i say fake because in all his pyro demo's he obscures his hands, he does the same thing on verdesi's video. I'd be more impressed to see him catch just one of those little paper strips on fire so we could see what his hands are doing clearly.

Or maybe the words "Dao" and "God" are just words different cultures use to talk about their concepts of the same thing
-
What if God is something were apart of, not something that created us. e.g. the cells in our body give rise to our consciousness, what if we are the cells of God...?
-
I don't feel at one with everything anymore either, but I had an experience of it at one point which changed my world view from an atheist. I am still against having faith in anything, I think our beliefs should be grounded in evidence and personal experience.
-
I'm a philosophical taoist, and I believe we are all apart of a living breathing awareness which manifests itself as the universe around us. I believe we are all one consciousness. Or in Christian terms we are all one with God. Every religion has a different name for and way of understanding it but in the end I think were all talking about the same thing.

Long Term, Self Suficent, Commune for Cultivators?
mwight replied to mwight's topic in General Discussion
I think buying 50-100 acres somewhere out in the middle of Montana would be the way to go. It might get weird and tricky if you mix families, kids and religion though, you don't want to be labeled a cult and have imperial storm troopers come kill everyone to protect the safety of the children. LOL I think its best not to have any structured religious element associated like no religious leader or figure or anything like that. The costs of building and setting up such a community would be astronomical, so I'm not really sure how to handle that. maybe all the participants could sell donuts for a "charity" on the weekends, you know at traffic lights in their home town. I see a lot of those going on, and they make a lot of money for their cause. If it was for a sustainable community I am sure that sounds charitable enough. -

I want to see more documentation and studies done on max and his glowing hands etc... as it stands now though I think max is talks a good talk thats certain, but wheres the beef? Lets see some hard core investigation by a reputable third party group.

some of don't seek physical immortality. I would be ok with eternal nothingness, void or emptiness, as long as I was never reborn again. iMUiwTubYu0

I wonder how many people really think about their own death on a daily basis. Like really sit themselves down and look in the mirror and think, hey I'm just a rotting hunk of meat, and the maggots and vultures are salivating at the thought of my death. Realizing after their death they will be reborn into another world similar to this one after having their memories erased, to repeat the cycle of death and rebirth into infinity until they can find a way out....... maybe thats just me..... sorry for being so morbid...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Li_Ching-Yun he still died but lived to an age of 256 years (supposedly) I don't believe anything close to physical immortality is possible until we reach a technological singularity.

Honeybees are found to interact with Quantum fields?

http://www.scribd.com/doc/192882/Tai-Chi-Q...Experimentation an excerpt: With the aid of the electric charge detector, it was found that Laogong was full of electrostatic charge when Lin Housheng emitted qi. The polarity changed along with the change of physiological status. When Lin Housheng felt comfortable, there was an increase of negative charge and when he held the qi, there was an increase of positive charge. This suggested that the bioelectricity emitted by a well-trained qigong master could rearrange the doublets (bipolar particles) of living substance at the acupoint area from randomness to a specific order.

A Very Awesome Read On Scientific Studies For Qigong

I've been playing with a van de graaff now for a some time, had some weird experiences I am almost certain that electrostatic is what masters are talking about when they talk about yin and yang chi. -

I have the level 3 and 4 cd's nothing super special. I will let you know what the level 3 manual entails.
-
No place has the level 3 manual, it was just released, also I still prefer having a physical copy of a book. I can't stand staring at my monitor to read pdf's even though I have a nice LCD.
-
I just wanted to tell everyone that the manuals include pretty much everything in the dvd's and cd's. If your poor (like me) you can get by with just those.
-
I am curious as to whats in the level 3 book, I would really like to see what would be in the level 4 also.

Mjjbecker, Your obviously a serious student training with a real teacher in China, thats awesome. Its amazing you have been able to find such an opportunity, and I appreciate all your advice, I just wish you could be a little nicer sometimes dispensing it. I think most people here would agree with that. I would love to have the money and opportunity to find a master at Chang's level in China. But how exactly does one pull that off? Search every holy mountain in China for hermits?, ask all the top priests at the taoist temples? I mean assuming a person were to go to china where would they even begin to look for a teacher at Chang's level? How much time would be required to accomplish such a task?. how much money? I don't like the idea of traveling somewhere without a set destination trying to find someone and not even knowing who they are. That task just sounds too outrageous especially in a country with as many people as China. Maybe your bound by oath not to reveal your teacher/lineage or maybe your just protecting him/her from an onslaught of seekers. However, If he/she is on Chang's level and is still accepting students I think your doing a disservice to the community by hiding them away. Maybe one day I will travel to train with Wang Li-Ping, maybe I will go to Java and seek out Chang and ask him to recommend another school similar to mo pai or ask him if he can point me in the right direction. But at the moment I am going to work with what I have, and just monitor the internet for new information on masters and training. I plan on starting my retreat sometime soon, I am still making preparations. I can honestly look you in the eye and tell you I am doing the best I can in life right now, and traveling to China or Indonesia isn't possible for me at the moment, even if I did have the money. Regards -matt
