Well then that's TWO desires that will hold you back . I like both money and beautiful women, don't get me wrong, but wanting while not needing is different than the personal desires you describe. To want something is to feel unbalanced without it and wishing to correct the imbalance. Naturally, what you seek isn't money or women at all, but God, the Tao, whatever you choose to call it. Currently, you are in the state of accepting your physical body, and this is exactly how to go about achieving the balance you seek. The danger is if you get stuck in the mindset that acceptance is all there is, and that there is no karma to deal with. The ego likes to rationalize that it has all it needs and therefore should not change. Rookie's last post illustrates the proper attitude towards money and it can be applied to women as well. Just to keep in mind for the future as this is something that comes after full acceptance of one's body. A few notes in no particular order: the first chakra is sex and the second is money. The stages aren't a terribly good way of breaking down karma relating to each chakra though, there is only the issues that you need to resolve and the ones you don't. When there is nothing left to resolve, the chakra works properly and there are no desires because the chakra is balanced. Kundalini awakening is only when all chakras are balanced and the full awakening is the cause of ascension. Increased energy flow along this meridian is common as the body loses obstructions to energy, but Kundalini awakening is a separate occurrence which is far greater and more sudden (it would need to be to suddenly change the atoms of your body to energy!). Union with Tao/God is something that is always present, but it is only when balancing the 4th chakra that you begin to FEEL God as Unconditional Love and compassion, and only when balancing the 6th and 7th chakras do you being to perceive and know God. Finally, control over yourself is all you can hope to achieve. Your environment will do what it wants, just accept what it has to offer and work with it.
  2. What happens if you die?

Buddhism, Zen and Taoism all seem to share a view that all they must focus on and explain is that which relates to our plane. I assume they do this so that they don't distract their members from their common goal of enlightenment with esoteric knowledge of the afterlife and the nature of God. I guess they figure there are enough shiny distractions along the road already Anyways, I tend to look at ancient Indian traditions for more esoteric things because their metaphysical views are fairly in line with Buddhist/Taoist/Zen ideas. Christianity has hints that they originally possessed similar knowledge thank to Jesus, but that knowledge is now only in fragments and mostly is ignored. From the Hindu perspective, after one deals with karmic issues (lessons that need to be learned that manifest as suffering) relating to this plane (the first 3 chakras) this results in enlightenment. This allows them to go on to the astral and continue their journey. When one dies in the physical plane, their spirit goes up to the astral plane as it waits for a new body (I've heard varying accounts of how long this takes, but 50-60 years seems to be an average). Then, they return and continue the back and forth until they reach enlightenment. Then they live in an astral body, die, bounce between the astral and the next higher plane (causal plane) and so it goes on until all karma is resolved in all planes.
  3. Newscientist: Our world may be a giant hologram

I subscribe to New Scientist and I think I've seen 3 covers now saying the world is a hologram...They're known for hyperbole. This article looks particularly bad though for one reason (cosmological physics ahead). The article mentions that at the boundary of a 5D universe shaped like a pringle, physics take place as they would appear to in a 4D universe (as the boundary is 4D). They are implying that this idea could be extended further and that at the boundary of a 4D pringle-universe, physics would take place as it appears to us, and so we are merely at the boundary of a 4D universe rather than just in a homogenous membrane of 3D space. The problem is, space isn't pringle-shaped (usually called a saddle-shape). Physicists have found that the universe can only be perfectly flat, or folded slightly in on itself. I believe the term to describe the concept is little omega (looks like a w). If w is 1, an object is "flat" in the 3D sense of the word. If w < 1, the universe folds in on itself and eventually makes a 4D "sphere" (hypersphere?). So the situation they describe is where w > 1. Problem is, if the universe is nearly flat, it's like trying to take a flat square of card and lay it on a sphere in such a way that it becomes the "boundary". Anyone who has seen a map of the world that is to scale where the Earth looks like a orange peel that has been flattened knows what the result is. Space may well have more than 3 spacial dimensions, but this doesn't look like the way to proving it.
  4. Celibate or not

This whole ejaculatory fixation thing is truly bizarre to me. After studying so many spiritual paths and gaining a diverse metaphysical knowledge, I would have expected to have some clue as to why certain Eastern philosophies regard ejaculation as bad. Hell, if women only do it when they FIX their emotional and physical issues, shouldn't that make ejaculation a sign that energy is flowing freely through the body? To try and halt a simple biological function seems unnatural, not to mention the idea of some hardcore, religious form of blue-balls seems painful. Could someone please explain to me this practice of "conserving one's energy"? Right now, this is just ringing a loud bell in my mind that says "I have abundance issues! I need more energy and it's always being taken from me, so while I like sex, I shouldn't let anything come out."
  5. Celibate or not

I think that's going to have to go in my sig. How concise yet profound!
  6. En*light*enment

Some people confuse a symptom with the disease. People see the accumulation of money or power and they see their own greed. They fear themselves falling into that mindset, so they say it's evil. After all, money and power are just energy, and with any energy you are able to express yourself more freely. Ultimately you end up with an amplified version of you. It's a great reward for enlightened individuals and those making great progress. Most people shy away from such things though because they know deep down that they dislike parts of themselves, and they hardly want to amplify their less uplifting characteristics. The concept of a providing universe is a ways off for them. This kind of ties in to what I was going to mention to SJ (looking back after reading this post over, that's actually an awful segway). Anyways. People seem to confuse the signpost with the road. With limited understanding of what's ahead for us, we focus on goals that may or may not be realistic but they are useful to us because they are tangible. Increase in chi power is one of the many signposts along the Way, and shows us that there is progress being made. But if you're always focusing on the same signpost the result is somewhat comical because at some point you can't do it while moving! The solution is to strive for the next signpost and the next, because with some introspection comes the obvious realization that the signpost does not provide the happiness that the road does. Think of these goals like monkey bars and you get the idea. Stretch as far as you can to grab hold of the next one, heave yourself towards it, but as soon as you're under the bar, trying only to hold on it it for dear life leaves you only a matter of time before your arms get tired and you're forced to let go. Use the momentum of motivation that your goals provided to swing you easily to the next.
  7. "Heaven"?

To say I ONLY see superstition is to say I see only dirt in a puddle of cloudy water. A few particles of sediment doesn't mean affect the existence of the water molecules in any way. They're simply in a cruder state, like the ore or a metal. But I am not blind to the fact that certain limiting beliefs such as "Jesus died for my sins, so now if I confess to a priest and say 20 Hail Marys, I am absolved of guilt" are superstition. I've done extensive study on many holy books though, from activities of the angelic beings in the Old Testament to the motivations behind Mohammed's teachings. The New Testament has always been my favourite though. Just enough magic thrown in with plenty of good lessons. It's too bad it is always seen as the sequel to the Old Testament, as if the messages of the two books are even remotely similar... And don't get my started on alchemy, I could talk for days!
  8. En*light*enment

But even ego games are simply karma, awareness being resisted by the mind. At some point, everyone gets tired of their karma, and their frustration and motivation allows them to transcend it. It's how we learn. To say the mechanism isn't working fast enough is to not fully understand the transformations that take place due to the mechanism.
  9. En*light*enment

I just wanted to point out how amusing it is that people are giving some very different explanations and yet everyone also seems to be right. Truly there are many paths that lead to the Way.

Thanks Mr. Tolle. Steal my thunder why dontcha?

Couple totally random things to add: I'm from Victoria BC, my buddy works on the same block as the Chinese Free Masons (they're in China town, but they have a couple buildings around there) and I used to live a couple blocks away so I know the area. Downtown gets pretty sketchy at night, especially around there since there's a homeless shelter and a safe-injection site both a block away. Plus China town is about 150 years old, so it's all brick buildings with dark back alleys. I can imagine a bunch of old, rich, civilized fellows meeting up at night after work might be in need of an enforcer or two. Also, not only presidents were Freemasons. So were Lenin and Trotsky.
  12. Cool forum

Hey guys, my name is Nathan. I live in Vancouver BC Canada. I'm one third guru, one third PUA and one third racecar mechanic. It's a fun combo . Anyways, this site seems pretty chill and I haven't talked metaphysics with anyone in a while and figured I'd work out that part of my brain by coming here. Hopefully I'll learn something as a result.
  13. En*light*enment

It strikes me that a few people here may have issues with universal abundance. The universe always provides as much energy as you need (and everything else: money, friends, love, attention, karma. j/k, they're all manifestations of energy! ). Trying to "get more chi" is just as hopeless as trying to get more money to achieve happiness or satisfaction. Let alone enlightenment. You get money when you either direct all your energy into making it (a tiring process any workoholic will tell you) or when you stop trying and let it come to you as you need it. Same goes for chi. The question is whether you turn away the universe's gifts because you're too focused on your money or chi to see them. The universe could toss energy at you every minute of every day (and it does), and you would simply avoid it. There's a great story I heard about a man who trekked around the world looking seeking God's divine light. He meditated in caves, spoke with shaman and fasted for months. Finally, he heard of a mountain which reached high above the clouds where God would grant you a single wish. Persistent as he was (since a mountainous journey to any wish must of course be trying), he reached the top. He threw open his arms and yelled to the heavens "God! Fill me with your Divine Light!" A voice boomed around him: "I'm always filling you, but you keep leaking!" As for my second point: I have another way of looking at enlightenment than many of you it seems, so I'll briefly describe it here. It's sort of Chinese medicine/Buddhist/Hindu. Anyways, enlightenment is when one's karma in the lower 3 chakras are resolved entirely and one can live with compassion. This could not happen before because the meridians of the body and the many smaller nadis have blockages both energetic and physical. These were thus wasting and redirecting your energy in turbulent ways away from the orderly function of the chakras. Swirling vortices of energy need momentum, they don't just spin for the heck of it! So a certain level of "flow" to the correct regions of the body must take place. I mentioned physical blockages before and if you've ever pinched a tiny piece of muscle and felt it, then you know what this is. It's a bump of sorts, as though the muscle is broken into tiny pieces when pressure is applied. Tension and inflexibility (strangely, these words mean as much in the mental sense as the physical ) block energy. This is a manifestation of karma: emotional, mental and physical issues to be resolved in the body's structure. I'll add more should anyone have questions as to what the hell I'm talking about (though you are a bright group of chaps, I notice refreshingly) but it's getting late. Oh, and in case anyone is wondering either of these two things: It's hard to find a person who is enlightened not because it's ultra-rare, but because once it's achieved, the soul moves on to resolve more subtle karma on astral and causal planes. Second, ascension is when one resolves ALL of their karma while still bound by a human body. The person then essentially becomes "pure God" (does he come in "watered down" and "sort of murky" varieties as well?) uplifting the very energy his molecules are made of with him. Think Jesus if you believe that particular event happened.
  14. Ideagasms

He hasn't even claimed enlightenment. Last time I looked at the page, his new years resolution was to achieve it. Or perhaps more obviously (though it eluded me until now), one can't claim ascension because ascension means no longer occupying your physical body.
  15. The new earth

Maybe it DOES end every year but also begins again in that same moment
  16. The era of secrets seems to be over...

See, now I'm gonna have that gnawing at the corner of my brain until I fully grasp it. Good thing my mind seems to gotten a recent boost of clarity. So far I've only got "Thoughts are things in the sense that they are manifestations of personal energy through the ego". But that seems...incomplete. Grrr!
  17. "Heaven"?

I was expecting disagreement so I figured I would phrase my statement ambivalently. Turns out I really should have just said "religion is spirituality mixed with superstition, and the latter has no use".
  18. "Heaven"?

Buddhism has a big fat guy whose belly you rub for good luck, but I think we all know the idea of the Buddha has more to it than a metaphor for a wishing well. I wonder if "Religious Taoism" falls under the same line of thinking as belly-rubbing of deities.
  19. The new earth

And yet isn't that an interesting correlation? Who knows what's going to happen. I prefer to enjoy my present than dream (or fear) my future.
  20. I was thinking during this whole thread about something that happened to me not too long ago. I found myself in a sort of impulsive two day fast. After the two days, I went out for all you can eat sushi, figuring I'd be starved. I ended up being unable to eat any chicken or beef products. The cooking of the meat and flavouring it with teriyaki, I couldn't make me overcome to repulsion I had to the meat. I thought I was sick at the time, but as soon as salmon sashimi hit the table, I downed it with ease. Normally I have a slight aversion to the texture over time, but not then. It only dawned on me later that the things I wanted to eat were fish (I understand people don't want to kill their food, but the benefits of eating oily fish especially are huge!), brown rice, vegetables and seaweed. Somehow my fast had me eating what was healthiest for me (at that moment) only. Interesting stuff. As far as red meats, another piece of advice would be to try other types of red meat like bison. It's got a much higher omega 3 content than beef and a much better omega 3 to omega 6 balance which are key. Less traditional meats are interesting, feel lighter and more wholesome, and the farmers who are already occupying a slightly more expensive niche have no problem raising their animals naturally (grazing, no antibiotics, no hormones).
  21. Ideagasms

I think it's something like 50% of men have ED problems at some point in their lives (ie. when they are 40+). As far as squirting, something occurred to me as to why you wouldn't have noticed where it was coming from specifically. When a girl has just learned she CAN squirt but isn't forcing it, the muscles aren't developed enough, so it's kind of just a delocalized gush. It just seems like she's really really wet. It's only as the muscles build up that the orgasms get more intense and squirting is a full on stream of liquid. Also, at this point, you often just get pushed out of the girl as the contraction is so strong. If you can stay in during her orgasm, and there's no stream, then she's still got plenty of exciting new experiences ahead.
  22. Ideagasms

Haha. That is pretty damn funny. @Sean: My observations are yours to learn from and yours to ignore. Whether I'm right or not isn't an issue worth debating. I was simply curious whether I could give some insight. I do apologize for my accusatory psycho-analysis though. As Smile said it wasn't necessary, just a bad habit I've yet to kick.
  23. Ideagasms

I never meant to say your post reflects badly on your character. I only noticed that there were many negative emotions tied up in your memory of Stephane which is a sign of unresolved issues. Just food for thought, not accusations On another note, I do stick by the wisdom he's written, though I certainly don't agree with everything he's said. Just because the teacher has gone batty, doesn't mean the lesson should be dismissed, just taken with a grain of salt as always.
  24. Ideagasms

I hate to say this, given that everything you've said could well be true, but the way you come across when talking about Stephane is the same way almost all ex-iGers do, and it only makes you look bad. To say he has a problem and that he requires help is one thing, but to hate him and bash him like you do only accentuates your own unresolved guilt and shame for being duped by him. Or perhaps with all his crazy, he still managed to push a button and expose something deeper? He wasn't without wisdom, and a man with wisdom and an ego can be more hurtful than anything else.
  25. Unbelivable! Colloidal silver may be no more

It's amazing how commonly this is done, yet no one knows when they've done it. Kudos to your intuition. On another note, now that I know about colloidal silver, I'm gonna have to try it out. Maybe I'll see if I can make high quality stuff at home, since it's gonna be disappearing. Meso Silver is kind of a nice hint as to their method.
