These are literary characters / wisdom manifestations of Buddhist tertons, not historical figures. All Buddhist tertons upheld Madhyamaka. For Longchenpa and Jigme Lingpa, Madhyamaka is intellectual, while Dzogchen is based on personal experience.

This is monism. Like in Kashmir Saivism. But that is still realism (buddhist definition).
