From what I remember from a certain book (I aknowledge there is a bit of controversy if all of it is correct), the goal in Mopai practice is still to sustain the yang qi in a way that it will not disperse upon physical death. The yang qi is the "security" to maintain ones personality beyond the death of the body. So while the practice also includes the intake of yin qi, it is not that contrary to other schools or the "general picture".

This is incorrect. The so called "Abramelin demons" share names with the spirits of the earth girdling zone. Spirits in cypher are the spirits of the moon zone. Also this cypher does not origin from Bardon, but, as most of his evocation material, from Quintscher (just without Quintschers somewhat useless mystification).

Boddhidharma & Shaolin 18 Lohan Hands
bakeneko replied to Immortal4life's topic in General Discussion
The first few, such as "lifting the sky" are also known as the "eight brocades" and (in a rather mythological way) attributed to Yue Fei. The 18 Lohan known to me are IMO part of the Yi Jin Jing (together with a set of tendon exercises found in some older Chinese gong fu books) and form the foundation of the extended use of the (sometimes falsely presumed as lost) Xi Sui Jing. The basic sitting posture of the latter is interestingly similar (or rather same) to the "level 1" Mo Pai sitting posture. -
If the info in her bio are correct, she is one of the people to stay away from. But then, most "teachers" nowadays are like this it seems.

It's not necessarily any "egregore". Usually shen gong is more like a religious practice that connects with one or various deities, whose energies are channeled by recitation of scriptures and passwords. Mao Shan Shen Gong likely being the one which is also a bit well known in the "west" at least by name. If the practice does not only channel some "egregores" or ghosts or similar beings, but actual higher shen, then one is able to cultivate pre-heaven energy, which is obviously the goal in such practices and which then can be used for gong fu or whatever else. Just doing some qi gong forms is not shen gong.

Are We Heading Towards A One-World Religion?
bakeneko replied to silas's topic in General Discussion
I also hope not. Bad enough that a fake religion like Christianity is still thiving (albeit it seems mostly among Asians who forgot their roots and have no idea about religious history), but it is IMO not qualified as a "world religion" and definitely not fit for my worship. And there is no such thing a "Christian Buddhism", those can only be Christians who don't know about absolute basics of Buddhism. -
Well, the reviews from the people in his lineage are not bad as far as I know. So obviously they don't feel "scammed". He gives a service for a price - nothing wrong with that. How many of the "initiated Taoist priests" you know run a temple and do this full-time? Do they charge for other things then? Do they have sponsors? Or, if they run a temple full-time, how do they do it and still can live? You can try to report or sue Mak Tin Si, then you will know if your defninition of "fraud" will hold water in the legal area (where I live it would not). That "fraud" is related to the price paid for a service is very unlikely though, otherwise I would have been "scammed" by "fraudulent" behaviour quite often, while not being unhappy at all with the service I paid for. I can't also not recall any fu that Mak Tin Si would charge 2k for recently. Out of curiosity I had signed up for his news letter and his regular fu are now at 50 buck and seems to have quite often a discount too. To drag in karma then is quite, uhm. Tin Yat rejects karma and talking negatively about others (who are not even present) would create karma too (same as interfereing with the karma of others, in this case Mak Tin Si and his followers). So bringing this up is a bit inconsistent from my POV.

A "sangha" that has "priests" but apparently no monks and does most likely not follow the vinaya?...Wow.

Ritualistic Magic? Whats the point?

Been there, done that... went to Asia. Agree with you. -
Would "mo pai" itself be a martial art? If one takes the origin from Mozi and that the school is named after him, then this should be the logical writing in Chinese. There been some other name(s) mentioned before about how the art itself is supposed to be called. But anyway. I doubt one would find much more on the net than what we already know.

This "mo duk pai" above is cantonese. In mandarin it would be wu de pai. хвихнР -> хвиц┤╛ should be more accurate.

Oh yes, so humble. As I said before: Enjoy the ride. None of of my problems.
-
I surely don't "miss you". Don't worry about that. You just show again and again the problems I already saw before. But it is no problem to me as I am not dealing with your cultivation (or the lack thereof) in any direct way. Enjoy the ride. And thanks for admitting that you were trolling. Especially as you claim to already have a qi ball in your dan tian but wasted your time in begging around to learn level 1 mo pai.
-
Either that or just not being naive about how humans "tick". Probably they are just not in the mood to be abducted by secret services and being cut up alive in labs by "scientists" trying to figure out how those powers work. Probably they are also not in the mood to be responsible for psychos chasing them and their wisdom with the goal of hurting and killing others for power, fame and money with those powers. 2 sides of the same coin.

Why don't you just pay 300 bucks and learn it from one of the *cough* "official" *cough* teachers? Otherweise your mumblings don't make much sense and I have the feeling you had problems to grasp the meaning of what you quoted. I.e. Mo pai *is* a dead END. Not "the lineage is dead". Even if you would make it to level 2 or find someone to teach you level 3. You would need to do this in time when you finish the level before. As far as I am aware of there are NO fixed signs by which you can determine yourself when you finished a level. Only a person with much more cultivation than yourself can "see" into yout body and tell where you stand. Aside of that I am not aware of any person in the lineage of John Chang who would be anywhere near his level. Something to think about. I prefer to follow other more or less healthier lineages these days (also because I got actually INITIATED into them). From what is commonly called "energetic work" (another WRONG labeling), KUJI-IN - and the practices where this actually CAME FROM- are very good too. But one will be TESTED and the bad apples will meet a bad end. And subsequencely stop the practice. End of my RANT for now.

In the light of your recent mumblings (using caps amounts to shouting and the content is not much better), it should be understandable that I prefer to not reply to your PMs anymore. Aside of the problem of who one teaches, I made a promise to use any knowledge on Mo Pai that I received from a certain person only for my personal use. Also: Mo Pai is since some longer time closed for "Westerners" and people who claim to still be able to teach officially are...*cough* You are immature and imbalanced and Mo Pai is a dead end - simple as that.

Why I am Diligent in curbing my Lust and Sexual Desires
bakeneko replied to tulku's topic in General Discussion
If he keeps up the words (can one call it a promise?), he wrote in this post http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?/topic/23438-how-to-transform-prison-planet-earth-into-immaterial-world-of-neither-perception-nor-non-perception/page__view__findpost__p__336760 he would be required by himself to stfu after the date he set for doomsday - or at least next year. -
Is the West more accepting of Death than the East?
bakeneko replied to tulku's topic in General Discussion
This is one of the funniest post you made so far. "Westerners" (bad bad generalisation) are for the most part already scared shitless about becoming old, not to mention about dying. You mix up stuff as usual -
Okay, maybe this was discussed before...but the past is the past and maybe some positions changed in the time between. What is your take on transmissions by teachers, masters or people claiming to be one of the two (or both lol)? Need it? Don't need it? Think it would help? Wish me to shut up and go back into my cave and continue practice?

Here is one of the comparisons that I found once: http://people.tribe.net/sahajananda/blog/7...10-14dd8a45cd06 I don't really care about the "Tibetaness" of the practice, but if the above comparison is not totally fictional "no traceable connections" would not be the whole truth.
-
Without wanting to argue about this: I have seen some comparison of it with "regular Tibetan yoga" and some exercises were the same (of course I will not garantee that it was correct, because I am not a Tibetan tantric master who knows all practices that ever existed lol). My point would be that no one can know all existing exercises and practices of a system; especially when there are many lineages. But this is just my opinion. I would say 10 to 15 minutes in my case.

1.)Dunno. I never made it to 21 so far lol 2.)No idea, as I do not do it for fitness. But definitely builds up strength... see 3. Would not compare it to Pilates as it has its roots in tibetan yoga, which has a different goal (or so I use to think). 3.)My basic (near) every day practice. Seems to: Balance the energy channels and helps to open the central channel (and keeps it open). Speeds up my meditation on the central channel. I would say the increase of strength and fitness is for a good part due to this. Good for my other practices.

Just because it was not mentioned yet: Damiana Either taken as tea (quickly prepared, just have the leafs up to 10 minutes in hot water) or as liquor (said to be more potent, but also needs longer preparation). In both cases, it needs to be taken over a period of time (for instance 2 weeks or 1 month) until benefits show up.
