What a joke Wikipedia is. Only one tradition has terma. I never heard of a Advaita Vedanta text revealed in a dream. Gaudapada just ripped off Madhyamaka. -

You keep changing the subject from Vedanta to Kunlun to kriya and now raja yoga. Is raja yoga going to lead to the same level as Dudjom Lingpa? And as far as I know, only one tradition has terma. -

Even Sivahood is way beyond just recognizing the nature of the mind. Sivahood is about physical immorality. These are both bullshit New Age traditions. And we are talking about Vedanta. -

Buddhahood is WAY beyond just recognizing the nature of the mind or unfabricated presence ala Vedanta. -

Unless Ramana has a body of light, its really not the same fucking thing at all. Are you saying Vedanta and Zen people display rainbow body? You are the one full of crap. -

The result of Dzogchen is rainbow body/enlightenment. That does not include Ramana, Zen people, Vedanta etc. -

Jetsun, your lack of understanding is the problem. Everyone, including Malcolm, admits that Vedantins and Zen people can recognize unfabricated presence. Recognizing unfabricated presence, doesn't make a system the same as Dzogchen. For us, recognizing unfabricated presence is only day 1. That's only the wisdom of kadag. Then we do practices that relate to the lhun grub wisdom of rigpa, such as dark retreat etc. I've been saying for a long time, the translations of ChNN are screwed up. Ramana's self-inquiry is basically a confusing version of CandrakÄ«rti's chariot analysis. CandrakÄ«rti, in ''MadhyamakÄvatÄra'' VI.151., comments: "It is not asserted that a chariot is something other than its parts. It is not something that is not other, nor does it possess them. It does not exist in the parts, nor do the parts exist in it. It is neither their mere collection nor the shapeāthus is the analogy." -
HH Dalai Lama is laughing at the question because he equates enlightenment with rainbow body

How does form arise out of emptiness?

Great academic article. Must read. http://www.otago.ac.nz/religion/staff/articles/prehistory.pdf The promotion of Advaita Vedanta by a small group of European influenced Hindus is one direct legacy of colonialism. Caste system is another direct legacy of colonialism.
-
The author is not saying Advaita Vedanta is not a legitimate Hindu system. But the promotion of it as the pinnacle of Hindu philosophy by a small number of European influenced Hindus is a legacy of colonialism. I would argue that the tantric systems based on Samkhya are the real pinnacle of Hinduism.

We should make a distinction between other ideas of emptiness and Buddhist emptiness. -
In all Indian Dharma, rebirth has to do with ignorance. According to atiyoga specifically, sentient beings are nothing more than incarnations of ignorance. The only thing that transmigrates is delusion.

ending rebirth = ending ignorance

Read further in same thread. Namdrol always brings emptiness back to nonarising, because emptiness = nonarising http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=14040&start=480#p185946 In Buddhism, emptiness = nonarising
