3bob, hi again That's an interesting idea about Ch49! If you'd like to explore that further, maybe we could meet over in the TTC section of the textual studies area.. so as to not disrupt the J Krishnamurti thread any more than we have. (-: warm regards

Nikolai1 - thanks for sharing your ideas about tao (-: and I apologize for disrupting your thread. warm regards

Have you not yet seen the universe in a single grain of sand? Without going outside, you may know the whole world. Without looking through the window, you may see the ways of heaven. ~ ddj47

hi 3bob (-: Exactly my point! "Real "Masters" have their own ideas about what is beneficial for others - and I gently leave them to it. warm regards

My people? By blood I'm german-jew + swede/tsalagi, raised by british athiest + french canadian catholic. So I guess my people are many people! Good thing I was left to find my own way amongst those genetics & environs, lol. Easy enough path to travel though; with tao in all - everywhere is home. (-: Not familiar with 'matrix style realization' so I look forward to reading about it in your posts. warm regards

A spiral is not a circle - just as step to the left, step to the right is not back and forth rocking. imo, of course

There is a difference, I think, between the actions and intentions of a 'do-gooder' - and one who unintentionally causes benefit to occur through natural actions. That analogy ^^ reflects, imo, the essence of Krishnamurti's idea regarding organized religions/methods/practices. Thanks for starting the thread, hotforest. (-: It's been a long time since I've heard Krishnamurti. Back in the pre-internet day, there was only the occasional broadcast on TV of his talks. I was tickled to now find them on YouTube.!

Hi Marblehead. When I want to quickly evaluate a translation of the TTC, I check how the author renders certain lines in Chapter 1. When I want to quickly evaluate a person's starting points regarding tao ideas - I ask them the same question I asked NotVoid. No wonder you thought I was wrestling with the question... as you've heard me ask it several times! warm regards

Iroquois.. okay... My late husband was Nishnaab; I'm quarter Tsalagi but we ran with the Lakota, which means I can raise hell just about anywhere. (-: And if for you water is just an idea - I hope you can scrub clean with sand! Enjoy your stay, Iroquois. *** Edit: I meant to ask - What kind of ninja training are you doing? Sounds very exciting.

NotVoid, thanks for your reply. (-:

NotVoid, hi, thanks for your reply. In your opinion, is it possible for someone to 'go against Tao' ? Not trying to go off-topic, just curious about your own starting point. You can disregard the question if you wish; no harm no foul. (-:

welcome spicychan. (-: which nation?
-
Oh - thanks for that link. I'm going to try that.

Similar to seeking Tao, imo. The search first requires the idea it's separate to begin with. The more intensely one tries to 'find', tries to 'connect', the more intensely the idea is reinforced; that something that was never lost, is.

It is, it is. I scratch cook, too - with one small exception for another treat (banana muffin cake) I wont give up; it uses an 89-cent Jiffy mix. I'm also cheap. (-: Here's the easiest fudge in the world. ***** In one sauce pan, over med-low heat, in this order: Melt 16oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips; keep stirring Stir in 1 can Eagle Condensed Milk Toss in big handful chopped walnuts (optional) When all combined, pour into saran-wrapped lined pan (I use 8x8) Chill When chilled, you can use the wrap to lift it out of the pan & cut into small squares **** I keep mine in the fridge. It freezes really well, too. One time I added a few drops of almond extract. That batch went fast.

Here's my super easy summertime fave: *** 3 Cucumbers, peeled & sliced thin + 1 small onion, sliced thin. Put in big bowl. In small bowl, Stir together:: 8oz sour cream, 2 T white vinegar, 2 T sugar, 1 t salt Pour over cucumbers & onions, mix well, cover, chill at least 2 hours. *** Oh my god. All summer long. (-: Nice to see you back, TS

No there isn't. Jetsun, on 04 Aug 2013 - 14:40, said: >The Dalai Lama used a spirit guide to avoid the Chinese invading armies when he escaped Tibet and the government in exile consults oracles regularly to help formulate policy. They use the Neichung oracle, which is a mundane gyalpo subjugated by Padmasambhava, as only one source of information. The Dalai Lama clearly says this in a youtube video. And Tibetans don't channel spirit guides for their practice as you were saying. Jetsun, on 04 Aug 2013 - 14:40, said: So its ok for someone like Dudjom Lingpa to teach from spirit instruction but if a Westerner writes a book like "A Course in Miracles" its somehow not as authentic? You are completely clueless. You guys are making New Age look better and better by the post. Just sayin.

Actually, this time, i think Apech may have been serious. Mods? At one point it seemed there was talk of an inner circle, with full-disclosed membership. That still in the works?

Marblehead, just so we don't lose ya, the character I posted was "Tao" and Stosh said, "You're welcome" - in Swahili (-:

I like that! Now when someone asks 'What is Tao?' we have our answer. (-: warm regards
