Gift of Tao and Stillness movement meditation
JohnC replied to Jedi777's topic in Systems and Teachers of
I've had experiences of wu wei, deep long term body injury healing(lower hip and atlas vertebra healing... I've had it that way for so long I just assumed that was how it would be forever...), alignment with my path in life(life just seems to flow), an over abundance of energy regardless of sleep, it will highlight your talents and any spiritual ones if you have them (I've had glimmers of the future, knowing what people will say before they say it, knowing things are going to turn out awesome, kind of stuff), and oh yea I can emit chi, and have started doing healings. Over all it's pretty fucking awesome if you ask me. I usually practice gift of the tao through the day at different times, and from 9-11 every night I'll do 30 minutes of zhan zhuang, 30 minutes gift of the tao, and 1 hour of stillness movement. Preferably 2 hours of stillness movement daily, 1 hour in the morning 1 hour at night. Coupled with attention on your dantien through the day, although that isn't comparable to practicing stillness movement for a period of time, either sitting or standing.(In my opinion) Standing seems to works my hips, legs, and whole body, while sitting seems to take me deep. Dorian, I gotta say while I don't follow the same path as you, I can respect someone who seems to have done their homework. Your posts are interesting and informative, when not wasting your time slamming someone else or trashing something. John

From what I understand Hunyuan requires you to develop your dantien first? I imagine so since it came from Hu Yao Zhen, and his crowning practice is stillness movement nei gong, which busts ass at developing the lower dantien. One of the pieces I took back from the last seminar with lomax is that with a developed dantien, you can create your own qigong spontaneously, drawing in yin and yang qi. For me it occurs to me to do movements, so I do, and the energy gets thick. Ironically yin qi being hot, and yang qi being cold. All that said though, Flying phoenix qigong is an amazing system that develops and heals in a way I've never seen in anything else. I practiced it for about a year, and had amazing experiences. Gave it up for stillness movement though. John

Shrooms, lsd, ayahuasca experience. I think they are fantastic facilitators to your growth and the letting go of things, and clearing emotional trauma/ego/etc. But not to be used as a crutch. You should be practicing, then use this stuff sparingly for clarity/insight/etc. John

Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong
JohnC replied to Ya Mu's topic in Group Studies
I have to report in, this weekend I was facilitating a workshop for authenticworld on the east coast. Something I noticed very strongly though was a sense of wu wei/everything happening perfectly and in the right way, in where I was at in the seminar and how things were working out. I've never experienced this before this strongly, but it was like everything was happening perfectly, not in the way I'd like(as if I could know the alignment of perfection..), but just in general. Like I may have wanted things a certain way, but later learned that it was much better what had happened. I attribute this to Stillness movement. Lastly did a taoist healing on someone who had a bunch of sick qi in their thyroid area. As I moved up to the throat area, I could feel it as like this big black mass on their body. Just interesting to notice. John -
No dude, no love spell, your just an obsessed kid hounding after the woman that is hard to get. Advice is practice, love your life, do things you enjoy, with or without anyone else. From there any addition is bonus(women or friends).

Anyone have any good exercises for increasing blood circulation to the hands?
JohnC replied to Audiohealing's topic in General Discussion
I'm serious though. Chun yi lin speaks on clapping hard to increase circulation in the hands and chi circulation. -

Like many have said, and I agree with, what some people claim as 3 hours may not be a serious dedication to 3 hours, of holding the posture for the entire length of time. I think it comes down to real hard work, dedication and a good teacher. Especially for the higher levels, which knowledge of is so rare, with many dabbling in the beginning stages and treating them as if they are later stages. John

Why do we perceive a silent mind as a threat during meditation?
JohnC replied to Audiohealing's topic in General Discussion
The only way around is through. So no tips to overcome, other than don't get snagged. By emotion, by ideas, by attachment. Try and notice as best you can as soon as something starts to come up and you believe it. And let it go. John -
Had an amazing time training this last weekend, and it was cool meeting up with you fellows. Always amazing to me how simple this practice is, how effective, and how understanding comes with practice. John

How many people practice Taoism to gain supernatural powers?
JohnC replied to idiot_stimpy's topic in Daoist Discussion
Bump to that. Only 'supernatural' because we have forgotten and our frame of context is small. -
Why are there fewer women than men in search of Enlightenment and Freedom from Samsara?
JohnC replied to SunLover's topic in General Discussion
Sure man. Nothing wrong with sleeping around. And that is a part of yourself that you reject, and actually has nothing to do with her. How old are you? It is wildly apparent who is either young, or is a virgin on some of these boards. With little life experience it seems. It is also funny to me that for spiritual seekers, how close minded some of the following people can be. As if they don't practice much at all, but then act and think like they are better than others. Better than the "normals" or whatever. And it's that same 'better than' that keeps you separate. And they are trying to figure it out, do tons of rocket science and learning, but they have yet to sit the fuck down and practice. And the reason I find that funny, is that the more I practice the more I notice I get along with everyone, the more I can connect with everyone, the more I'm willing to be wrong and question my ideas about the world and go find out. From there the more happy in general I am in life. I'm done with this thread... shesh. John -

JohnC replied to SunLover's topic in General Discussion
You look at what about it repulses you, which tends to be something about yourself that you don't accept that you see in her. And if you follow the rabbit hole down, you'll find that as you love yourself more, you'll love everyone in turn. Yes, actually that is what I've seen. That the woman who is emotionally abused by her father, is looking for a man to emotionally abuse her. And she emotionally abuses him in kind. And that for the cycle to break someone has to grow. I believe that you attract into your life those that you are like. Personally I know tons of women on the spiritual path... John -
Your recommended techniques and methods for controlling sexual urges?
JohnC replied to yondaime109's topic in General Discussion
Will power is the way. Learn to flow with the energy rather than fight it. Feel it and enjoy it. Setting up accountability helps as well. I've seen that usually when people don't enjoy sexual energy moving in them, it is because blockages in them in some way. Or shame/bullshit ideas about sexuality taught to them from wherever, trying to assert it is bad, shouldn't be used or needs to be boxed somehow. Enjoy your sexuality. reddit.com/nofap John -
Always dig your posts monki of the snow.

I absolutely think we do. Just because someone disagree's or has inane debates, I don't think means we should kick them out. If they do become abusive/trolling for the sake of grief, I think they should be removed. But that kicking them out just perpetuates the 'you don't do things I like? I'm disconnecting from you' bullshit. But I do think it is our responsibility to take responsibility for ourselves and not interact with them when they are being that way. Aka, someone disagree's, noted, and back to the topic at hand. Consider the more you need others to believe your point of view, the less you believe it. Aka the more you need others to validate you, the more you are unstable in the belief and need others to back you up. Takes two to tango. Don't feed the fucking trolls. BACK TO REIKI. John

Damn this thread has degenerated. Mpg, so you shared your opinion. It's cool you have the goals you do, and believe in the practices you do, not everyone will though. Some people think nei gong is bullshit, and reiki is the best. No amount of science/youtubes/whatever will convince either side, any more than they want to believe it. And fuck man, if it leads to people feeling better about themselves, is that so bad? Seth, so you engaged mpg, someone who seems convinced of their ideas, in a debate. Hows that going for you? -- Personally, the more I do research in science, the more I think that people will use anything to back up what they already believe and think. Under the guise of 'science, observation, whatever'. Point is, do what your drawn to and fuck the rest. John
