HEY!, I have feelings for Earth, its where I keep my stuff. Some of us, especially me are seeing how humorous we can be. Sometimes in the face of great loss and insanity, humor bonds people together and helps us stay sane. Give it a try. Lighten up, make a joke out of the ridiculous.

Thanks Sean added: There is a minor spacing problem. Seems like there's more white space between the picture and forum start. Which means more scrolling and less conversation. & I liked the 'Working on Site' picture

Hadn' t heard of them before. I enjoy playing around with new meditative sounds. Big files, 10 Meg a minute. Just downloaded the 4 samples and I'll give them a try. So far the Neuro Charger is making me feel a little dizzy!?

I assume its hard to predict what an enlightened person would do. With enlightenment comes <again I assume> a huge degree of freedom. And they're still individuals not cookie cutter identical to everyone else. One martial artist I took a few seminars from was Sensei Mitsugi Saotome. I don't know if he was enlightened but he did have satori experiences, or so his books says. From my viewpoint as an Aikidoist he showed complete freedom in his movement. He responded with confidence and beyond technique. Very very impressive. I think the lack of tolerance in RB's (Realized Beings) may be more reflective of Vmarco's viewpoint then a universal one. In many cases they seem to open up to the beauty of the world and take everything especially foolish human actions with compassion and a grain of salt.

Let's see how well this copied and pasted: not bad. Tao of HS&L has a long section on Trophology also: its too much work for me normally. But when sick and as get older, I give it more respect. Source: Tao of Health, Sex, and Longevity, Daniel Reid, Fireside, New York, pp 88-89 Food Categories in Food Combining Chart I. Proteins: foods that contain 15 per cent or more protein matter Concentrated proteins: meat, fish, fowl, eggs, milk, cheese Light proteins: nuts, beans, peas, soy beans products, avocados whole grains II. Carbohydrates: foods that contain 20 per cent or more starch and/or sugars Starch: peanuts, bananas, potatoes, all pasta product, rice breads, cakes, pies, refined cereals, etc. Sugars: whole, brown and raw cane sugar, fructose, honey, maple syrup, dried sweet fruits (dates, raisins, figs, prunes) III. Fats: animal or vegetable oils Animal: butter, cream, lard, tallow, fatty meats Vegetable: Olive, soy bean, sunflower seed, sesame, safflower corn, and all nut oils IV. Vegetables: lettuce, celery, cabbage, broccoli, spinach, bean sprouts, cucumber, asparagus, onion, eggplant, turnip,water- cress, leek, zuccini, string bean, green pepper, radish, carrot, okra, artichoke, olive, etc. Exceptions: potatoes act as a starch; tomatoes act as an acid fruit V. Fruits Acid fruits: orange, grapefruit, lime, lemon, berries, cranberry pineapple, tomato Sub-acid fruits: apple, pear/ peach, cherry, grape, apricot, nec- tarine, plum, etc. Melons: watermelon, musk melon, honey dew melon, cantaloupe, papaya, etc. Exceptions: bananas act as a starch; dried figs, dates, raisns and prunes act as sugars Notes: 1. 'No' denotes incompatible combinations. 2. 'Yes' denotes compatible combinations. 3. Milk is best taken completely alone as a protein food, preferably as raw certified milk. 4. Melons are not included in the 'fruit' headings above; they should always be eaten alone for optimum digestion and assimilation. 5. Bananas, figs, dates, prunes and raisins are sugar/starch foods of the very best quality, and should not be mixed with proteins. 6. Vegetables combine well with everything, except for potatoes (a starch) and tomatoes (an acid). 7. Fats should be avoided with concentrated proteins, but are relatively compatible with light proteins. 8. The closer to the fresh, raw state a food is consumed, the more com- patible it is with other varieties of food; therefore, try to make at least 50% of your diet consist of fresh, raw foods consumed in the fresh, raw state. That will provide the active enzymes and moist, raw fiber required to compensate for incompatible combinations of cooked foods.

Hi It can be hard to find people on chat. The best way is to create a new post in the General Discussion area saying 'I'm heading to chat now'. People see it and you can get an interesting often international bunch. Display name?? Yours seems fine, but you might want to scroll down the page to Forum & Tech Support and create a new post asking about name change. You might have something with the concept of one eyed enlightenment. Yours Michael

I have to force myself not to buy books. Its easy to get too top heavy, to theoretical, to philosophical. Marry a system, practice it faithfully, flirt with others .

Wait, I thought we were being manipulated by the reptilians, not the moon aliens. Wait I thought the world was about to descend into apocalypse in 1980's when he first starting writing. Wait I thought each prime minister was the anti-christ. Wait I thought each pope the antichrist. Wait I thought each president since he started writing was the anti-christ. He seems to preach the same hysteric paranoid themes over and over. Every 5 or 6 years it changes slightly to make way for the latest pop culture movie and/or batch of politicians.

Industrial Society Destroys Mind and Environment
thelerner replied to sushil_yadav's topic in General Discussion
Sushil how would you address the fact that hunter gathering humans might also destroy the world or at least parts of its eco diversity. You mentioned earlier the loss of 4 elephants. Hunter Gatherers in the Prehistoric America probably hunted mammoths, wooly rhinoceros pretty much all the fuzzy funny creatures in the Ice Age movies to extinction. Civilization has created sanctuaries and protections for such animals now. I strongly suspect without civilization the remaining species would inevitably wind up on someones dinner plate. Is that a concern to you? -

What a great video. If anyone is interested in full lotus, they should not only watch this but subscribe to David Keils's youtube videos. -
I see he comes from Shotokan Karate. I studied the style in highschool and was very happy to find a traditional Shotokan dojo for my kids to join. Not for martial prowess per se, there are holes in the training, but because there were constant messages and examples of courage, honor, hard work and impeccability. Lessons that happen to rarely in our society.

Books on Westerners in search of Real Martial Arts. Iron and Silk, book and movie by Mark Salzman moving to China to study Wushu Angry White Pyjamas, book by Robert Twigger studying hard style Aikido in Japan The Human Weapon is a good TV series about 2 trained MMA fighters traveling the world and learning various martial arts. It could easily been a shlocky show, but the respect the men show the various arts and teachers is very well done. Raising the bar head and shoulders above most reality TV. Shows include well known well arts like karate, Judo, as well Sambo, Silat, Krav Maga and Marine Martial arts. At the end both men have matches in the art they've studied. Any others recommended? Books about the martial art experience rather then technique.

Hmnn, wonder how many 100's of dojo's he's visited in the U.S? Still martial arts is time consuming and if you're smart and not unlucky you tend to avoid life and death fights. I respect those who train 8 hours a day, but thats a high price to pay, particularly if you want a life outside. Your master may pity those who don't, others will pity those who spend all there time practicing. The big movement in the West has been Mixed Martial Art (MMA) fighting which incorporates moves from different arts often w/ Brazilian Ju Jitsu as a firm base. Early on the Brazilian JJ wiped the floor with other styles in free style contests. Old styles fell with relative ease to it much to the surprise and shock of traditional teachers. Later as defenses become better it become neutralized. But here in the states the MMA fighters who train very hard and have tended to beat pure styles. These days it rare to see a pure style compete, they're simply outmatched. Myself, I probably fall into the slacker category of martial artists, not that I'm actively training these days. Style was KI-Aikido, I probably trained maybe 12 hours a week at the dojo, a few more hours a week solo. I studied actively for 13 years. The training was more interested in life training then death matches. As long as you know the benefits and limitations and dare I say weaknesses of the art I think your fine. The problem comes when dojo's make claims that fill heads with grandiose ideas. What I learned helped me immensely. Hard strikes, hard falls, done in a friendly environment at a time when my work life was high stress and I needed a place to blow off steam physically and mentally. Ki-Aikido allowed safe but hard contact. Not always realistic, but it include breathing, meditation and healing aspects, and those things are just likely to save my life as any martial technique.

Thanks. This year I'm going solo, but would like to hook up with a larger site, perhaps one of the hundreds of themed camps. I've got a few months to find one. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be glad to hear it.

I understand where you're coming from. Is there any way to tell the difference between an entity and being bothered by a psychological problem? Or is it a matter of you'll know it if it happens?
-
I worry that masters who charge for finding entities, will find entities everywhere and in everyone. Some olde tyme taoists priests do a wonderful business in Fu's. Selling them to ward off evil spirits, stepping in dog shit, or to ransom your ancestors back from hell. I don't like it. For some, belief makes it real; and they become easy marks to the inscrupulous, but also to people who sincerely believe and bilk the same as total frauds. Still I've been around enough to know the world has things beyond my understanding, things and dimensions beyond the tic toc norm. I assume most things are self created psychological imaginings and when ignored go away. For those that don't I'd consider getting professional help to exorcise. Dybbuks..??..hmnn disembodied souls with a penchant for malice. Its interesting how some orthodox jewish beliefs come close to tibetan as far as the disorientation of the newly dead. Do I believe..not actively, but like others its filed in a the 'Don't Know' cabinet. The folders get thicker each year, and stay largely ignored. I know they are there and should I need them, doubtful but possible, I have an idea who to call.

I've been in writers groups for years. What I've been taught is the secret to writing is to turn off the censor. Learn to let your writing flow without editing. Trust your fingers. Having a PPD page gives me an opportunity to write. Just as important it serves as diary and recorder for past and future indiscretions. And as important as that is it clarifies what I think. Truly I don't always know unless I start writing. Writing is part Ouiji board, part Rorschach test & word association rolled into one. I gain access to my sub conscious, even more so if I write by hand, where my script is filled with tells.

The Real Shargung La Monastery at Yarlung Tsangpo Canyon
thelerner replied to Immortal4life's topic in General Discussion
Is this the beginning of 14 or 15 new topics on the same subject, 2 or 3 each day, filled with you repeatedly posting to yourself? I understand this is your passion, but could you congregate your posts in a single thread instead of repeating your past behavior of creating a dozen or more new topics in a week that imo disrupt the flow of conversation in the site.- 16 replies
