Agree, AND, the 'not it' doesn't go away at that point - rather it's both 'not it' and 'not not it', simultaneously. Both.- 126 replies

Awakened vs Enlightened... Let's discuss the difference
rene replied to qicat's topic in Newcomer Corner
Still with the "either/or", eh? (I like it though, very poetic!) -

CT, yes, and thanks. Especially for your: - which clarifies my earlier post to flowing hands about having no 'grave doubts'. Now, how are you at chopping wood? warm greetings- 126 replies

Hi Stosh I wish I had a magic wand, or magic words, to help you find what you seek. There is no wand and there are no words, whomever may speak them, that work for this. If there we're, we'd be hip-deep in Buddas, and the gentle rain would fall. I understand your frustration, for on the surface my post must have felt to you that you and others are left to 'wallow in paralyzing dubiousnes' to 'eat your cake' as you expressed. The underlying ideas in the post are very different, however, and I yield to the handfull of others here to explain them, if they choose to. You have been here for a long time, Stosh, and I read your exchanges with others, and you have already heard all the words, and ideas, many times over. Words alone dont work. Our perspectives are very different and all I can do is wish you well on your path, which I do. Now I literally do need to go chop wood, lol; thought we had enough to get through spring but need about half a cord more. If I find a magic wand in the wood pile - I'll be right back. Rombald, thank you, most appreciated (-: One of my projects for this summer is to start a build on a simple structure up on our mountain; this winter a few large cedars & firs dropped that may yield nice beams. It finally quit raining this morning so now I can get back out to work, heh. Enjoy your time in the forum, many wonderful people here! warm greetings (-:

Not sure it works that way, Stosh, but here is what one of them told me, a long time ago: "What could I show you that you have not already seen? What could I tell you that you have not already heard? What could you learn that you do not already understand? There is no need to be kind, just be yourself. Kindness comes naturally. There is no need to be just. As a whole human, you are already just. Being who you are in your heart, brings everything. You already know these things. They are naturally known, because they are natural. What more could I say that would be of any use?" warmest regards (-:- 126 replies

Rombald, hello! Thanks for sharing the pic; how nice for you to see the temples firsthand. Could you elaborate a bit on the way a Taoist shrine/temple became a Shinto or Buddhist temple? Were they confiscated? Sold? Or? I'm very interested. Thanks!

When you came to cross-roads in your life, what did you do?
rene replied to qicat's topic in General Discussion
It can get weird, yeppers. Some time ago, I was at a crossroads, had to choose between A, B & C. (Job offer, new relationship, moving to where I wanted to be) All were in different parts of the country, so had to choose between them. Here's what happened: I chose A. That morning, when I called to accept, the job offer was recinded. That afternoon, I chose B...only to have that door slam shut within hours. I was like WTF?? The next day I packed up & moved to the mountains, no job, knowing no one. So far it's working out fine. (-: Sometimes we choose & sometimes life chooses for us, lol. What works for me is to have a general idea of what I want, move in that direction, and then let whatever comes fill in the details. Best of luck!- 26 replies

Thanks for elaborating, and well put. Very much so. Most find what already fits with what they think. Perpetual imo applied.

No reason for doubts (grave or otherwise), imo, since it's pretty easy to tell - by what comes through the words.- 126 replies

In other words... the members of the sub-set depend on the size and nature of the circle you scribe? Just trying to follow your idea. Thanks!

rene replied to s1va's topic in General Discussion
Folks have their own reasons, yes? It may be that some want to help others & hope that something will work...or it might be only for profit; who knows? For me, there is no compulsion to blow away the clouds, one way or the other. It is fun, though, with they who already have the moon, to share words that convey so much more... so very much more. It might be that all agree that: Words alone can not convey; words can get in the way - when given more weight than is warranted. All the doctrines, words, paths, even ideas - are still just various fingers pointing at the same moon. We can all point, and say "Look! Look!" - but that's where the ability to convey ends. You either see it, or you dont. Of course, it's fun sometimes to try to convey, in this manner or that, and who knows what may or may not trigger the 'moon to come out' for somebody! All the while knowing, nothing will blow the clouds away for someone else with, or without, words. warmest regards- 126 replies

"So you think the Dao can be explained to a 5 year old?" Dao doesn't need to be explained to a 5 year old. (-:

Hope you do, and then let us know! (-:

Hubby & I were swapping funny drunk antics from our past, he said: "I wanted to go skinny dipping, so I took off all my clothes, put on my mask & flippers, & walked two blocks to the lake..." :D

Who is to know what is fantasy and what is not? I like the lines from the end of the last Harry Potter: "Is this real? Or is it all in my mind?" "Of course it's all in your mind, Harry, but why should that make it any less real?" (-:

Thanks for sharing that, Michael. If any of the nutritional suggestions pop out at ya, I'd love to hear your take. Warm regards (-:

I like that (-: I've always perceived each moment as a point on a circular path, moving through time, spiral motion, open and closed. Both, same time. Then again - I always had the good drugs, heh.

Good question! Any guesses?
