Let me make this more clear... There is a class of deviant trickster spirits that pretend to be people's spirit guides.

New Age is that which originated from the "teachings" of channeled "spirit guides".

New Age views Jesus as an ascended master. Not really. It has unique doctrines like planning your life before living, spirit guides, channeling etc.

I used to believe in this New Age belief. That you plan your life from heaven, and then deliberately become reborn. This is a core lie perpetuated by channeled "spirit guides", which are actually really hungry ghosts according to Joe Fisher. Refer to his excellent book "Siren's Call of Hungry Ghosts".

Yes I get it. Hell is the default setting, and only accepting Jesus can override it. I get it already.

I assume you are talking about Buddhists. People often wrongly equate Buddhists with monks. Atleast some of these Buddhists are doing much higher end stuff than merely meditation and chanting. Past example is Kunzang Dechen Lingpa.

In Vajrayana, sex is used on the path. So no problem for us.

I don't care what tradition you practice, Christian, Sufi etc., but IMO meditation and chanting will do nothing

Dudjom Rinpoche wrote a famous retreat guide. Anyway, Mahasiddhas, including Milarepa, were practicing serious stuff like karmamudra. They weren't just sitting around meditating.

Obviously scholars don't agree with you, since the title of the book you censored is A History of Early Vedanta Philosophy Its a book specifically about Vedanta, and Buddhism is crucial.

There is nothing inherently good about being a "mountain sage", otherwise various hillbillies would be Buddhas. In Vajrayana, retreat is a platform to do your practices. It is merely an opportunity to be dedicated to your practices.

Just as much comes from Vikramshila University. For example we have centuries of commentary on the Cakrasamvara tantra from there. Atisha was from Vikramshila, etc. -

Obviously you don't trust HH Dalai Lama, because you say Tsongkhapa: Geshe Thupten Jinpa, the Dalai Lama's translator, fully admits Tsongkhapa is a deviant who did not honor the existing tradition: "The traditional Geluk understanding of these deviations in Tsongkhapa's thought attributes the development of his distinct reading of Madhyamaka philosophy to a mystical communion he is reported to have had with the bodhisattva Manjusri........It is interesting that the tradition Tsongkhapa is claiming to honour is, in a strict sense, not the existing system in Tibet; rather, it appears to be in the tradition of Manjusri as revealed in a mystic vision!"
