Uh, ok. Did it help (with females)? "What is the purpose of Xingyi gazing practice?" I don't mean to be arcane but it's not something I'm going to talk about on the internet.

To be a crass commercialist, because it's what people pay me money for.

Yeah,, Pietro's right. Although Bruce is the only one I've ever heard speak about this with respect to Dao. My current teacher studied a lot of Dao Gong in his younger days. He started to want to "be away from the world." He realized he didn't want to feel that way.

The PU community?

You're right, what Derren is doing isn't. The others were. Derren's a very impressive trickster. Here he explains what he does (but not how). I would as well. Xingyi gazing practice gave me that ability. Intense, though.

Did you miss it? Michael, That would be me several years ago.

In Kumar's system this material is taught in what he calls "Marriage of Heaven and Earth", Micro and Macro. Also all the opening and closings, lengthening in and out, and some other stuff. Here is the choreography, everything happens inside the body. http://www.yizongbagua.com/Video_public/Marriage_Buddy.MOV

Anyone want to dicuss Taoist Yoga: Alchemy & Immortality?
Buddy replied to MatthewQi's topic in General Discussion
Matthew, Take this as you will but maybe better safe than sorry. One of Bruce Frantzis' strongest caveats (I can't stress this enough) was don't go messing around with stuff in your brain unless you have a competent teacher. He said the damage you might do is catastrophic and irreversible. -
free- What's happening is cooperation. And the end result is the aforementioned video. I don't believe it for a moment (shock) but even it were real, what's the point of learning something that only works on the willing? Here's Derren Brown doing the same thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcqNsihA-Yo The one inch thing I can do zero distance with most parts of my body. It's just fajin.

Tiantai (J-Tendai) is a form of Mahayana Buddhism that Kumar's last teacher, Liu Hongjieh, studied in his early years.

Craig, If I lived in the Portland area, I would run, not walk, to Guru Steve Plinck. But Guru Steve is a martial art guy only. I worked with him on a number of occasions and he is one of the best I've seen. But maybe not for you. http://www.pencaksilat.com/us.html

v, They are a part of BKF's system. He calls them Taoism but I think they are from Tiantai. They are: physical, energetic, mental, emotional, psychic, causal, individuality, and Dao.

"Why sell yourself short Buddy?" LOL, I doubt I'll ever be accused of THAT!

I can't even comment on the lightning one. The others were all cooperation. Interestingly enough the last one was of Shi Ming. I know the long haired American guy. He confirmed my suspicions. I have to say I'm a little surprised at some here. I was thinking that the people that came here were serious investigators of Dao and the like. This stuff is Dragonball-Z

"If you know it's a function of either the nervous system or the circulatory system, prove it." Oh brother. It CAN be proven ask your GP. Ask him/her if those systems can cause those symptoms. "When I dream I am flying, I'm experiencing a dream that I'm flying. When I watch a movie, I experience watching a movie. The experiences are primary, the interpretation of the experiences are secondary, and usually unnecessary." But neither are real life.
-
I think the video speaks for itself. I avoided posting it because it's just sad.

Never heard of it. Although xingyi has a circling exercise called pan gen, it's just an exercise.

"Why interpret the experience at all. You don't really know that it's a function of either the nervous system or the circulatory system. You don't have a clue what the cause is. The most you can say is that you experienced it. Accept the same Tom Joad standard for yourself that you hold everone else to. Say you don't know and drop the BS." Because it is my prerogative to do so. No BS here, Mike. But no magic either. You can say you don't have a clue but you can't say I don't. You don't know what I know, you only know what you know. Mike when you dream you are flying, that is a real event? There is a river in Egypt... OR, "Interesting, but why do you suppose the first time I could really feel these things was when I began practicing taichi? Can you point me to some of these descriptions. Not trying to be fascitious, I am actually curious." Sorry, I can't tell why something happened to you. Perhaps exercising your intention hadn't occurred so strongly previously? I've had carvers and other folks using fine motor skills tell about similar sensations as they are concentrating on their work. As far as descriptions go...if you sit on your leg, sometimes it feels like pins and needles. The circulatory system is being slightly blocked.
