before what has now become the recognized Chinese spiritual classics in their current form (i.e.: the formalized chapters of the TTC or the current King Wen sequence of the I Ching for example), ARE NOT TAOIST. Marblehead asserts that real Taoism is only the literalist expression of these classics.. ed note: add "for example" in last paragraph
  7. Off-topic content

Bagua, your last line is absolutely unfounded. I hope you will make a note to do eventually something about the person calling me a cunt on my thread, ok? For the record, that would be off-topic. Furthermore, after writing two long posts about The tao not being taoist (nor originating because of Han culture), a wise guy posted that taoism really came from brahmic culture— how topical to my thread is that? That is simply a flippant and untrue conditional refutation of the function of enlightening activity as being derivative of a culture. To say so on a thread devoted to the fact that there is no ultimate cultural derivation of selfless wisdom proves that the first post I reported is off-topic. Again, the point here is that until a more strict and enforced concept of what off-topic means and is continuously and earnestly cultivated into the very fabric of this organization, there will continue to be those who insist on using threads (that they themselves do not originate) for what amounts to essentially flippant comments. I love that there are techs~ can't live without you, but this is a job for moderation in the technical sense. The culture of this forum is not conducive to production of deep original material. There is a need to make changes for the benefit of all the people interested in reading the material— not just the minority of registered bums. And that is why I will not consider a ppf for reasons already explained in other posts on this subject. You think you work pretty hard around here? What am I doing that anybody else is doing consistently and on this uncommon subject. Think about it, because you simply cannot appreciate the issues that contributors of original in-depth material are facing every time we log on to this forum because you have not experienced it yourself. So~ if you think I mind your flippant and lazy regard for the word cunt on my thread, think again, because I don't give a flying fuck if you don't, cherie.❤ ed note: add last paragraph
  8. Off-topic content

Original material is not up for discussion unless the response is ON-TOPIC, Bagua. Now do listen to what I suggest. You yourself do not author anything. You have NO CONCEPT of the issues involving authoring original material. THERE USED TO BE A CONTRIBUTED ARTICLES SECTION THAT STOOD ON ITS OWN. Now it has no meaning. Off-topic is not necessarily dissension, note the earlier comment I reported. It is simply off-topic. Now Celestial's post? Give me a break. Until this board cultivates a measure of precision, there will continue to be this current state of affairs.
  9. the Tao isn't taoist

And lets forget the part about whatever anyone cares to assert as the true earthly origins of enlightening practices as that is utterly unfounded hyperbole not to mention off-topic, ok dear? Got that, mr buddha? That's because knowledge of subtle operation is not by a country and to discuss any culturally derived origin theory pertaining to the source of any wisdom teaching is ABSOLUTELY OFF-TOPIC. The topic of this thread is the Tao is not Taoist. I HAVE NOTIFIED THE MODERATORS TO REMOVE YOUR POSTS, mr buddha. ed note: found out mr brahmic cultivation's title is a link
  10. the Tao isn't taoist

Not speaking about any ultimate sense, but outside of its name, Taoism isn't a thing. Ego isn't even a thing~ it is a natural function that has developed and no one knows why. It works. And that, is all it is supposed to do— Outside of fundamental teaching techniques early in a child's life~ training it (ego) to fulfill its necessary function, further validation ought not become a compensatory need, much less a habit that in turn continues to take over to the tune of its conditioned predilection. The problem is when natural functions are made out to be things due to arbitrary activity in the name of reason. Reason is connected to rational thought. Self reifying concepts are built on words. In terms of return, which is the operational function of the Tao, when one forgets words, the fundamental being that is going to die reverts to its source. It is that simple. No words, no person: poof. How hard is it to forget words? No one knows. When you see essence; your nature, you realize the implication of having forgotten words for an instant~ for beginningless kalpas your fundamental selfless identity has never had a reason for even the absence of nothing. This is the realm that Chuangtzu refers to as Nothing Whatsoever. This is not Taoism even if Taoist teaching names it. It is just a reference to a mystery that ordinary people are able to experience themselves. Do not become attached to names. They're w-o-r-d-s. That the king of recreational philosophers can't see this~ and I'm happy for his short-sightedness, is due to a lifetime of resting his mind in thought. This is indicative of a mind habituated to rationalism. Nevertheless, even though I have to believe that Chuangtzu discovered Nothing Whatsoever himself, as I did~ this realm was not discovered by anyone for the first time. No one has always known this. So marbles is exactly correct when he says (insert word here) isn't (insert word here). That's not philosophy. It's just being unable to support his mind on anything other than thought. For all his 20,000 posts, various titles and functions he has provided here on this forum, he has yet to grasp the fact that he has failed to plant that useless crooked-tree seed in the homeland of Nothing Whatsoever. I can say that with absolute authority because if the dear man had done so, he must have been able to see this realm. And what would there be to stop him from reporting it as I do? Let him eat his dead words to his dying day. Not Taoist indeed. Nothing Whatsoever is the uncreated. Inasmuch as it does not exist, how could it be anything else? If marbles could be any more specific when he states that (insert word here) isn't (insert word here), in terms of what it is he is denying its inclusion in (his tidy little east-coast anglo-american bastardization of something he has no idea of in the first place outside of some narrow myopic concept copped from w-o-r-d-s), then at least people would be able to appreciate the extent of his specious grasp of what (insert word here) is. But I digress…❤ Since the Tao isn't taoist, then all teachings attributed to it aren't either, ultimately. Though it is necessary to refer to them as such (and rightly so), nevertheless, it should not turn into a crutch for one who refuses to evolve out of sheer mental laziness. The cause of mental laxity becoming a concretion of awareness is predilection evolving into habit-energy. It is efficient to name. Naming serves a valid function in that it saves energy and it saves time. It saves lives too. But outside of that, the predilection of most people is to sink into laziness turning an efficiency into a bloated back-log of conceptual detritus. Self-refinement isn't Taoist. Wisdom itself has left behind a secret for those who have the unbending aspiration, the will to enlightenment. There has never been a wisdom teaching on the face of this earth that has been left behind by prior enlightening beings that wasn't the effect of the light of awareness itself, inasmuch as people themselves are just this light itself. The Light of Awareness is not Taoist. All the wonderful scraps of paper attributed to the originators of the authentic teachings of the entire world since time immemorial and beyond— that is to say specifically the mysteries of unwritten and wordless transmissions outside of doctrine and convention are the source of all the classics and there is no one here with authority to refute that. How could anyone even begin to experientially refute the source of the esoteric and exoteric classics as there is nothing whatsoever to speak of outside of the living knowledge (not the dried-up dead words of rationalists) that fully enlightening beings matured in thoroughly circumstantial traditions are responsible for keeping alive and introducing adaptively into the world according to conditions. When has just this not been the case? It has long been acknowledged by adepts of the three main Chinese traditions and universally understood by anyone with even a nominally cultured upbringing on the street that their source is the same. This is completely lost on Marblehead. He never knew. Some sheltered white boy in Florida knows WTF Taoism is and isn't. No one knew. ed note: add "(ego)" in first paragraph

  12. Setting up Host and Guest

❤!! dawei said: Well, I am affected by the world's pounding so I have to tune it out~ especially here. It's not easy being in the coocoo's nest. But it is necessary to be absolutely vulnerable and wide-eyed in terms of being subject to circumstances in order to absorb it fully. One cannot be an "absentee buddha". Assessing chaos in a single turn is all fine and dandy, but the world doesn't get it immediately (if at all). That's not its job. One must step right up to it and meet it on its terms spontaneously without reservations. There is no time to reflect in the insanity, but a subtle sobriety must permeate the response. It's like stretching the fabric of stillness to match the pattern of neurotic speed in terms of the situation. It's NOT easy!! But the part about about it not being easy isn't in the moment of response, it is in its aftermath. In terms of host and guest, where other is primary and self is secondary and one has absorbed the potential of the temporary event, this is when the leading edge of the killing yin energy has initiated its cycle. What is difficult is eliminating intellectualism and withdrawing into innocent silence to refine the gathered potential. This is where not entertaining feelings and thoughts comes to the fore when describing alchemy. Spiritual alchemy is a constantly alternating process of advance and withdrawl. Not minding too much comes before, where one uses a balance of psychological and nonpsychological awareness leading up to the yin convergence; not minding at all comes after, where one forgets feelings and thoughts and calmly nurtures the elixir in the silent harmony of the empty vessel formed by sincere open intent. Before and after are not to be mixed up! ed note: add text below the heavy heart I left for Brian
  13. Setting up Host and Guest

His is a many-layered phrase, but yes, dawei, setting up the process using the strategy of host and guest is precisely the context for enacting enlightening function in the midst of the world deliberately to gather and refine the medicines, enter reality and carry out tasks in secret. What makes this possible is seeing the unborn potential in the very heart of karmic existence. So in sinking into this worldly thing fully, we rest in its potential while not speculating in it as ordinary people do. That's the only difference between buddhas and ignoramuses. The one goes along and the other goes in reverse. Reality itself is just one sameness, one light, one Suchness, comprising creation and its potential. This comes from the Way. Being in the world yet not of it is just following this middle way, the Great Vehicle and enacting subtle function within its seamless unity. All this true~ isn't it a shame that most people are so quick to leave themselves out of the equation? i.e.: "the source of his being", but not theirs. Knowing the truth is indeed a protection because doubt ceases to be, even if one's realization in terms of its inconceivability continues to fascinate in the aftermath of the sudden. This is the reason for the "ten months of incubation" to solidify the achievement in secret silence and seeking a teacher to certify and help guide the maturity of one's knowledge. Only then can one "empty out openness and enter the tao in reality, physically and spiritually sublimated". Otherwise one forms an attachment to this faint glimmer of the absolute and cannot return to live unified within the midst of the world to carry out advance gradual practice after realization. There is no separate reality. Mind is one. The world is reality itself. It's just that enlightening being doesn't indulge in illusion for self-gratification but instead uses the world to refine one's own potential before helping others. The device of the host and guest enables setting up the world as a venue to actualize an enlightened relationship with it in order to make the world a living aid to self-realization and not a death-sentence. ed note: change "seek" to "seeking" in 6th paragraph
  14. Setting up Host and Guest

As one deepens entry into the path of immortality through setting up host and guest, one naturally and effortlessly cuts through worthless cloying petty seductions as if they don't exist and can then find chance-illusions worthy of one's destiny; worthy of one's self-refinement of the indestructible body of awareness; one will find worthy opponents and petty despots to operate the tongs and forge of the inner immaterial alchemical workshop. Arriving at the task of host and guest, one finds an indefatigable device for self-refinement. For those who arrive here, the world is an enlightened teacher. ed note~ hi Bagua!
  15. Please Explain this Experience

Yes, it is her own conscious awareness as mr lotus says. When lovely mysterious events occur such as these, if there is a who to experience not-you, then it's not true~ it's just the you whose thieving mind has yet to wink out. It is not reality. I never meditated so I didn't have meditative experiences. My strangenesses occurred in real-life (haha) and instead of stooping to fascination, I would just acknowledge the event as it's just me anyway. It didn't stop the events (my deal is being visited by flying, bumping li'l silvery flamey things that circle at night time when I'm in bed and penetrate my body with a interesting sparkly fizz), but the point is not to engage in fascination when these things happen. Just shrugging it off immediately as it is noted is my suggestion for these experiences. When it happened once again a few years ago, I was not amused… I don't even entertain ideas, much less illusory bodies dallying with this illusory body.
  16. On to the Vaulted Horizon

Attraction leads us Right to the brink Again and again and again Only shameless haecceity charms the hidden interval. Holy Mirror, lover of god Primal field endlessly empty Naturally out of space potential Comes the glinting radial prism. Aloof clouds on the blue sky haze the oceanic compass On to the vaulted horizon.

  18. Sinking into it

No longer seeking reality one establishes the basis of one's own mind which has no mind to seek. When it is up to you alone there is no inside or outside to deliberate neither absolute nor conditional~ Response is naturally so. Once one establishes the basis of nothing outside going in and nothing inside coming out the world reverts to reality within your own selfless nature~ who is there to know? The realm beyond decision is the basis of inherent reality without beginning. Through thick and thin you just sink into it in the midst of ordinary situations. Self-perpetuated agitation never resolving is the habit-energy of the human mentality. When you get to sinking in, it is proof habitual functions have begun to evaporate of themselves. Self-identity and the basis of reality are mutually exclusive yet mind is one. The point here is that the one who picks and chooses is the product of habit-energy. Abandoning the self-perpetuating habit is a long process of refining the mind until there is no longer any psychological momentum to manifest its virtual function, whereby one sees its real substance. The death of the self is the life of the spirit. This is the fact of realization. Thinking is useful for clarifying. When you clear it up, forget it. If instead you cannot stop using insight, you destroy potential and so lose the point of clarification. This is the inability to dispense with intellectualism at the right time. If you still have a mind to complain it is because you lack the will to penetrate. Open sincere intent is the epicenter of completely real human being. To seek this is to be lost on the point of infinitesimal proportions.
  19. Sinking into it

oh youz word-swappers are sso guuud!!❤
  20. Sinking into it

There is a strategy left behind by prior illuminates that a bum helped me bring up in a PM. It shares the same terminology as the system of ranks as developed in aspects of Chan, but its application is unique in terms of Complete Reality taoist practice. It is called setting up the other as host and taking the self as the guest. I will start another thread called Host and Guest.
  21. On to the Vaulted Horizon

hahahaa!! ohh❤ The vision of untrammeled freedom without bias or inclination is indeed as you have presented the query, Apech!
  22. On to the Vaulted Horizon

Of course, Apech~ I have not read Whitman. It's from some old writings I've done. I find them here and there as I have gotten rid of pretty much everything over the years. If that last line is Whitman, then I can see what you mean!!
  23. Climb up steep things. No need to get very high off the deck …just steep. Sea-cliffs, boulders and some kinds of architecture are good for this kind of thing. We used to call it buildering. This tends to clear the cobwebs from ones mind~ when in doubt, go higher. I like to do traverses, but down-climb before you fall off or get arrested. haha!!❤ ed note: add "up" to first line and the rest below
  24. On to the Vaulted Horizon

What passes through refining movement Penetrates the wordless instructor~ What admits the bright result Is our selfless open awareness. Aloof clouds on the blue sky haze the oceanic compass. On to the vaulted horizon. Eye to eye, the two things embrace, and though god has no escape~ the demiurge has to let you by. His beard is full, but you're not! Though he operates the curtains, he might as well be a bell-hop. You kiss him on his bald head and, as he blushes …you pass through to cavort with the clouds in broad daylight. Who notices the whitecaps, each numberless anonymous event, leading… on to the vaulted horizon.
  25. On to the Vaulted Horizon

Holy Mirror, lover of god Primal field endlessly empty Naturally out of space potential Comes the glinting radial prism. Have you no sense? If you do, this is a scene you will never see. There is no other, but then who's love shines all the more without the barriers we have settled into through the deep grooves of time? Eternity has not a shred of distance~ like one solid whole without inside or outside. Even so, it moves; it has a breath, is life and awareness itself. Space is black, but not as black as potential; creation is white, but not as bright as your inconceivable nature. When it comes out of dim depths and you see the liquid pearl …who knows?
