I probably should have said nothing here in this thread, but I felt I had to take up for someone I KNOW is a genuinely good person. I just wish we could all get along, it seems really childish for sincere students to fight among other sincere students. If I ever advance enough to travel to china, and I succeed in finding a high level ascended master like JC your damn strait I would personally introduce every person I thought was a serious student to him. Thats not something I think should be kept a secret, we are all brothers, NOT enemies or competition. I believe that its the nature of man to ascend, to return to God, the Universe, or the Tao or whatever name your religion or philosophy has for it. Knowledge of how to reunite with the ultimate isn't something you horde or hide away from others. Everyone who shares your goal is your brother imho, not your competitor, this isn't a pissing contest. I honestly feel closer to a lot of people I have met here in this community than I do my own real flesh and blood family. At first this thread made me really mad, and then it really saddened me. :/ We should be rejoicing and banding together as brothers, all of us who share the same goals... not fighting. Jim is honestly a good person, its hard to meet people like him anymore. I just don't understand why so much hostility is being directed his way. Just my $0.02.
  5. Wishful Thinking

Or maybe you could just smoke a bowl and chill. I don't seek power to show off, or control or harm other people, I seek it to transcend and get out of this world. As far as I understand that is the true aim of all schools in the Lei Shan Dao. The powers they develop are merely a side effect, mile markers on their path. That is the only true function they offer. If a person is seeking powers just for the sake of being like a DBZ character, or ruling earth I agree thats just juvenile bullshit. In my opinion only schools which demonstrate the development of "powers", such as the Lei Shan Dao, are worth pursuing. Out of all the millions of Buddhists how many have ever achieved enlightenment, or ascended never to return to this world? None I've heard of this century. Also lets say I take a pen-name and write a bunch of books on ancient taoist methods etc, even though its just a bunch of BS I made up. How exactly can anyone say it is effective or not if it doesn't actually accomplish anything. If your current schools aren't producing physical results, which are tangible and testable, well whats the point of following them. What I see paths like the Lei Shan Dao actually accomplishing is constructing, feeding, and nurturing your spirit, then moving your consciousness into it, and away from the physical body, BEFORE death. So when death of the physical body occurs, you have a backup. A vehicle to carry on in, rather than just falling into unconsciousness, having your memories decay, and being reborn into another physical body. Most Buddhist schools I have learned about tell you to be a good person, let go of material attachments, and sit and breath, stay in the moment. How many enlightened beings have you seen arise from that method? Looks like if these teachings were so "effective" we would be seeing a higher success rate among practitioners. Thats just my $0.02
  6. http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=5791 I really like the book the tao of meditation, I posted a cliff notes version of some of the practices in it.
  7. Wishful Thinking

Mike, You say that Jim has been questioning you as to who your new teacher is. I know sometimes he asks people about their current practice and such in a friendly way. When I first met him we discussed my previous teachers, and knowledge etc. From Robert Peng, Robert Bruce, and Master Chunyi Lin (spring forest), Jou Tsung Hwa, etc. He may not have meant it the way you took it. It wasn't like he was trying to find out my "secret teachers" etc. It was more of friendly conversation. I must say I am really curious, my friend on here told me he thought you were with wang li-ping, but I suppose thats not the case. Perhaps you are training in another branch of the Lei Shan Dao?

  9. Q-Link -ahead of its time or scam

Master Lin (spring forest qigong) talks a lot about the emptiness, the void, the place where the sensory connections to the world fade, and you forget who you are, or that you even exist. I've run across this in many schools, and they equate it to the source of their power. So I would say deep trance is essential for mastery of spring forest qigong. Also Robert Bruce stresses the importance of trance in his books, Energy Work, and Astral Dynamics. Here is some online info: http://astraldynamics.com/tutorials/?Board...ulletinID=269#6
  10. Q-Link -ahead of its time or scam

Hundun, You might be more advanced than me, or just have a natural talent to feel chi without being in a trance state. Personally I have to be in a deep trance to be able to feel the flow of chi inside of my body. I can get light sensations when not in a trance, but when I am in a deep trance the tactile sensation of chi, increases many hundred fold (no exaggeration). Also it is not possible for me to feel energy of other people, or project chi outside of my body unless I am in a deep trance. Usually such a trance takes me 3-4 hours of concentration, and focus on breathing slower, and slower, my body will grow painfully cold, and time itself seems be like a dvd stuck on fast forward, also I feel drugged like on some heavy sedative, etc. For me this is what is required to even really work with chi in any meaningful way, perhaps others such as yourself have it easier.

    oh well.
  12. Jerry Alan Johnson

anyone here have any idea on when his book on neigong will be available?
  13. John Changs 1st Westener Student

Seems I was misinformed again. Whomever your new teacher is I wish you the best with him.

Is this the same Jerry Alan Johnson from daoistmagic.com?
  15. A 6 Dimensional Theory of Reality

The forth dimension as I experienced it was that both past and future are apart of a solid continuum. This is also described in the book the tao of meditation way to enlightenment by Jou, Tsung Hwa. Also other Buddhist and Taoist practitioners and scholars I have talked to have talked about experiences of "all at once" in which the meditators realize that past and future (and possible futures) are apart of a solid coherent whole. The fifth dimension as I experienced it was that at any moment on this continuum there were infinite other continuum which existed to accommodate each and every possibility and possible choice an observer can possibly make. This deals with the observations of just one observer. The six dimension dealt with all possibilities not just for one single observer, but all possible observers, in all possible universes. This deals with everything, every observer, every perspective, every universe everything, all at once as one coherent object. I know string theory goes on to postulate higher dimensions based on universes with different initial conditions to our big bang, but what I experienced when I was out of body was that all these different universes with different initial conditions were expressed in the totality of the sixth. Perhaps there are more, I don't really know. Perhaps there are no more than what we experience. I simply recorded a life changing revelation I had during an OBE and tried my best to get it out on paper. Perhaps its silly, but it seems to me to be supported by valid science and scientists like steven hawking.
  16. A 6 Dimensional Theory of Reality

Dear Findley, Yes perhaps your right. I came up with these idea's in 2004-2005 when I was having recurrent OBE's during my meditation. I still have them but not as often. I wrote my theory based upon my first hand experiences of moving into and out of realities above and below our own, and the solidity of time, and the nature of my experience. I have since been reading up on current string theory, and quantum mechanics. The math does check out for what I describe as the 5th dimension. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/main.jhtm...1/sciuni121.xml http://space.newscientist.com/article/mg19...ntum-sense.html So this isn't simply based on conjecture. Also the majority of physicists including Steven Hawking believe in what is called the many worlds interpretation of Quantum Mechanics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Many-worlds_interpretation Also it is theorized that the Large Hadron Collider later this year when it is turned on may provide hard evidence of microsingularities (black holes) and perhaps higher dimensions, and other interesting things. It may confirm some predictions of string theory. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_Hadron_Collider nDx--vUBQYU Science Channel Special On Parallel Universe JkxieS-6WuA Imagining The Tenth Dimension 1 (about string theory) ySBaYMESb8o Imagining The Tenth Dimension 2 (about string theory) LDajcGcKiAM The solidity of time.
  17. Both fate, and free will are true. Everything that is, was or ever could be exists. All possible futures, pasts and presents, for all possible people, at all possible times, in all possible worlds, in all possible universes. http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=3353 read my last post to see what I mean.
  18. A 6 Dimensional Theory of Reality

wanted to post an update to this, simplified: Understanding the higher dimensions is easy if you have experienced them first hand. During meditation and resulting OBE's I've had the opportunity to do just that. Perhaps I'm just another nutcase but I believe my experiences to be valid. you already understand the first three, but lets review them a little. 1. if you were to start with a point, and expand it infinitely in series you could make a line. ..................................................... 2. if you take a line and expand it infinitely in a series you would form a square or plane ..................................................... ..................................................... ..................................................... ..................................................... ..................................................... ..................................................... ..................................................... ..................................................... ..................................................... ..................................................... 3. if you expand a square or plane in an infinite series you would have a cube. lets think about that and apply that to time, and perhaps shift some paradigms here. most people I meet think that the past ceases to be as soon as we move forward in time, and the future is yet to be created. I can assure you this is not the case and that paradigm is completely wrong. Time is really the speed at which your awareness moves through this reality, viewed 3 dimensional cross sections (called the present) of a large 4D solid object. both past and future already existed before "you" ever came into the picture and started observing this "reality" so the forth dimension really is the realization that both past and future are apart of a solid object. That is kind of hard to visualize but imagine for one second that the past you, present you and future you are all connected and comprise a larger 4D object, just as a we expanded a square or plane infinitely to create a cube, so also if we expand our infinite number of "present" moments we experience in a lifetime we would look like a large snake or worm our birth at the beginning and our death at the other. 4. time is the perception we have of our movement through a 4D object. Remember how a point was expanded infinitely to create a line, well its the same here, except the point in this case is a 3D object. Lets talk about the fifth dimension a little. The fourth dimension implied pre-destiny and fate by showing that the future has already occurred, while this is true it is not the complete truth. Moment to moment we are presented with infinite branching 4D paths to choose from, e.g. drinking tea instead of orange juice this morning. every choice action, thought etc that you have is navigating you through a maze of infinite possibilities. You can choose any you like, most people do not pay attention at all and wind up navigating to less than ideal outcomes, this is what karma really means. You do not create reality but you choose it down to the most minute detail. This concept is supported by the MWI of quantum mechanics, Stephen Hawking and the majority of physicists subscribe to the notion that indeed we do live in a multiverse and not a universe. There are infinite parallel realities to our own, and contrary to popular belief you don't need a fancy machine to travel to them, because automatically you do it every second your alive. The choices you make, the thoughts you think, the way you act, your attitude, everything you do period, navigates you in and out of these worlds. 5. The 5th Dimension is an infinite expansion of 4D representing the choices we make and how we navigate the multiverse via our actions and thoughts. Remember how we created a square or plane by infinitely expanding a line, well the same applies here were expanding a 4D object, and showing all its possible life paths to create a plane or square. I have gone as far as the 6th dimension, but could go no further. I do not know if there really are dimensions higher than 6 but based on my first hand experience I haven't seen them. The sixth dimension is totality, every possible 5D object and path possible, in all possible worlds. Everything that is was or could be as one singular and coherent singularity. Nothing moves, everything is still. Infinity, in a grain of sand. 6. The 6th dimension encompasses everything that is was or ever could be in all possible worlds and universes as one singular coherent object. The implications of this theory are very profound, it means you aren't who or what you think you are. wink.gif stew on that for a while.

All I can say is Jim is a very good person, and I don't really understand why you guys have to be so hateful towards him.

I get what your saying, but there is "feeling chi" and then there is knowing your feeling chi.
