  1. Bias against New Age

Yes, these hungry ghosts are pretty good at appealing to humans. They say stuff like you are an advanced soul, consciously incarnating to help humanity.
  2. Bias against New Age

He took the New Age path all the way to its conclusion.
  3. Bias against New Age

A terton's own wisdom manifests as Buddhas.
  4. Bias against New Age

Joe Fisher came to the conclusion that "spirit guides" were hungry ghosts from Buddhism, without even being Buddhist.
  5. Bias against New Age

New Age spirits could be useful, if they were subjugated by a tantric.
  6. Bias against New Age

Tibet was invaded to return Buddhadharma to India. That's my understanding atleast. I think everyone has a different opinion on why Tibet was invaded.
  7. Bias against New Age

There is no conflict between the two. You are free to take terma history as actual. But I don't.
  8. Bias against New Age

If you are not even Buddhist, why did you make the following statement: "Anyone who calls themselves a buddhist has a lot to learn about Buddhism."
  9. Bias against New Age

Does anyone even read the books I link to? The whole story of Bon's "history" is a late fourteenth century terma. Tonpa Shenrab is a terma character, not an actual historical character.
  10. Bias against New Age

I am not anti-Bon by the way. Padmasambhava and Vimalamitra are also mostly terma characters.
  11. Bias against New Age

I would read Sam van Schaik's book and blog. Basically the only religion before Buddhism, was a funerary religion. And it wasn't called Bon. The first mentions of Bon are post-Buddhist.
  12. Bias against New Age

How many times have we covered this? http://thetaobums.com/topic/26705-theravada-and-mahayana/ That's terma history, not actual history.
  13. Bias against New Age

The Fifth Dalai Lama tried to subjugate Shugden, but the process failed.
  14. Bias against New Age

How is that possible? Bon came way after Buddhism in Tibet. This is basic history. http://books.google.com/books?id=La1CWinaDR4C&pg=PA99&dq=Tibet+Sam+van+schaik+In,+fact+the+Bonpo+religion&hl=en&sa=X&ei=JpQWUeW-No2v0AHL94H4Bg&ved=0CDMQuwUwAA#v=onepage&q=Tibet%20Sam%20van%20schaik%20In%2C%20fact%20the%20Bonpo%20religion&f=false
  15. Bias against New Age

What don't you seem to understand? Mundane spirits have to be subjugated by tantric means and become oath bound. Why is this so hard for you to understand?
  16. Bias against New Age

Once Tibetan Ice supports your position, you know you are wrong.
  17. Bias against New Age

You are missing the whole point. Mundane spirits have to be subjugated to be useful. Their intrinsic nature is deviant.
  18. Bias against New Age

seriously, I don't give a fuck about jesus
  19. Bias against New Age

The whole thing with Shugden, is that Shugden is a mundane deviant trickster spirit.
  20. Bias against New Age

No there isn't. They use the Neichung oracle, which is a mundane gyalpo subjugated by Padmasambhava, as only one source of information. The Dalai Lama clearly says this in a youtube video. And Tibetans don't channel spirit guides for their practice as you were saying. You are completely clueless.
  21. Bias against New Age

Obviously you haven't read "a lot of stuff" of HH Dalai Lama. His books are full of Buddhist texts, philosophies, authors etc.
  22. Bias against New Age

What a joke. Are you even a Buddhist? Please don't lecture other people.
  23. Bias against New Age

No they don't. HH Dalai Lama consults the Neichung oracle, which channels the mundane gyalpo Pehar which was subjugated by Padmasambhava. It sound like hypocrisy, because you are just making shit up.
  24. Bias against New Age

Obviously you haven't read HH Dalai Lama's books or listened to his lectures. Hes a hardcore Buddhist through and through.
  25. Bias against New Age

I was trying to figure out what you are referring to. There are channeled oracles, but they are very clearly viewed as mundane and unreliable spirits.
