I've ordered both Kelp (Iodine) and Chlorella (powder form), anything else?

Hey, A few of you may recognize my screen name although I haven't been active on here for some time. I am finally financially stable enough to travel and have enough "free" income to invest in spiritual pursuits and trips of the sorts and am very excited at the possibilities. Just as I was thinking of all of this, however, it hit me; could Taiwan be a better place to visit to truly learn Taoism instead of China? If I understand correctly more than a few masters fled to Taiwan after Mao took over. I really have no idea if my thoughts have any basis as I have never seen Taiwan even mentioned on this forum. There is always Wang Liping, however, teaching in China which is very tempting... any input? Thanks

The Secret of Youth: Da Mo's Muscle/Tendon Changing and Marrow/Brain Washing Classics http://www.amazon.com/Qigong-Secret-Youth-...s/dp/1886969841 has anyone here read this book and is it worth purchasing?

after watching matt furey's chuang shan de gong fu (which is not worth the money, mind you) the guy recommends eating a lot of lamb and he says deer testicles are good for your sexual health. despite the fact i'm only 18 i am positive i have low testosterone and or a "kidney deficiency." in an older topic someone listed some of the symptoms and i have nearly all of them. terrible memory, back pain (which has gone away due to exercise), breast tissue and balding among other things. the western remedies are pretty much either viagra or testosterone, which you will have to take for the rest of your life. apparently a new zealand company is selling deer testicles under the name of "Deer Pizzle." it's pretty cheap at either $28 a bottle or $23 for 60 pills (depending on the brand). does anyone have any experience with this? i can't visit a western doctor yet due to the fact i currently do not have insurance but i have virtually no libido or desire for anything, no matter what i do. keep in mind i am in great physical shape, running an average of 5-6 miles a week and weights 3x a week. i've tried everything from jelqing, retention, hanging weights, nothing works. the websites for the deer pizzle are http://www.greenhealth.co.nz/deerpizzle.htm http://www.thehealthstore.co.nz/nobots_pro...amp;language=en

The best method of Jing retention that I have found
mantis replied to Ten Thousand Methods's topic in General Discussion
I haven't read the book, but could you explain further why you believe the method is the best? What effects have you noticed from the practice? -
Is there a website that posts updates on seminars or retreats you can go to to become a student of Wang Liping? I know of the Lao Zi Academy but that website is everywhere all at once and kind of hard to navigate and understand, a lot of the links end up taking you to chinese text as well, which I cannot read. I believe there are a few students of his on this forum, where would be the best place to start until you can meet Wang Liping? I'm assuming you should devote as much effort as you can to sitting in full lotus for as long as possible, since that seems to be what most people focus on when they write a review about their experiences. What tends to be the average cost of a seminar/retreat? I'm young and trying to save as much as possible for my future, so this is somewhat important. Thanks

I didn't notice that Hindu guy was on a zafu - I guess that's why his full lotus looks so much better than me.

Not true. A coworker has been in the states for over 30 years and he can still do a squat that I cannot. He smokes, doesn't exercise, you get the drift.
-
I can sit in full lotus but one of my knees comes up off of the floor, I am trying to mimic Wang Liping (I believe he folds his left foot first, then his right, but I imagine switching them often is best) but one of my knees comes up off of the floor, which isn't a good thing. I keep trying to figure out why asians have such an easier time with this posture than we do and can do the "asian squat" whereas us westerners cannot (squat completely down until your butt is on your calves and maintain a completely upright posture, heels on the ground). I have larger than average thighs/buns and such from years of weightlifting which I imagine only complicate things even further.

I'll read through those threads and yeah, that's why I made this thread I want to learn as much as possible on my own before dropping coin on something I could have been practicing beforehand. Can you sit in full lotus? If so, what stretches did you do to develop it? Thanks. That's pretty cool that you can have a 1 on 1 with Wang Liping although I doubt I'd have anything of substance to ask him, so a Kathy Li retreat seems the way to go (can't take off that much time to visit China). It seems the full lotus is a pretty large focal point for people wishing to go down this road, I'm young and pretty flexible and my full lotus looks terrible. I'm pretty sure for whatever reason asians have a much easier time with it, though, as I have a Vietnamese coworker who is close to 50 and does it with no problem (no, he's not a health freak, doesn't stretch, smokes, etc.) No excuses.

Hey, Internet Explorer does not work on my computer and that page does not open in Firefox.

I ordered those pills and I received them today and took 5 pills, is that sufficient? If you take the 15 pills a day dosage the 10 boxes only last 2.5 months or so.

Very interesting thread, where can I get some of this puerh?
-
Huh? Dragons? Where can you learn more about them, and how do you develop a "trained eye" ?
-
Anyone know anything about this guy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grigori_Rasputin

I was looking forward to your post. Thanks.

Dude, be extremely careful if you're going to strap weights to your balls. Think this through.
-
So this device goes around your balls and sends small electric pulses through them? Shit, sounds dangerous to me.

Conspiracy theories. This is my last post in this thread.

What a bunch of slack-jawed pussies we have on here. It's fine if you don't agree with the armed services, but to come out and say that all of our troops are brainwashed, slaves of foreign policy, etc. and all this nonsense is just unacceptable. If it wasn't for the military we'd be speaking German now, if you'd even be alive at all.

Why? Plenty of "spiritual" leaders have been warriors beforehand.
