I don't know how to rid others of their curses. Is it possible you yourself are the source of the curse? How much worse than the average person are your money and relationship problems? Maybe the psychic was fishing? Just some food for thought, dmattwads.❤

haha!!❤❤❤ thuscomeone said "Posted Today, 10:38 PM I think heartmind is just you as you are as a human being. Your five skandhas functioning and happening without all the dust (concepts) to obscure this simple happening. But that's just a guess." Surely. The effective function of balance and harmony, balanced before response and harmonized within events.

SereneBlue said "I've experienced this only once in my lifetime. At night. My breathing shut down completely and I mean completely. Unfortunately instead of simply watching quietly it made me very scared that I was dying." Awww… poor you!❤ That's what I call womb breathing. More often than not, I awaken to that state. It goes deeper, in terms of selfless awareness sometimes. Or other times, there are movements of energy inside the body that one directs in an intuitive fashion vaguely referred to in the alchemical manuals. I'm not aware of the technical usage of the term, heartmind. Usually it is some new-age emotional-consciousness loving-compassion sort of application, which, to me, is not the heartmind able to kill buddhas. The Art of War states that a skilled general has to have the heart to take hearts. I call this ruthless compassion, or selfless objectivity— which is the boon of selfless realization and subsequent repeated harmonization of one's light within the context of actual everyday ordinary situations. My studies have not countered the term "heartmind" as such, but as a powerful sounding referent, I suspect that in terms of the ultimate sense, it does not refer to a thing with a physical location. It is symbolic of an essential mystery of selfless non-origination outside of doctrine. dawel said "In the Book of poetry, it said XIN was the center of being." This sounds really good. In one of the Thomas Cleary books of the school of Complete Reality taoism, there is a short passage which may have relevance: "The reality whereby origin and completion are affected is the true intent of the human body, which has no location. Because it contains the impulse of life within it, it is called the center." This is a taoist description on par with Chan buddhist teaching which shares much of its core practice emphasis with the Northern School (Serene Branch) of Complete Reality. Is the heartmind term more closely derivative of the Indian buddhist tradition?— which probably has a plethora of interpretive layers…❤ (ed: finished quotation with " ").

A question to the Buddhist schollars.
deci belle replied to Seth Ananda's topic in General Discussion
Seth says they're talking about the same thing! Bravo! The thing is not their arguments. It is the middle way in action. Just seeing it is not sticking. Keep drilling into it Seth. I have nothing to say to you, thuscomeone— you are brilliance itself (what little I can grasp)!!❤ -
Hi star. The body of taoist teachings pertaining to self-refinement and the sciences of essence and life distilled from about the 11th century onward are a concentrated synthesis of buddhism, taoism and confucianism already. Lifeforce also includes two valuable resources in his signature: Ancestor Lu and The Secret of the Golden Flower. Ancestor Lu's work on energetics, alchemy and psychological hygiene is legendary. "The Secret of the Golden Flower" is very highly recommended, but only the most recent volume translated by Thomas Cleary and published by Harper Collins. Read it and you will know why earlier versions are to be avoided. Heuristics are the means and the arts of accomplishing what only you can find out by and for yourself. Spiritual refinement is no different. The school of Complete Reality taoism is essentially the same as tsao-dong Chan (soto in Japanese). It is not on par with practice primarily emphasizing energetics. It is preferable to do several years of research in all the traditions of Asia, not just the body disciplines specializing toward induction and energetics concentration. Certainly do get a solid grounding in the different types of yoga, tai chi, etc., as they are preparatory for powerful meditation work without having to experience needless setbacks or other issues of malpractice, ego-driven ambitions and general impatience for tangible results. Result oriented "practice" is most ineffective. Just today I received a nasty little letter from one such tyro who I and others have warned against this kind of immature approach to self-refinement. Trust your instincts, and take care, star.❤

The Lives of Clouds Potential augments and diminishes As preponderance and scarcity In gravity and degree of yin and yang. When evolutionary developments Congeal their clustering characteristic Energy stultifies into trends of momentum Expansion, contraction, rising and falling All the while open to inconceivable influences. Effecting perceptivity relative to ones opacity Experiential events combine as a created cycle Still comprised of living potential without definition This is the empty field wayfarers plow. To the capacity that one is able to function When one sees through events, people, things and thoughts One recognizes the flow of the breath and the pulse of life Within the knowledge of one's nature As situations crystalize according to the times Complete, whole and integral in principle. Then what is witnessed and carried out Held or released, revealed or resealed Mixed in or dispersed by oneself Is in response to the timing Of a situation's inherent organization Not one's own contrivance. Because it is not an hypothetical ideal But the natural function of the response body Of completely real enlightening beings There is spontaneously no effort. This is loosing oneself in humanity The real humanity in humanity which is not a person. Not a person is the quality of sameness Which is the selfless function of true intent The Virtue of the Receptive. Confucious meditated for a hundred days On a few concise words from LaoTzu To arrive at the gist of the matter Of which LaoTzu approved. Who can match the power of each individual in this regard? We habitually shill through bogs of words Like flocks flapping the world over Migrating from thought to thought Without stopping to conceive Penetration of authentic concentration.

Confucious said: "For a long time I have not lost myself in the common humanity, and without losing oneself in the common humanity, how can I teach humanity?" It seems to be a reiteration of "softening the light", and harmonizing the light— also it is an exhortation (when appropriate in general social situations), to avoid entertaining views, opinions, judgements, ie: a selfish perspective. Who can rail against an empty boat? —but to the point, how better a way to understand the reality one is in, than to "get lost" in it.. Also, It is essential to not become confused in dealing with ordinary affairs. In Lu Tung-pin's "Hundred Character Tablet", he states in lines four and five that: Real constancy should respond to people In responding to people, it is essential not to get confused. We could consider harmonizing within ordinary situations and adapting to conditions in order to find out what is really happening, or what has really happened, without prejudice— is a teacher's research done in secret. Eventually one can really begin to operate and adapt knowledgeably within the context of a potential reality to see a way to be believed and influential, ie: not employing negation exclusively within a situation. In a way, what is there to do, anyway? If it's home stay. If not, desist. The Art of War tells of the necessity of a leader to bond with the troops in such a way as to command (not demand) respect. This is like Everything's "You have to win the hearts of the people first…". The 17th hexagram, "Following", states that it is first necessary to give, in order for one to get. "With possession of the Tao, one can go wherever one likes. Without the Tao, one is lost wherever one goes. So for enlightening beings, as were Confucious and Lao Tzu, it seems that going along with the crowd and accepting standards set by others is important, but getting lost in just trying to be 'normal' might not be the intent of these teachers in terms of influencing people effectively. I just resist the part about "trying" mostly, I guess, because that isn't the challenge— "getting lost" is the technique.❤ (ed: add two letters and change one)

Are we actually better off today, because of technology?
deci belle replied to strawdog65's topic in General Discussion
What came first~ technology or suffering? We haven't learned a thing. We just have more to unlearn. But that isn't saying much. All it takes is an instant.
