Yes! There are some fantastic commentary on LaoTzu from before the time it was compiled into chapters and revered as it is today. It's very fashionably thin. I wish it was twice as thick! heehee❤ ed note: I just had to add the word, "fashionably".
  2. Going Tribal?

Just do what you can when you can. There is no reason to put a deadline on that, lazy cloud.❤
  3. Blinding Desire for Past Mind-States

Don't cling to one and reject the other; strive to be unminding in all situations. Reflect on the situation, not your states. When making ski-descents on dangerous terrain, you focus on where you want to go. You do not focus on where you don't want to go~ rocks and trees hurt!!❤ ed note: change second word from "desire" to "cling to".

    ❤!!
  5. Qi is not our target

    Yay, LBDaoist and exorcist-1699!!❤
  6. Judging Others

i sowwies!!❤ How 'bout~ "…until one gets into one's own impersonal tao…" What is lacking wisdom in this case is ordinary habitual craving grasping and calculating self-gratification of endless desires. This is to be pitied in others and swept away in oneself. ed note: add Jetsun's quote and following comment.
  7. Judging Others

Until one gets into one's own impersonal tao and eliminates karmic influences, one's tao is conditioned. An enlightening being's tao is one and the same. As one enters into and activates Virtue, it is not only a matter of transcendent knowledge but of using selfless nonpsychological awareness, which is spiritual. If we then use it to match potential in ordinary conditioned cycles of karmic energy (we call that a "situation"), judgments, per se, become superfluous in the light of immediate acquiescence. As far as judgement goes… Judgement is based on experience. The only way to get experience is to screw up. Making judgments and acting without experience is the only way to learn. It is most useful to assess objectively and act impersonally in situations— so as to maintain unminding. All manner of expression is valid in terms of unminding. If one's penetration of virtue is sufficient and solidified, selfless objectivity is discerning and one's expression effects a strategy of economy. Openness and sincerity are crucial touch-stones for dealing with situations without necessitating conditional judgement-reflexions. Those actually entering into and working through critical phases of alchemic practice must be wary of exercising intellectualism in everyday ordinary situations. Mara, the personification of conditional natural killing energy in karmic cycles is throwing everything it can to prevent the florescence of impersonal consciousness. Intellectualism is entertaining views i.e., judgments, opinions and thoughts of self and other. Exercising external political correctness (for those adherents of convention) is philistine. Not that an enlightening being would find any advantage in flaunting the unconventional in the streets. Not only because enlightening qualities are best kept concealed~ but because enlightening beings don't occupy anything~ nor does anything occupy them. Objectively assess oneself first; then assess other. If one knows oneself and other, that knowledge is objective; only then one can act or desist impersonally. Judge a person based on the person. Judge a situation base on the situation. It's not a matter of feelings or opinions— maybe it's like being that lazy cat.❤ ed note: my editor (Prof. Marblehead) prompted a full rewrite. So I did!
  8. Subtle Body

Hooray for western science~ gee, they're soooooo smart!!!❤
  9. The Pyramids of Giza represent the Sky in 10,500 BC

Awesome thread!❤ I love how Orion's belt points directly to the Pleiades where it is directly overhead in North America during Winter! I was very keen on Terence's Time-line Zero project (I think that's what he called it) involving his deep explorations with the mushroom (while his brother chaperoned), to develop the fractal wave based on the King Wen sequence of the I Ching hexagrams (the mushroom told him to put it on graph-paper). The work of Alfred North Whitehead was tied in with the development of that (periods of novelty were represented by the wave going down and periods of waning or stultification of potential showed the fractal wave going up). He eventually decided to calibrate the wave's chronology by tying it to the K-T boundary (when the dinosaurs died). Completely fascinating material. I saw Terence once and recorded talks he gave on it that were broadcast on KPFK, Los Angeles during the midnight to six a.m. radio program produced by Roy of Hollywood— but who knows where those recordings are now… that was around 1986~88. During the age of Leo, would the alignment of the buckle and the Giza Pyramids have any relation to a particular time of year (if that changes)? (ed note: I didn't record the talks— just the radio broadcasts!)

  12. "Spirit" - what is it?

Nonpsychologically aware. Immediately aware. Selflessly aware. Aware. Awake. Open. Unborn. Undying. Living awareness.

Selfless response is not a conventional courtesy. Courtesy is by way of social mores. Response is an adaption; it is so because there is something more to coexistence besides even mutual satisfaction. Effective compassion is not necessarily defined by the image of idealized models. Love that looks like love isn't necessarily the case. And love that doesn't look like love isn't necessarily so either. In a community where survival is a daily affair, a type of selfless coexistence comes quite naturally. In "developed" societies, where insularity is considered virtuous, "compassion" takes on a rather compartmentalized expression. I am because you are is essentially the great vehicle seen from the perspective of difference. From this perspective, it is natural to emphasize and value loving compassion in conventional terms. From the perspective of sameness, for those who do not equate selves-satisfaction as coeval with existential co-realities, there is something lying beyond cultural ideals. Buddhas do not keep precepts; neither do they break them.

  19. Why Taoism can change the world

hhahahhahahhahahha!!❤ I believe your efforts need redoubling or perhaps abandoning, Chi. You could actually begin to follow the tao instead of regurgitating it. A truly lamentable and ironic display of the shortcomings of intellect, sir.❤ (ed note: removed what was too sassy for words, heehee!!)
  20. A teacher of mine once told me this story.

    Yay!!❤ haha!!
  21. In search for true companions of the Way

Who's we? Who is the friend you refer to? Why is this a consistent referent? What does this person have to do with your self-refinement? And why are you looking for MORE friends? Harsh is relative, fatguy. Yet you are judgmental of those knowledgeable few who do not fit your preconceived criteria: Zero potential, huh? You have not set eyes on potential, oh picky one. Empty words? You beg the question. Again, the touch-stone for seeking is this: see essence on your own, THEN seek a teacher. Why? It is not found in others. Just call back other to your self. Essence is the self; Sense, true lead, real knowledge is found in other. Other is impersonal awareness. If you cannot grab metal out of water, you have no basis to work on. You have to get wet yourself before you can absorb the real in the false, and share with the other of others. Why do you keep coming up empty-handed? Who are you calling a hypocrite? The original schools were formed not for initiates, but for those who were accomplished— in other words, for those who had something to offer. If you are so empty-handed, why is that, hmmmm? As I told you before, you are overly afraid to make a mistake, which is ludicrous at this point because you have nothing to loose (nothing real to offer), because you have not accomplished anything real. You were whining six months ago and you are whining now. Did you re-post your original thread this time? You are in need of harshness and I am happy to oblige. I had a perceptive mind at one time, even with my walker and hearing aid, yet that did not stop me. I had no "friends". There were no others to ask, much less share the intimacies of self-refinement. No internet, no forums. I opened myself to the world. Reality is found in the heart of delusion. They are one and the same. Picking the real out of the false is alchemy. Looking for sympathy? How are you ever going to drop your skin-bag when you only want to take the world with you? You are only going to get sympathy from those who have not been where you claim you want to go. If you want to go there and do that yourself, you are going to have to get to work, dear.❤ (ed. note: hot-rod last two lines)
  22. Why Taoism can change the world

Without openness and sincerity there is no solution. Following and fulfilling nature is the fruition of destiny without end. This changed my world!❤
