  1. What do you want me to say? Wonder why you're in outer space pushing a ball up a frictionless incline? Give you a taoist formula for for relevant coefficients? Yeah, okay. You win, I'll never convince you its a worthwhile tool for creating strategy and understanding interactions in the world. I go yin. But you loose a valuable way of thinking and living, perhaps no loss.
  2. QiGong, Chi Kung

If its anything like Max's Kunlun, ie hit the position, ankles up.. then it took me a couple weeks before I had any 'movement'.
  3. Is violence justified

Diminish our desires.. I suppose in this case its the strong desire for uninterrupted peace. We all crave peace and respect. You didn't react in anger when yours was broken several times. You diminished the desire, but not being saintly (or stupid) the need remained and you acted honestly and strategically to change the situation. Strong desires tend to bloat the ego.
  4. Yogani caught on Amazon

respect I understand where you're coming from.

the 7 stars, no comments is unusual. TI obviously you've got a score to settle with AYP and won't rest til its done. My recommendation, take a rest anyway. In truth, AYP is rarely mentioned here, except by you. Personally I've rarely gone to the AYP site, but the little I've read there in the past seemed pretty intelligent.
  6. Releasing Diaphragm

A talented Tao Bum Pietro had a long thread on breathing in his Personal Discussion area. It touched on many aspects of breath including the diaphragm. Here's a link: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?/topic/12618-learning-to-breath/
  7. That is the most freakin tonic I've ever seen. Ingredients from sea horses to human placenta! During the birth of one of my kids I thought I should grab some of this bloody ropey slime. I could just see the doctor saying 'Here is your new boy son' and me saying 'Hold on, I'm just getting some of this placenta off the floor! I'll need to dry it for a tonic' Hello State Child Services Parole.
  8. Dang it, that sounds real similar to the missionary door knockers I just sent away. Except your version of religion will be the absolute right one- Because of your unique super powers and insight. You know what, live your truth, help others if they ask, but I don't think we need another would be messiah running around. With the internet we can google'em by the dozen. What's got the most plus's of any post lately is the guy who said 'the real masters are the quiet ones'. That resonated. Maybe with real power comes real wisdom and that creates the realization that people have to figure out there own damn problems.
  9. Physical

Actually in a book by George Leonard 'The Life We Are Given' has a year long program with physical and mental exercises, diet scheme etc., You set easy, medium, and a Siddhi level goal, like grow 2 inches. Can't say I tried it, but its out there.
  10. Is violence justified

    I like this.
  11. Warriors often did standing meditation, sometimes called Zhan Zhang. We have a few threads on it. It might be up your alley. A classic book on it is 'The Way of Energy' by Lam. There are probably quite a few sites talking about different styles. It is simple, but not easy. Even the simple postures can be improved with an experienced teachers help. It might be worth looking into. I like to 'just stand' and listen to Rawn Clark's Archaeous series. They're 15 minute meditations on his version of element theory; ie legs are earth(strong, stoic, relaxed), belly area water (flowing, adapting, life giving..) etc., Rawn didn't mean for it to be done standing but I think it works very well. It really makes the 15 minutes fly by and later series goes into more depth on spiritual aspects. I like all of his meditation series, imo he's a genius. They're at Abardoncompanion.com and they're all free mp3's.
  12. Is violence justified

If you were a saint I'd have to chide you. But you're human, he provoked multiple times; in my book you acted appropriately. Next, take your cue from his reactions. If he follows true to the bully/ape way, he'll be cowed, stop bothering you and act like it never happened, which is good. If he doesn't mention it, maybe you shouldn't either. Otherwise be honest with the kid; try to stay away from anger and accusations, but tell him your side. In honesty there is strength.
  13. What do you think of David Icke?

Yup. He makes a living out of conspiracy theories and fear mongering. I doubt he believes all the crap he writes, but probably has a following of paranoids who see him as a messiah. Undoubtedly like a broken clockcalendar he's right some of the time, but in those cases he does the cause a disservice by reporting in his hyper red alert mode. Course trashing him probably means me and anamatva are space alien lizard beings. Whoops now I have to kill U.
  14. I've listened to some of JJ Semples podcasts, they're very interesting. Which of his books do you have? And what do you think of them. Thanks Michael also congrads on your discipline and progress.
  15. Here's another target. Sometimes its good to move in the opposite direction of your strength.(!) You're very yang; doing hard style martial arts, looking for intense chi gung. Maybe go yin. Gentle yoga, slow tai chi, sitting zazen, or a healing gi gung like Stillness-Motion. Why? Because it'll keep you in balance, make you more rounded and complete. Sometimes the hardest thing is to slow down, but its essential. You're already running and fighting; perfect your sitting and breathing. It'll help you. Then keep your eyes open for a chance to learn from a highly qualified teacher. As you wait (years?), you'll learn and be worthy of the teaching. Keep your yang, learn the yin. my two cents
  16. Good to see you back online :)

  17. Looking over the list I don't see a listing for JPS (Just Plain Stupid). Oh well its all Greek to me.

  20. Is all of this really true about QiGong?

You're probably more likely to get in trouble if you're too believing; searching for the super powered master who'll give away secrets like M&M's. As if the nature of ability can be given without being earned through long hard study. But there's also the problem of being too skeptical. Your wallet will be safe but you'll miss some of the most amazing people in this world, dismissing them and lose a chance to see and possibly learn something. Meeting them, the living saints, the high masters, won't give you any powers, but it'll show you whats possible and inspire. How sad it would be, to miss whole dimensions of life, because we dismissed them out of hand. Use your brain; think, compare, learn. But for gods sake shut it down every now and then and take leaps of faith.
  21. bumping up my old post in hopes I'll get back into the groove.
  22. Is all of this really true about QiGong?

In Ki-Aikido we'd work with touchless throws, done when an attacker was coming full force. Note the full force was a needed ingredient and not necessarily one that happens in a 'real' fight. It honestly worked on us, there was specific simpatico motion that was needed. In some ways its a matter of timing; a mundane explantion is its a powerful fake, yet there has to be something behind it, spirit/ki and that not so secret ingredient, experience. With my instructor for example when touchless failed, within the same motion, the attacker would be clobbered because behind the fake was his ability to transfer the power of his whole body into his fingers. Thus his fingers would touch you with amazing force. In essence, you'd drop before touchlessly or get wiped out seemingly by fingers. From my experience people didn't use touchless techniques in free style sparring. Its an interesting thing to learn but in most schools its a teacher on student kind of phenomena. Don't expect to see it in the MMA or on the streets.
  23. It's 4:50 Chicago time. I find it easier to get people online when you post a New Topic and it naturally falls down the list quickly. Let's see if we can get a small group, shall we.
  24. I'm going to 'Chat' room now

    5:15, we have 3 online
  25. QiGong, Chi Kung

Hmnnn, are you at all familiar with Sifu Lamb? Have you been to one of her seminars or seen the CD? Personally I haven't, but people I respect have and reported Lamb to be an excellent, well balanced teacher.
