  1. Healing vs Medicine.

personally I do both, ie I'll take medicine sending it down with positive intentions and I'll get into deep trance state and send what ever healing I can into an area, often first thing in the morning and an evening session. Don't know how effective I am, but why not. Blood/energy follows intention.. or so they say.
  2. Stainless steel

Different folks get different results. Depends on there sensitivity. I wear a regular quartz watch, but I'm not very energy sensitive. I got a watch for my daughter because I liked the look and the color, its suppose to provide 'positive' vibes, whatever that means. Sometimes half of these affects are mental.
  3. Marble Gardens & Fish Ponds

tell me more. I was hoping flushing with fresh water every day might keep the mildew away. By bonsai style do you mean more pebbles or more water, less often?
  4. No biggie. Just thinking that many threads in the Moderation Log get long and waay off subject. Its Important to let everyone have there say, but after that maybe they should be locked earlier. just a suggestion, cause its easier to suggest then do actual work.
  5. Stainless steel

Don't know about stainless steel. Sciencewise it tends to be very neutral to chemicals. Interestingly I remember that Michael Winn, a Healing Tao teacher won't wear watches that use a quartz crystal mechanism (ie most commercial watches) because they interfere with his chi.
  6. Marble Gardens & Fish Ponds

i always preferred honeydew to honey don't. One item on my mostly forgotten to do list, is to build a terrarium which grows either sprouts or microgreens. Setting it up to look like vast fields with multiple minicrops. A spot where you add a cup of water each day to keep things moist, maybe a guppy in the runoff pond.
  7. "Mysterious Pass"

Thanks for the reminder. Cleary's thick heavy dated tomes translating authentic classics hold more value then a 1,000 pop philosophy books.
  8. A synopsis of an article I just wrote in Chinese

Nice article. Lotta food for thought in the last paragraph 'Because these three gods exist in the pre heaven state, we can't ask for them in the post heaven state. Asking for them in the post heaven state is silly and superstitious. The highest method to meet with immortals is to quiet the mind, focus on non action, action without action, and non being. Gradually you will enter the pre heaven environment and realize that immortality is not gained by praying to live forever and not die, but by recognizing the essential, forever lasting, nature of nature. This is the best path to meet with immortality and is a great mercy!' I just wish there was a better word then god for the phenomena you are talking about, because it's such a loaded word in English and the West. In essence your dealing with terms that each have pages of definition and nuances. No easy task.
  9. Don't I already have one or two threads in the moderation log section? If I wasn't suspended at least once for bad behavior during my long tenure here I'd be ashamed of myself.
  10. The origin of mankind

ofcourse mate, Stralia is pretty much a concentration of all things deadly and poisonous to man. The whole continent is pretty much a practical joke god laid out for his own twisted amusement. sorry Aussies but you know its true.
  11. King Tut's meteorite knife

meteor metals are fascinating, but in this case, you guys can take the knife, just leave me the sheath. Pretty fancy goldsmithing there.
  12. These days with a smart phone, particularly with a bigger screen, allows you to get by without a laptop. They do it all. Double check this, but often all you need is to replace the sim card with a local one and you are off and running. Skype and skype phone to phone calling being relatively cheap.
  13. Meditating while texting

When texting anything longer then 6 words I hit the microphone icon and instead of typing dictate it. Starting each text with a series of 64 Ohmnss. Generally I don't get texts or calls back after that.
  14. See if you can find a copy of this great adventure travel philosophy book 'The Gods Drink Whiskey: Stumbling Toward Enlightenment in the Land of the Tattered Buddha ' by Asma. Great read with surprisingly deep information on Buddhism.
  15. Mod Memorial Day

Thank you mods for taking on an often thankless job. And let us raise a glass to the unknown mod, lying somewhere in the electronic wasteland, alone, embittered, having lost their mind, burnt to a crisp, trying to put out a flame war on a philosophy site in a heated discussion about love. Here's to you, you poor bastard.
  16. Donating Plasma

Donating blood or plasma you're helping save a life. So in my point of view, it's all good, even if one is a bit weaker afterwards. Sciencewise I've heard its good for men who tend to have too much iron, and also good to give the body a bit of exercise rejuvenating the blood.
  17. Water "Bending"

nope, closest I get is in the hermetic exercise by Rawn Clark in the Archaeous series. An elemental series where you 'stack/vibe' the elements to your body, ie legs to hips- earth, stomach to water, lungs to air, head to fire/electrical/awareness. I'm leery of letting pop shows, like Avatar or say Matrix, leak into my practices. On the other hand, I'm told if you get deeply into Hermetics, years and years, you might make the acquaintance of water nymphs.. that's far above my pay grade nor are such nymphs and spirits likely to follow your commands.
  18. Welles What is your definitions of rainbow body and enlightenment? How much do you find energetic versus mental enlightenment?
  19. Following Systems

<looks around to see if there are any woman watching. sees none> Systems are like woman. When we're young we go out, have dates, play around, have fun. Sooner or later we find the right gal, and the only way to get deep is to commit. Once we do, our learning and practice accelerate.
  20. You are Gods

The best, seem to walk with God, and when you do that, little problems don't matter so much. And they learn most problems are little ones. Pain and certain deprivations are inevitable but suffering is a choice. Not easy but most of us aren't at that level.
  21. 'A Gradual Awakening' by Stephen Levine. I had that in my backpack when I went through the Middle East and Europe. I also picked up the book 'Masters of the Way' on the trip which also inspired me to to possibilities.
  22. I think its been ever thus, the whole- everybody is having sex but me, feeling. As far as the size hangup, its probably more a mental problem then physical one. In truth no knows any ones size; we tend to have sex in the dark, under sheets and a skillful enthusiastic, patient lover trumps an ignorant one. In my twenties I took a 10 week massage course to learn the proper to pleasurably touch others. Quite worthwhile. As I said to another member earlier, you want to go celibate for a while, a year or two, why not. Leave the dating game alone til you're in a neutral state of mind and/or an opportunity or attraction comes along. Things change, people will come into your life. Be open, be friendly, drop the negativity towards woman, they're all individuals like you with good points and hangups, beware generalizations. Twenties is not an easy age for complete celibacy. Be careful. Depending on your body type, if you're not in a practice that specifically transforms jing (ie advanced) be willing to blow off steam if your mind or body gets too heated.
  23. The definition of space

The final frontier, where I put my stuff. addon If I wanted to be serious, I'd say space is.. no.. space can be described by a 3 dimensional matrix. It can be accurately, mathematically measured, at least statically. Math gets a little fuzzier as gravity, time, speed and perspective warp its foundation at the extremes.. In truth the math, its measurements and formulas don't explain what space is. Stringy, quarky.. not that it matters at our size and state of awareness. Mostly we use space to walk around in, and keep our stuff. Times job is to to keep everything from happening at once. Perhaps Space happens to keep everything separate. Perhaps ".. from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff.”
  24. Good, but as long as we don't make a path a tight rope, moving along the way respected elders mapped out, might get you to scenic areas a little faster then meandering (& circling) on your own. Once there, its certainly good to be your own person and let the path become a garden.
  25. Horticulture, grow your veggies the tranquil path.

My wife and daughter started a garden in the backyard. I have 2 small ones in the front. Better in the front because you see it each day, making you more likely to weed and water. They went for fruit, watermelon (very ambitious), strawberries and lettuce. As usual I'm aiming at a gazpacho garden, tomatoes, mostly sweet grape sized ones, peppers and cukes. Up til now its been unusually cool this summer but warming up lately. Only new plan is to grow a hanging lettuce bowl. I've drilled holes in a hanging pot, bought cheap lettuce seedlings to stuff through the holes, some good soil, miracle grow (its like cheating). I just have roll up my sleeves and start filling it up. I'll plant mesclun seeds on top. I also bought pansies to give it color and they're edible. How are your gardens going?
