  1. An Altar for Sree

dawei - I agree and well put. Unfortunately, the idea of "Devotion/worship" has been repeatedly and rudely shoved in the face of those participating in this thread who may be more inclined towards 'Symbolism'. Maybe sree will understand your words better. (-: newTaoist - You didn't, and haven't. (-: warm regards p.s..newTaoist - major kudos on the DengMingDao catch! Looking forward to parts 2&3 !
  2. An Altar for Sree

newTaoist, your words are clear. dawei - sree wants an altar for worship, devotion; newTaoist speaks of an altar "as symbolism, for and in one's subconcious mind". Do you see the difference between what they seek? It seems as there is an attempt to subsume one idea within the other, when both are equally valid on their own, imo. Thoughts?
  3. Ambigrams and the Tao

John, thanks for your reply. Looking forward to your posts. Door's open. (-:
  4. I am a

    goooooooood !
  5. I have some

you also have your 5 required Lobby posts. Jump on in, and welcome (-:
  6. New

lol yeah edit: At least they're hitting my profile every couple hours now instead of every 15 minutes... oh well. (-:
  7. Forsake knowledge

Yes, and the fourth line of Ch19: These three are outward forms alone; they are not sufficient in themselves. - proves it as well, imo warm regards
  8. hi

site havin probs w/bots read the new post at top of lobby post 2 more times in here and you're in good luck!
  9. Forsake knowledge

CD - i was using only in a different manner; for example. Yin is not only yin, within is the seed of yang Yang is not only yang, within is the seed of yin. ********** flowinghands - there are lots of rules in "Daoism"... but that is of no concern. Li Ehr's Dao is something else entirely. (-: warm regards
  10. Forsake knowledge

lienshan, hi Is there any way that Laozi could have meant: "Reject only wisdom! or Reject only knowledge! or Reject only experience!" ? Perhaps underlying the ambiguity you find, the "only" is implied. Whatcha think?
  11. Forsake knowledge

So it does! I obviously didn't waste any time examining each and every word in that pic...but rather went with the point of what was being said: That the rain needs no translation. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, for it (embarrasingly) reinforces the idea of either extreme being less than useful. warmest regards
  12. An Altar for Sree

Well, thats a relief, lol. For a while it was like listening to Jesus with soy sauce. I see now that's not the case; Jesus would have welcomed bums and hypocrites. (As would probably most 'Philosophical Daoists') Even though I am not a Philosophical Daoist, I wish you good luck on your path. Maybe soon you will have followers to stand with you in your cause; or at the very least you are able to let go of your fear of flying alone. (-: warm regards
  13. New

dunno if there are 'sides' stosh maybe more like we're all just doin the best we can btw - looks like the bee-bots have found your profile too now, lol. welcome, mudfoot. the site is having probs with spammers you only need to make 3 more posts in here to get into the main area has nothing to do with what you are 'informed enough' to talk about i assure you, most here have no clue what they're talking about myself included. myself especially. (-: warm regards
  14. An Altar for Sree

Yes, but who? Philosophical Daoists? I'm curious as to which group you are trying to 'save' from only having 'small talk'. Your posts suggest you are speaking for all of them. Is that what you believe you are doing? thanks!
  15. Hello_again rene!

you too, fpck, and welcome in. (-: *** hey Viator! those dam bots are swarming me again (look at the Recent Visitors on my profile). got any bug spray? LOL
  16. Forsake knowledge

Who said anything about waste? There seems to be a real "either/or" component sneaking into this thread... Extreme ends (either end) still cannot exist without its compliment. Beginning and end, standing alone, are undefined. No waste that I can see. warm regards
  17. Forsake knowledge

hey lienshan - look at your post #39, at what you have me quoted as saying. where did those words come from? Not me. thanks!
  18. Forsake knowledge

I guess some people feel the rain, others just get wet.
  19. Ambigrams and the Tao

yes right click copy on the image, paste icon just above reply window. there's a bit-limit to what you can put here though...you'll discover about it in your user settings. John, I've been through your site, very very cool stuff. Were you involved with the ambigram generator? that was fun (-: Looking forward to your ideas about Tao, specifically what you think 'Tao' is. warm regards
  20. Hello from a new forum member.

lol pfl - Viator changed it down to 5 posts so that goes quick enough. Glad you're helpin out here. warm regards
  21. Hello_again rene!

hey fpck! dont give up now - you only need one more post! LOL
  22. Hello_again rene!

thanks Viator! I understand and welcome your attempts though. Those little shit bot bees swarmed my Profile for 2 hrs last night. LOL and I see there are 3 online now trying to get in. Maybe the initial 'sign-up' process - back at the Validating stage - could be reworked? One that would require them to make an actual coherent post before they even get into the Lobby? It would mean more work for you honchos... but they could be swatted before they even got in this far. Thanks for your efforts, most appreciated. warm regards
  23. An Altar for Sree

sree, hi Who is the we you are referring to? Thanks!
  24. Hello_again rene!

Agree; maybe 5 would be better? Bees around here bang against the screen 3 times before giving up and buzzin off... Not sure how many attempts bots make - but if it's more than 5 then 10 wont slow them down. I rarely make 10 posts in my own threads. LOL
