You haven't quoted anything yet. Who knows what Master Nan actually said.
-
So are you saying you have to become an arhat first, and then a Buddha? Ridiculous.
-
If he is right, then everyone else is wrong.
-
Maybe your Chinese Buddhism. I follow the Indo-Tibetan tradition.
-
If he said that he is wrong. No wonder scholars use the term Indo-Tibetan Buddhism, since Tibetan Buddhism (and not Chinese Buddhism) is the direct heir to Indian Buddhism.
-
Well since you didn't yet post what Master Nan actually says, I'm going to have to go dig it up.
-
An arhat is awakened from nirvana by the Buddhas, and has to start all over again on the Mahayana path (the bhumis).
-
Hinayana stages are different than Mahayana stages (bhumis). An arhat is only a stage in Mahayana, in the sense that an arhat has to start on the bhumis.
-
Arhat means someone who has nirvana ( cessation ). This is an extreme from the Mahayana point of view.

Xabir is ridiculous. What does this mean? "The logical progression is therefore: - Advaita Vedanta - Pali Buddhism - Mahayana Buddhism - Mahamudra, Dzogchen If we skip Pali and Mahayana Buddhism and jump directly to Mahamudra or Dzogchen, the risk is to interpret Mahamudra or Dzogchen as a Buddhist version of pop-neo-advaita, equating emptiness and rigpa with awareness. This is very common nowadays and some Western lamas seem to encourage this trend to water-down the Dzogchen teachings, as always in order to appeal to a larger public. Business is business." This is just utter nonsense on so many levels. And Xabir doesn't even have Dzogchen transmission. LMAO.

This jnana guy is not a source for anything. He argued with Malcolm many times, because he doesn't understand even basic things. Probably to this day, he doesn't understand the basis of Dzogchen upadesha is the 5PL. Or that Vajrayana was taught by the Mahasiddhas.

No I'm talking about the 5 skandha or aggregates. You are a bundle of 5 skandha. The 5 skandha can be dumbed down to body and mind. -

Its some sort of western concept. Just remember you are merely a bundle of 5 skandha, and you will be fine. -
Ayurveda:The Art of Being documentary

Great video. Of course, Indian medicine is intimately related to tantra, Dzogchen etc. as the below book documents. http://www.amazon.com/Religion-Medicine-Routledge-Critical-Buddhism/dp/0415441153 -
Shamatha is Shamatha. Shamatha is not Dzogchen. Allan Wallace specifically says "not Vajrayana, not Dzogchen" and "later practice of Dzogchen". Tertons reveal a whole spectrum of teachings, not just Dzogchen.

How do you calculate Karma astrologically
RongzomFan replied to Maddie's topic in General Discussion
Yes I have experience with almost exactly that. If they have the navagrahas, you can do astrological pujas at a hindu temple. I had a Jupiter puja done once, since I have an astrological problem with jupiter. Then I was given the bija mantra for Jupiter, along with a bracelet made of strings, each string being one of the 5 colors. -

How do you calculate Karma astrologically

There are two different parts. First you have to get a your birth chart printed out by a Vedic astrology computer program. And then you take it to a jyotishi who interprets it. And there are 2 different formats used by jyotishis, so its best to print out both formats. The jyotishi I know is a local Brahmin priest who doesn't speak English, so I don't have any recommendations for jyotishi. -
