He never practiced Dzogchen. I have to go with Loppon Namdrol who says that. http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=3483&start=80#p45745 Who cares about Tsongkhapa? -

If Alan Wallace said that, then that's just weird. Tsongkhapa has no relationship with Dzogchen. -

This goes back to the menngagde definition of the basis (gzhi). http://www.dharmawheel.net/search.php?keywords=basis+lights&terms=all&author=Malcolm&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search Unfortunately there is very little published on this. -
i have reached to a conclusion, there is no such thing as LOVE
RongzomFan replied to nine tailed fox's topic in General Discussion
I agree. Romantic love is bound with "I" "my" and "mine". Of course sex is fine though. -

Knowing and unknowing is quite fine with me. -
You would also have to say misogynist roots of Buddhism, Jainism etc. Americans murder their girlfriends, wives etc. all the time, and I'm pretty sure its at a much higher rate than India.

The above material is saying that shamatha and vipashyana are automatically included in the natural state. "Attaining this stability, in which the shamatha of primordially abiding in the natural state and the vipashyana of natural luminosity are basically indivisible, is the dawn of self-existing wakefulness, the realization of dzogchen" -

they translated rigpa as knowing and marigpa as unknowing -
Vajrayana direct introduction is infinitely more clear than Vedanta, IMO.

ChNN has the webcast, which other teachers adopted, and drops ngondro. But other than that ChNN is traditional. Moreover, the argument is that ngondro is an addition that occurred to Dzogchen at a later point. So ChNN is even more traditional than everyone else. -
By the way, its an academic fact that Hinduism is the most feminine religion in the entire history of the world. "Nowhere in the panorama of world religious traditions, from ancient times to the present, do we find such a strong presence of the feminine voice within the divinity as we do in the Hindu complex of religion." http://books.google.com/books?id=0z02cZe8PU8C&pg=PA441&lpg=PA441&dq=Nowhere+in+the+panorama+of+world+religious+traditions,+from+ancient+times+to+the+present,+do+we+find+such+a+strong+presence+of+the+feminine+voice+within+the+divinity+as+we+do+in+the+Hindu+complex+of+religion&source=bl&ots=NiNq-FnGuv&sig=nyZ0bOIkfulTNrxrFU-8JK487og&hl=en&sa=X&ei=RvonUoyWOtDD4AOy_4HYBA&ved=0CC4Q6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=Nowhere%20in%20the%20panorama%20of%20world%20religious%20traditions%2C%20from%20ancient%20times%20to%20the%20present%2C%20do%20we%20find%20such%20a%20strong%20presence%20of%20the%20feminine%20voice%20within%20the%20divinity%20as%20we%20do%20in%20the%20Hindu%20complex%20of%20religion&f=false

You have to ask yourself why does the Western media ignore American gangrapes? 10-12 Americans against 2 women? Should be on the front page of every news outlet right now.
-
By the way, statistically speaking America has the most violence against women in the world, and India one of the lowest. For example, 10-12 Americans gang raped 2 women in America, just a couple of days ago: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/08/31/2-women-gang-raped-by-10-12-juveniles-in-delaware-park-report-says/

The dowry system was severely screwed up by the british, just like the caste system. "In precolonial India, dowry was not a "problem" but a support for women." -Dowry Murder, Oxford University Press You should read basic academic books before slandering cultures.

I don't see how any of this is relevant. The issue is samatha, not ngondro. So no, I'm not positing a position that is influenced by ChNN. -

I would like to make the point that all the rules, regulations, samayas etc. are divine rules from the primordial termas themselves. -

Christian_Ice, So which is it? Should we emulate them or disregard them? Make up your mind. The vast majority are old Tibetan works translated by western translators. Maybe you are thinking about New Age. -

RongzomFan replied to Seeker of Wisdom's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Christian_Ice, You highlighted 5 words, and ignored the rest of the paragraph. "We can see that to learn or apply the practice of Dzogchen, or to be in the real state of Dzogchen, the principle is not only that we sit quietly somewhere practicing Shine. Shine is useful and important, but it is not of ultimate importance. Shine, or the state of emptiness, is ultimately only a kind of experience. And in the Dzogchen teachings, there are methods that are much more important than ordinary Shine. People generally do not understand these things. When they speak about Shine, they talk as if they consider it to be a supreme practice. But this is simply not true." ChNN and every other master would not want open talk about Dzogchen in this manner. Please learn from their example. -

Chnn openly gives transmission with no prerequisites. And the only criticism I have heard of that is that there is no ngondro. Noone says he should be requiring samatha. -

Interesting cognitive dissonance. Here is just 1 of many examples of you trying to elicit a response (trolling), after I have completely ignored you. http://thetaobums.com/topic/26115-further-discussion/?p=467227 So again, Get this through your head. Your opinions mean nothing to me.
