  1. Nothing has been confirmed. Science stumbles on lots of things… it will forget soon enough.❤
  2. "Compassion means skillful action" - huh?

Skillful means is the key word here. Compassion is the redundancy. Someone here needs to decide what the context is. If the context is buddhism of enlightened skillful means, Taomeow has set us on the correct context of application. Emotionalism is ill-suited to approach the necessities of even conventional effective compassion, much less that of skillful means arriving at the middle way of open clear sincerity. Skillful means is the goal of compassionate enlightening activity adapting to circumstances. Its application is spontaneous, suited to and accomplished within the context of the situation itself. What is accomplished is the freeing of potential from the matrix of karmic evolution. In practical terms, skillful means is compassion in action because one sees the situation in terms of the situation itself without engaging selfish projection. Skillful means is the epitome of compassion in that the effect is impeccable efficiency without extraneous cloying psychological ramification.
  3. Sticking to the Inevitable

Formal meditation is like learning to fly. Eventually you see the world is the sky.❤ When you begin to stop following your ideas And no longer accept traces of mundanity You continue adapting to conditions While awaiting the cues of potential. By sticking to the inevitability of the timing While not interrupting characteristics of phenomena You begin to discover the strange affinities In concert with their hidden periods. Even before seeing essence The accomplishment is a model for the work: Suddenly one enters innocence Innocence more that life itself. Then you smile from inside out~ only now you know there is no one to know. The work after the accomplishment is realizing Enlightenment is no one who is, nor who is not thus So Complete Reality is where people openly accord Where people pull the arm back to become buddhas And buddhas take the forward step to become people. Now at such a time, the alchemical furnace and cauldron Are set up again in order to initiate advance operation: In surpassing this you eliminate inner vision entirely. In sublimating oneself physically and spiritually One knocks over the polar mountain And shatters cosmic space Becoming the same as reality. Suddenly, as the gradual arrives complete Reality is always naturally on the brink. Magnanimously changing along with conditions One awaits the inevitable: Holding fast or letting go Who can stop you? ed note: add coma in 6th paragraph
  4. Sticking to the Inevitable

There is the inevitability of stopping and seeing in terms of each situation's cycle of yin and yang. Awaiting the inevitable is not a matter of idly sitting by, but adapting to maintain psychological equipoise and withdrawing at the first sign of the killing yin energy.
  5. G'day folks ! :D

    hi❤
  6. Treating everyone as a Buddha

Oi❤ Since you are yourself a buddha, only you don't know it, there wouldn't be any change in you if you did, so you would never have to be treated like a buddha~ isn't that convenient, hmmmm?!!❤❤ You wouldn't even have to buy new shoes (unless you're a girl)!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone's enlightened essence shines unobstructed from time to time, but is then again lost in the course of habit energy coming to the fore reacting to stimulus and random thought coming from nowhere from time immemorial and beyond. It is the gradual process of self-refinement leading to sudden realization and its subsequent careful maturation that solidifies the achievement and stabilizes subtle awareness above the once dominant ego-reflective intellectually habituated mentality.
  7. Treating everyone as a Buddha

oh thank you so much, sinasencer❤
  8. Treating everyone as a Buddha

Perhaps it would be more effective if people would endeavor to treat themselves as buddhas unbeknownst to anyone to the point where they actually find out for themselves what it means to be a buddha. Then they can solidify that realization for ten to twenty years before even beginning to talk about it to others. I've seen an empty room full of buddhas. They don't do anything!! If people would stop acting out arbitrary ideas dependent on conventional ideals, that would be precisely what it means to treat themselves as a buddha. Conventional mores are very reasonable. ya, I got that. But buddhahood has nothing to do with conventional mores. Its about seeing reality as is. In four years I have less than a thousand posts. I even hesitated to comment on this thread… but it was too juicy to resist. It's not like bullyhood is my main venue. Enlightenment is a matter of interrupting the beginningless flow of one's inherited and learned conditioned awareness. I aim to jog the human mentality in people. So those who strive to treat themselves as a buddha do not leave anyone out. The distinction may seem small, but the difference is inconceivable.
  9. Treating everyone as a Buddha

Ya but i use muuuuch less space and you don't have to understand anything~ heehee!!❤
  10. Treating everyone as a Buddha

I say don't act like this so I don't. Y'all say act like this and you don't. Ha! Y'all are some bunch a buddhas if there ever was…❤
  11. Treating everyone as a Buddha

hahahahhahahhahahahhahahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahhahahhahahahahhahahahhaaah!!!! if ya'll wuz a buddha I'd spit in my hand and rub it in your faces. But yer not.❤ I have not misinterpreted anything.
  12. Treating everyone as a Buddha

I have never heard an instance where a buddha or enlightened being treated any body like a buddha. Buddhas treat buddhas like a drunken drunk treats his fellow drunken drunk— they spit and cuss and laugh like only drunks can …either that or one gets left for dead in the street.. How could an ignoramus possibly know what like a buddha is? That's within the province of seeing your nature. When you see your buddha-nature, you don't have to act like. The whole like a buddha premise is some kinda socialist bullshit shit. God damn you people are so full of it. Know yourself. I DARE you.
  13. Assessing a Sickness called "My Life"

Actually the desire for family and such is very much about fear of being forgotten, or a bit more subtle is the fear of missing out on something. This is ego generated neurosis and it is directly connected to the conventional method of immortality. Spiritual refinement also follows desires but instead of external sex to create an infant, adepts join the primordial energies within themselves and create a spiritual immortal. Same quest, elevated means. Desire is a wonder. Craving is the gremlin that destroys natural reality. It's source is called the human mentality. Dismiss the human mentality and contentment is all that's left. But its roots are manifold and they keep coming back. There is a way to cut it off at the tap-root. It's called self-refinement. All that is required is unbending intent.❤ ed note: typo in 2nd paragraph
  14. Assessing a Sickness called "My Life"

Actually a good point. You can actually control the degree of obstruction the situation can handle in terms of following desires. Turn it on or dial it back. It's up to you. Obstacle are most definitely self-generated~ just by being present. There are no innocent bystanders. There are also no survivors. If you can be content with the inherent goodness of just being and enter a situation intuitively in its muddy stages (you stir it up just by being at first) and watch the situation clarify itself, then you can be apart of the organism. But there is no telling what will evolve. It's a matter of trusting your luck. Sages start "work" in the incipience of a situation and wait. The 3rd hexagram talks about the difficulties. Also consult Chuang Tzu's "The True Men" for insight into those who may have plans and desires to carry out. Nothing beats not having ideas. Selfish motives however altruistic they may be will never qualify as spontaneous. That's why enlightening activity is adapting to conditions as they evolve within the natural timing of creation's trends. Meeting the needs of the times is the way to incur the least amount of obstruction. "Perfection is easy easy for those with no preferences".
  15. Assessing a Sickness called "My Life"

I added another line to my post above before getting to your post, K. I don't know what precipitated your comment about silent sound, love/its reverse and what you see as an agreement. Could you clarify what, in your view, constitutes agreement? Are you an innocent bystander in making this observation, or do you have something invested? Seeing as how hydrogen isn't concerned with the stringless tune at this point, only his attachments and relative comparisons of self and other that facilitate obstacles to enlightening being. I know the absolute divorced from the delusional human condition won't address these issues (if that's what you mean by your reference to silent sound) There seems to be no wonder of it all, only the gravity of sentimental awareness that sets up conflicting emotions relative to his idea of what a "method" arriving at selfless realization and ensuing enlightening being might entail. The dilemma is self-perpetuated because hydrogen does not see potential free of conditions that not only enables, but requires a natural response in order to pass through situations without pandering to others' or insinuating one's own karmic airs. It is this kind of enlightening activity that frees self and other from within the living context of actual situations. Situations themselves are self-contained in terms of the time where one sets to work. Concern over others' powerful exhibitions and spiritual stunts doesn't have a place in the life of a charmed existence. One meets creation with the potential inherent in the situation itself openly, sincerely and precisely, with nothing outside of oneself to rely on as nothing is outside oneself. There are no isolated solutions to life's problems in that the continuum of reality is causeless; one either goes along with cloying conditions or one meets them with an inconceivable, spontaneous strategy of whole selfless adaptability. Everything resolves in the Unborn, the homeland of nothing whatsoever, the storehouse of potential. This is enlightening being's point of reference, not the trends of the times, the apparitions of the matrix of created karmic evolution, which subtle operation transcends by spontaneous selfless adaption. Worldly notions of loving or its reverse have no direct bearing in terms of expressing entry into the tao in reality. The absolute could be called pure impersonal love for that matter, but chaos must be assessed at every turn. One must know the Changeless to stand subtly outside karma's evolutionary cycles. ed note: dang, when I finished, I forgot where I started!
  16. How wonderful, Scott!! What ever you do, make it subtle. Reality is subtle. Entry is subtle. The breath should be subtle …seemingly existent, virtually nonexistent~ no different than the way. Whatever is going on you watch subtly for the subtleties, then you will be aware of the subtle changes, both inside and outside and be able to follow them, matching your potential to the reality. From beginning to end, I am not just speaking of meditation, only the style of adapting to conditions. Keeping a subtle continuous concentration, after a long time, you return. When you reach sufficiency, withdraw energy and rest in silence. Then you re-enter the marketplace.❤
  17. Assessing a Sickness called "My Life"

deci belle, on 12 January 2013 - 08:30 AM, said: I'll tell you this, unless you are ready to watch this world from afar even as you grapple with it intimately, longing will only get you a deferred sentence which you are presently living out in this breath, unawares. Try to stop comparing self and others. They have never existed. This is a bad habit you ought to drop before you take another breath or think another thought. Longing will only accomplish imprisoning you in this world. Enlightened or not, there is no escape. Either you are aware of it or not. Your nature is causeless. Why are you giving cause to continued illusory existence? Detaching from appearances is not a method, it is inconceivable strategy. If your will to enlightenment is weak, you will succumb to your self-generated illusory existence and drag your family along with it. Forget the excuses. Your obstacles are self-generated. Drop them. Nothing has ever been gained or lost by complete perfect enlightenment. Why fear that dropping your selfish habitual attachments to your relationship with karmic existence will somehow harm your spiritual refinement? Changing your orientation with the conditioned flow of karmic evolution will simply free you from further karmic evolution. Will that be easier than going along with it? Is it easier to be awake or asleep? How do you know? When did you find out? The fact is you don't know. Is your plan to wait for the easiest method to bump into you and wonder what Jesus would do? Wake up! Purity and detachment are a raft to the other side. Once you reach the other side you just jump into the deep end and forget the raft. There is no safety. There is no easy way. Detach from appearances as you adapt to conditions in everyday ordinary situations using objective awareness gained by forgetting emotional consciousness. I don't envy you. I had to do it, that's why I know. Good luck with that, hydrogen.❤ Actually it's the easiest thing in the world when you have no choice~ and that's what it comes down to. ed note: add last line
  18. The Continuum of Meditation

I pulled this response to a thread about concentration and insight I made and put it here. When concentration and insight are spoken of together in meditation manuals, they are not properly limited to techniques gaining entry to single-mindedness, The breath is used as an expedient device because undisciplined mind needs something at first to rely on— where it is described as using the sickness itself as the medicine. Eventually, the breath should be forgotten in terms of being used as an aid in gaining entry to single minded concentration and insight into aware nature. Meditation is attaining single mindedness; it doesn't have to be deliberate. As such, meditation based on anything is a temporary expedient because aware nature itself is concentration and insight all-at-once without having to be broken down into two things based on observation of breath, thoughts, movement, stillness, etc… But at first we could say meditation is concentration and single-mindedness is insight, because one leads to the other. There are many pairs of terms describing the relationship between concentration and insight. Another term denoting this pair used in manuals is stopping and seeing. They are like one to the other; like respiration itself, alternating endlessly. This is no different than movement and stillness. Movement takes place on the in and out breaths, but it is the stillness that is the alternation between the breaths, so it is not just the alternating direction of the breathing itself …watching this and letting it go …and then letting the letting go too. So the alternations and the relationships constituting the alternations become more and more subtle as practice deepens. Concentration, stopping, stillness; insight, seeing, movement. Because awareness itself is what is unborn, is the primordial itself, we use conditioned awareness (the sickness) to enter the inconceivable (the medicine). Awareness itself is inconceivable, its contents relative. So in this regard, we stop the conditioned aspect to see the absolute. Once we see the absolute, we do not then cling to insight, nor do we cling to the relative. The ultimate is seeing the real from within the conditioned as a natural fact of being aware. Stopping aberrant views results in seeing reality as is, no longer in terms of self and other in everyday ordinary situations.
  19. The Continuum of Meditation

So reality becomes suchness when we can see the real as constituting everyday ordinary situations. It is not true as some say that there are so many definitions of "suchness". It is just this as is. When you see this, there has never been aother reality. Then the raft of endless books of literal translations is overthrown in the sea of its own making. It is not that reality looks different than illusion in terms of enlightening being, it is a matter of no longer viewing externals as a separate reality because seeing entails accepting the knowledge that the created is nothing but illusion, ourselves included. So what is reality? There is no other. So what is illusion? Just what we make of it. When we don't use illusion, when we don't speculate in it, it turns into reality. This is the meaning of the saying, "Don't use what you can see; use what you don't see." When we don't use what is visible, we alter our relationship with creation and divorce ourselves from habitual speculations in the created. We don't stop responding to situations, we don't stop following desire— we just don't step over the line and fall into selfish views of self and other. Just this practice is the highest meditation of all beyond self, other, created and absolute. Who has the fortitude to realize the independence and inconceivable freedom allowing one to take over creation, step over eternity and arrive at the path of prior illuminates? When you see your nature, your teacher awaits you on the rise. Just take the single forward step that traverses eternity and accept your function. ed note: "don't use illusion, when we don't speculate in it" in 6th paragraph
  20. The Dao De Jhing is a shamanistic treatise

and the source of yours, hmmmmm? Your dialogue with Chi is off-topic seeing as this thread is titled "The TTC is a shamanic treatise" Furthermore, since the source of the TTC is not words and I know the source of the TTC, your comment is the height of literalist conceit— not to mention utter hypocrisy (if you know it too). Kindly take this exercise in literalist jargon to the translation section where it belongs. Or are you too full of words over there and you need the space? If so, carry on~ we have plenty of space here.❤
