Yes, yes it would. And probably more than we'd perceive! 🦋

Oh honey if we could slow down the speed of light there would be no grass left to be affected, it having been already harvested dried smoked mowed.

My idea is that all kinds of information, life experiences, etc, - whatever a particle was part of or ever went through - is still present at the particle level; and that information is accessible to current configurations. If that is so - it would explain the source of many ideas, reincarnation being one of them. Whether passed on through genetic linking, or envionmental situations, like attracts like, familiar ground. Some people recall past lives and times so clearly.. it's easy to see how the idea of reincarnation came to be. That said, the idea of it used to reward/punish current behavior is, imo, just a lame control tool. There are other ways this passing of information occurs, but that's another topic. Best wishes to you & your wife!

Intentions. What's that old saying? Man plans; God laughs. 20 yrs ago, I was at a major crossroads, had to choose a new life-direction between A, B or C. Finally, I decided on A. Called to accept the job offer in a distant place only to find it withdrawn. Immediately contacted B - only to find that door had closed also. Went with C, my least favorite choice - and it turned out amazingly wonderful! I think it's fine to have intentions and a plan - as long as we stay open to the possibilities and good things that can happen when life takes us a different way. FWIW, I wouldn't go back 20yrs & change that outcome for the world. It brought me to where I am now. 🌲🌲⛷🌲

How to understand the Daodejing and similar taoist works?

Agree, fully. (-: -
Excellent! I'll set the tables and I bet we can get the speed of light to slow down so we can reallly see what's goin on.

I'm sure he doesn't and it's legal where he is. Legal here, too.

How to understand the Daodejing and similar taoist works?

Interesting thread! To me, a hint to your Master's suggestion is found in TTC38: "Therefore when Tao is lost, there is goodness. When goodness is lost, there is kindness. When kindness is lost, there is justice. When justice is lost, there is ritual. Now ritual is the husk of faith and loyalty, the beginning of confusion. Knowledge of the future is only a flowery trapping of Tao. It is the beginning of folly." As the 'only person on earth' - goodness, kindness, justice and ritual would not factor in..and understanding the TTC is not encumbered with morality... like it already is with thinking it's a primer for energy work, or thinking it's about only non-dual, or equating Tao with.. Gonna stop. Been here long enough to know when to stop. The rest of TTC38 expresses it well, however. -
Well, I think you all have been smoking silent thunder's lawn again. 🦋🌲❤

You are right, it is both - and at the same time. Every action, and non-action, is one of simultaneous creation and destruction; such is the way.

Agree and, imo, part of that 'adapting' is understanding that regardless of whether the things that happen are in or out of our control/responsibility - all outcomes are not knowable and rarely controllable. Positive attitudes and doing the best we can with what we got might be a good way to start. :-)

And then there's always Sai Ong's horse. Not possible to know eventual outcomes... but I like to think everything works out in the end, and whatever comes will be okay. (-:

I have a portable radio that uses 4 D-cell batteries. It only pulls 8 watts. What I want/need is a way to charge (re-charge) the batteries using solar only. I'd put one set in the radio and a second set on the charger in the sun. And maybe a third charged up set ready to go, lol, for winter cloudy days backup. Any and all ideas and product recommendations would be very much appreciated. Thanks!!

Yes, thats what I do now, but that will soon change...just tryin to stay alive here lol. I'm going to build your idea & pick up a volt meter with the parts & will let you know how it works. Thanks again! 🌲🦋❤

Here's the really sad part. We're already totally off-grid & powered only by solar. Had the massive system installed in 2016; it's big enough that other than wood for heat - everything is electric. Fridge, HW, AC in the summer, TV, lights, crockpots, even battery chargers. So why am I trying to do this for my 4 D-cells? Because all this electric hum in the cabin is tossing what's left of my noggin. The only thing that doesn't bother me much is a portable radio...and soft music is nice. That's why I'm building the wire-free chalet (see Viking thread), it will be a place I can get away from even the off-grid fully modern constantly buzzing cabin. I used to know how it all worked, but dont now..and the last thing I want in the chalet is a humming inverter & fans running... So. There's a sunny spot about 50' away from where the chalet will be built, and all I want is to run my radio. Your idea seems simple enough for me to do. (-: You know the rest. Thanks again!

Oh excellent! Dont most normal chargers have an auto shutoff, either timed or metered? How will I know when they're ready to go? Will a continued charge hurt them if I dont get them off in time? Are you sorry yet you started to help me? I truly appreciate your time on this, MH, thank you. I really need to find a workable way...

Ohh!! Need to check this out!! Thanks, Nungali !! (-:

Right, good ideas, thanks (-: Hmm - wont a 6v panel fry a 1.5v D-cell directly wired to it? Maybe there's a charge controller that could be put between them? Good idea using a 4-battery flashlight for housing..wonder if I should use a plastic cased one lol

I like the idea of making my own charger! Can you tell me more about this set-up & components? Or where I might find more info? Thanks!

Thanks for the ideas & links (-: The idea of hand cranked intrigued me so searching reviews & then specs on the top rated one said 15-20 min of listening for 5 min of cranking. Hmmm...lol. A quantity of rechargeables might be the way to go. Thanks again (-:

Listened to it all, very interesting! Sounds like you have your own rendition of the 'swamp' and Brexit might help drain a big part of that.. or perhaps not."Civil Service" rules here too.. only our version of Yes, Prime Minister (the old tv show) is lethal and never funny. Hard Brexit should have come within 30 days of the vote, imo. There are always ways. Just slip out the back, Jack. Thanks again.

Ditto what dawei said, Patrick. Thanks for the thread & keep it coming. Going to watch the Farage vid now.
