Hi casimir, those are great goals. I'm a fan of Franz Bardon's work. I find William Mistele and Rawn Clark to be great resources and generous with there teachings. I don't practice IIH but do many of Rawn Clark's 'Bardon inspired' exercises. His notes on the IIH are were very helpful when I was working with the lower lessons. The only spontaneous gi gung I have experience with is Max Christensons Kunlun. I didn't have any problems with it, but the being open mind & body, going with the flow, could possibly make one vulnerable to.. spirits. In this case I think it was spidery things? I don't think it hit most people, maybe it opens up the subconscious to archetypes or it could be getting attention from lineage spirits who may or may not like you. -

hmnn, if we could find it, the mods might have the power to place a hidden thread into a hidden Topic in your PPD. That way only you could see it and edit it. ie you create hidden Topic in your PPD and if we can find the hidden thread, we could place it there. -

I echo the 'never forcing' advice. When forced and not coming naturally, celibacy can work against you, mind and body. Bringing more energy but it can be 'hot' and aggressive. Perhaps worthwhile short term, but long term the jing conversion stuff is advanced, best done with a real teacher over years.

Usually I don't meditate to music. Worrying that I'll use it as a crutch, a distraction of the mind. Often in simple sitting I'll do a little continuous bobbing motion, it burns off a little energy and helps me sit longer with more comfort. If I ever join the Shaker religion I'll fit in. Haven't been doing it much lately, but for years before meditation I'd mentally recite a list of negations.. I'm not my body, I am that which inhabits it.. I'm not my thoughts, they are like clouds passing.. not my..emotions..past.. future..possessions.. I am breath and awareness.. Lately I've been using the Breath Mantra youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnGh6CcWVAv2GpiiOj3nGYQ which has 30 minute breath sequences along with some light music. Often when I do zhan zhuang I'll listen to Rawn Clarks Archaeous lessons, which are just 15 minutes long. The Archaeous is a hermetic element system. When I do a spontaneous qi gong like Max Christensons Kunlun there's no music, but sometimes I'll imagine I'll holding a battery. I enjoy listening to Yoga Nidra meditations. They usually have you dedicate a meditation to a particular spiritual quality you're after. Set and forget. -
I'm reminded again of a well studied Westerner who went to a Daoism conference in China. In a discussion on Lao Zi, brought up the point on whether he should be considered a real historic figure or not. She was kicked out of the conference. wah wah. Thus be careful where you ask the question. There's a famous book, not the TTC, that is credited to Lao Zi, but seems to be written much much later. Good book, I forget the name, it might be somewhat common for books to get credited with famous sages name. My view.. don't know.. I assume there is a sage behind the legend. The wisdom of the book is more important then the unknowable details of its writing. I just picked up the Heshang Gong Commentary on Lao Zi's Dao De Jing. Good book with indepth commentary on the philosophy including a historical overview of its meaning. Willing to cross reference different chapters to draw out subjects.

Members support this process by 'reporting' offending posts A fictional example of how 1&2 shake out: If there's a TDBs debate about music between Mozart vs a beginning piano player, and it becomes heated enough that reports are generated for moderator consideration then, still, "level of knowledge, achievement, or status" are not basis for moderation. Civility is, applied equally to each member. It's up to each member, not moderators, to sort out the truth (and other questions of quality) for themselves in conversation. Moderators just keep the conversation civil within reasonable limits. For issues of staff bias, members can contact the current admin. The staff (admins, moderators) also deserve and have protection against incivility and against abuse of staff resources. Staff protection is enforced at the discretion of the admin, lead moderator/s, and by consensus of the moderation team.
