Courses, Books, Etc. Etc. That You Couldn't Do Without For Your Practice.

does anyone here have a copy of the Xing Yi Nei Gong book? -
xoXtpeq_JFc High Quality http://shifuyanlei.co.uk/movies/qigongvol1.mov Jeez I hate seeing something I want to buy... If I buy these would anyone want them used after I watch them *cough* I would sell it $50.00 cheaper than that site sells, and I will keep them in mint condition. Then you could resell them after you watch *cough* them also, minus $50.00 Ad infinitum...

answered my own question, the books were horrible, no real information.

He has a nice website. But I still think you would be better off studying on your own at least at first, before you seek out an real teacher. Then, ask yourself exactly what your goal is and clearly define it, then you can see if you local qigong teacher can help you achieve that or not.

Everyone is familiar with the first three spatial dimensions, length width and height. The next three are temporal, and can be described as: duration(lifespan), possibility(possible life paths), and infinity. Each higher dimension is an infinite expansion of the previous dimension. Dimension 0 is a point, a point is coordinate which lacks any definite size or shape. Dimension 1: if you use one point to denote a beginning, and another an end, then connect these two you have created a line. A line is a one dimensional object, and it is also contains an infinite number of points, as it can be seen as an infinite expansion of a point. Dimension 2: if you take parallel lines and connect them you have a plane or square. It could be said that this square contains an infinite number of lines, as it can be seen as an infinite expansion of a line. Dimension 3: if you take parallel planes and connect them you have made a cube. This cube contains an infinite number of planes, as it can be seen as an infinite expansion of a square or plane. Dimension 4: it helps if you visualize this like a solid 3D object forming a line. The forth dimension is the duration (or lifespan) of a third dimensional object. From birth to death, creation to destruction, it is like a line as in dimension 1. If you could view yourself as a 4D object, your birth on end, and death on another you would look like a long worm. Imagine you ten minutes ago, you now, and you ten minutes in the future. When viewed from a 4D perspective it would completely and totally SOLID. The only thing which moves through this solid object is your consciousness. From this perspective it is almost like it is pre-recorded, much like a record or a dvd. It is the needle or laser which moves along the disc, which creates the music and movies we perceive. It is your consciousness which acts precisely like a needle or laser, creating the reality you see around you. If you remember how a line contains an infinite number of points, you will realize how the 4th dimension contains an infinite number of 3D slices we call "the present" Dimension 5: The fifth dimension is possibility, or possible life paths one can take. (imagine an infinite number of 4D lines forming a 5D square) The most popular (and accepted) interpretation of quantum mechanics is the MWI (Many Worlds Interpretation). For each possibility there is a world in which it is an actuality. This has also been called the "multi-verse". Lets say this morning you decide to have juice instead of tea, there is also a world with a "you" just as real and living having tea instead of juice. There are an infinite number of possible choices and outcomes in ones life, based upon your choices, thoughts, actions etc. Each of these infinite possible paths represent one singular 4D line. The plane or square in this case represents all the possible timelines and possibilities for one 3D object. The 5th Dimension contains all possibilities which exist from the creation of a said object, until its destruction or death. Dimension 6: The sixth dimension is infinity. Everything that is, was or ever could be. The 5th dimension dealt with the possibilities of one observer, it could then be said that the 6th dimension deals with the possibilities for all possible observers, in all possible universes, at all possible moments in time, all at once, as one singular coherent solid object. We started out with a point, a coordinate which lacked any definite size or shape, and yet we have returned to that. Infinity, a solid, and still object, which contains every possible past, present, and future, for every possible observer, in all possible universes. There is nothing else to measure it by or compare it to, so it becomes a point, of indeterminate size or shape. What then could be said of us? What exactly are we? The best answer I have found is that we are waves of consciousness which exist as a point flowing through this infinity, for what purpose I am unsure. I do know that the belief you have a body, a life, and ego, identity etc. are false. We are something more than that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. -Bill Hicks "My uncreated and unending profound Enlightenment ensures my perfect insight into the realm of Ultimate Truth, where the one is infinite and the infinite is one." -Buddha "He who experiences the unity of life sees his own Self in all beings, and all beings in his own Self, and looks on everything with an impartial eye." -Buddha

I hate introductions, but I would love to be able to post in the other forums so I guess its necessary. My only goal in life is to achieve enlightenment, everything else is just a distraction to me. I live in a one bedroom apartment, and my most expensive possessions are a moped and a computer. I am dedicating my life to the practice of Qigong and Neigong. I want to realize my ultimate potential as a human being, and help others do the same.

I will be careful. Thank you for the warning though. Most of the food will be dried food I bring with me, or from seeds I grow myself.

This Is Hauntingly Beautiful, and Perfect Form
mwight replied to mwight's topic in General Discussion
Guy's I'll be honest. I don't know jack about shaolin style qigong. I just found this guys video on youtube, and felt really inspired after watching him. It really resonated with me. I probably wont buy his dvd's unless someone else is interested buying them used from me. $90 would buy quite a lot of food and I need all the help I can get with that. I would probably be wasting my money, I would rather save it for Dr. Johnson's Neigong book. -

Yes if you ask sean he will give you your own private forum in the personal practice area, and you can delete hateful comments by these people who are being complete assholes.

Gross Sense Impressions of the Transformation Process
mwight replied to Taiji Bum's topic in General Discussion
Thanks Darin, very interesting. Would you say in your personal experience that the chi to shen rising sensation might feel like a gust of internal wind blowing through your body as though it was empty, blowing upwards? I have a very hard time describing what I feel internally. -
I think this got it LOL sorry. http://www.intmath.com/Basic-algebra/Algeb...blem-solver.php 3=y-(0.382)(y-0.618y) Since y is on the right-hand side of the equation, switch the sides so it is on the left-hand side of the equation. y-(0.382)(y-0.618y)=3 Since y and -0.618y are like terms, add -0.618y to y to get 0.382y. y-(0.382)(0.382y)=3 Multiply 0.382 by 0.382y to get 0.146y. y-(0.146y)=3 Multiply -1 by the 0.146y inside the parenthesis. y-0.146y=3 Since y and -0.146y are like terms, add -0.146y to y to get 0.854y. 0.854y=3 Divide each term in the equation by 0.854. Cancel the common factor of 0.854. Divide 3 by 0.854 to get 3.512. y=3.512

I don't think Christianity is an issue, dogma, fundamentalism, and irrationality are the problems, but they are problems found in many other religions besides Christianity. One of my coolest friends is a Gnostic Christian, his motto is that the bible was written by man, and to truly know god you should commune with him directly.

Fluoride is horrible for you, so are pcbs, dioxins, mercury, pesticides, Bisphenol-A, Saccharin (carcinogen), Aspartame (potent Neurotoxin), MSG (potent Neurotoxin), Sucralose (extremely immunotoxic) Mad cow aka Bovine spongiform encephalopathy is rampant 1/3 Alzheimer's cases may be BSE or CJD related. the whole world is going ape shit nuts with fascist religious nut job nazi fuckers and were about to melt down in a nuclear WWIII, Were screwed any which way you look at it, my advice is to go Amish and learn how to depend only on yourself.

Brush with baking soda, and use natural mouthwash, get a well, don't drink from plastic cups, eat organic food. grow your own food, learn how to survive off wilderness food. Take green tea extract instead of drinking it, as it contains high fluoride levels. Get into survival mode, while you still can. It's about to get crazy here, my friends. But trust me, fluoride is the least of our worries.

To be honest I don't think simply sitting in any posture is going to do jack sh.... It's all about the depth of trance you are able to achieve. Master Lin stresses above all else in his spring forest qigong course that the #1 key for success is going into the emptiness, where thoughts ultimately cease, and you forget that you even exist. Robert Bruce talks about trance work as key to his system, going deeper into trance. http://astraldynamics.com/tutorials/?Board...;BulletinID=269 In the book the Tao of meditation it details how one should go into a state of hibernation breathing only a few times per minute (Lin also speaks of this). The state of mind, and the depth of trance are vastly superior to just sitting if your goal is to work with chi. If you like just sitting to sit well full lotus and zen might be of some use

My goal for my practice is to transcend. I want to evolve, to slough of this meat body and become something more. To leave this world and all its drama behind, never to return. Evolution, transcendence, eternal rest, never being reborn. Those are my goals for my practice.

Trust me, we have a lot bigger issues to worry about than fluoride. Like raw survival. If you live in the usa this is going to become apparent in the coming years.

Communities Like The Tao Bums, That Focus Solely On Serious Qigong/Neigong Discussion?
mwight posted a topic in General Discussion
I really like the tao bums, most of the people here are great. One thing that does really bother me however is having to wade through tons of material that (at least for me) is completely irrelevant. I'm interested in qigong and neigong, and their role in ascending as a human. Verdesi's forum did seem to have a more focused and concentrated discussion on topics like that, but I will be damned if I pay $125 bucks for it, especially now that I've been able to observe Verdesi's masters "preforming". Other than him does anyone know any communities like the bums, which focus solely on qigong and neigong? Do you think we might ever see a separate forum here for just that? -
All this knowledge is great Drew, but what real world application does it have for us laymen? Will playing the correct frequencies on our piano or tuning forks while sitting in full lotus give us more chi to work with? All this harmonics theory looks great on paper, but I have to ask: What is its practical application? I challenge you to find real world applications for your knowledge of harmonics etc, display your mastery over the physical universe etc. Maybe find a nice girl to participate and record her experiences if you attempt an O and D on her in full lotus, maybe secretly record and youtube it for us here to see.
