I saw the interview and read it, I also went to a forum where he was supposed to answer questions but failed to answer a single one while continuously going off topic to advertise his book. He claims to be a former black ops assassin who had a chip implanted in his brain and has a superhuman arm. If you believe that, well, then talking to you would be fruitless .

Why I am not surprised you ignored this post, hah.

Sweet! Now I can become a Tibetan Master from the safety of my own home for four simple payments of $19.99!!!
-
So you where already living on your own at 13-14 and taking trips to Tibet to get transmissions? Right.

Interesting post as usual, drew. It's too bad these kind of topics usually don't make it very far but staring at goats or throwing huge chi balls do .
-
Christ almighty... people will believe anything these days.

Nobody knows what happens, enjoy your life and forget about it.

You where advertising. I didn't say I knew everything, I said I wasn't interested in learning anything from you. Real mature with your little comment there, vag (pun intended).
-
Oh god.

Just because people in our government train in something does not legitimize it, even in the military there is a lot of useless training. I did not say it was not real, I said you never waste an opportunity to advertise your services. People in elite units worldwide still kill people by the tried and trusted method of using a firearm, not staring. I have no interest in learning anything you have to share so no, you will not be receiving a visit from me.

Never waste an opportunity to advertise, eh Yeah I'm sure tons of indos are just killing goats with their super stare. There is a reason US Special Forces dropped the project.

Running with weighted vests/ankle weights is terrible for your joints but if it makes you feel like Bruce Lee it's worth it I guess? -
There is a very noticeable difference in the quality of my meditation when I abstain and when I don't.

I finally have some money to spare and I am looking for a good Ho Shou Wu. I know that the dragonherbs site is supposed to have the good stuff but a lot of their herbs cost a lot and at the doses they recommend they won't last you long either.
-
Cool. I ordered two of the Yang Chen brand Shou Wu Chi from Amazon at $7 each. I'm young so i'm not going to take the full dose and see how that works out for me as I have some minor hair loss (which is strange since my father at 47 has a full head of hair). I'll keep this thread updated with my experiences.

I can't drive to Boston right now (no license) so should I just order some Shou Wu Chi online? http://www.asiachi.com/shouwuchi.html How long does that bottle last? What is the general dosage? Thanks.

Zhan Zhuang isn't the name of a single posture, it's just the umbrella term for series of them, the same goes for wuji.
-
For what it's worth I'm not holding the wuji posture but embracing the tree.
-
I'm noticing improvement pretty quickly... Standing for 5 minutes doesn't bother me at all anymore. I wonder if I should take advantage of this since I'm young to be a little more liberal with my time increases.

Does daily Chi Kung practice reduce the need for physical exercise?

You don't have to live in the gym to get results. -
I was reading through the thread yesterday and decided to try it - as my main practice is lightly gazing at the LTT anyways. One of the differences in my practice and his is that I didn't really mind if I could hear my breath or not, and that made a huge difference in my practice. Once I began tuning into my breathing to make sure it was inaudible, I focused on the LTT and I could tell exactly what JJ was talking about, I could feel the LTT rolling the opposite way. I gently rolled it back as in the backwards flowing method and I had an experience that I'm still trying to process. First I felt very small and I think my consciousness shifted down to my LTT whereas it's normally in my head. Then I felt very big, bigger than the room I was in. At this point I freaked out and the experience ended, but once I recollected myself I began again and the experience repeated itself. So yeah, I thought I'd make a new thread for this and anybody else who might be practicing his method.

Nice, we have our own thread! What would be the recommended progression for someone beginning zhang zhuang? 5 minutes the first week, 10 the next, etc?
-
I disagree. I have reason to believe that JJ Semples method is indeed effective; whether or not it's the SoTGF is up to debate but he is definitely not "full of shit."
-
lol, I doubt there is anything to worry about, it's not like it's easy to stand for 5 hours a day.
-
Well I tried the embracing the tree posture and I held it for 5 minutes, although I'm sure I could do more. Still, I can see why it'd become challenging The heat buildup is incredible, this will become useful as it's getting cold out.
