That sounds overly complicated to me.. Thats his viewpoint, and maybe a rationalization for why he likes things complicated. What I've found though is if someone can't say something simply, they still don't understand it.(while being a rationalization for why I like things simple...) Likewise the simplest practices are the most powerful, ie stillness movement, zhanzhuang, etc. John

If you're spirituality is not rational, how do you keep from getting scammed?

Rhinoplasty was developed in ancient India, and much of what we still do today is from what they developed then. And cited as so btw I think... -
Why.... are you guys such a bunch of buttheads? Someone says, 'check out this qigong, what do you think?" and people jump all over them and attack like crazy if it doesn't fit how they think about things. So they said something you don't agree with... move on. If this qigong is fake or whatever, is it so hard to respond that that is your opinion and leave the thread? For a bunch of people dedicated to cultivation, compassion, wisdom, and the path, a lot of you guys sure are reactive, pushy and immature. Of course they are going to talk up their qigong... and who are you to judge if it can or can't do what they purport. Damn. John

Major bump to that. Great post, and thanks for contributing and being on this board Kempo.

Apparently money is a lot of things to a lot of people. I'd say that it is a measurement unit for value. Rather than trading chickens, you now trade money. You generate money for value given(work, services or products) and you give money for the same thing. That's it. Anything beyond that is your bias and over-complication in my opinion. opinion: I think it's funny how quickly people focus on the 'swindlers' and the people that steal or cheat others. When they are forgetting the other 98% of people who work hard and provide quality services. Then how much thought, time and effort is put into trying to avoid being burnt. When it happens. Forgive them, and move on. Focus on what you do, what you want, and how your building it. What others do is out of your control. Keep your eye on what is in your control. John

When a relationship is positively intentioned it can be extremely healing, but this is if both people know themselves and you frame the relationship right. Or at least both are loving and positively intentioned. Because in the other person vulnerably bringing their perspective to you, it challenges your ideas and beliefs, both about yourself and the world. And likewise yours to them. Clearest example I know would be someone thinks they are unattractive, but they gave it a shot in connecting with the other person, and the person was very attracted to the other. Just a simple one, but they happen all through the relationship. Then, as you grow together you will get to know each others triggers very intimately. This is where your practice gets a massive jump, as you get to practice as they yell at you, or you get triggered on the spot. Can you love, even though you are hurt. Can you be vulnerable even when they are raging/crying/dominating/etc kind of stuff. In this way a relationship can be a spiritual practice. John

So I've been practicing SM an hour to 2 hours a day. Lots of buzzing and warmth in the lower dantien area. I'm finding though it isn't good to practice before bed, at least for me, because I end up having tons of energy. Going to sleep becomes really challenging. Girlfriend isn't digging that I've also noticed that it seems like I've been steered more towards things that I love and enjoy. Like I've been working on getting some seminars together for some friends, and finding I love it. After practicing SM, I'll have so many ideas, I've got to write them all down. Quick question for Michael, Is this just a phase or do you generally recommend not to practice before bed? John -

I'd love to get in on a distance class. John -
See the debate is fine, as long as people are willing to actually look at their beliefs and ideas, examine them, and if found lacking change them. Which is the real purpose of debate. This takes a certain amount of humility and vulnerability in accepting that you may be wrong(as if that matters) but more a focus on accuracy and living the best way vs being right. Not, at all, to present your ideas looking for validation, or agreement. Or speaking them to get others to believe in them or do things your way. When that happens your just masturbating with others about how you all are right, and all others aren't or whatever. Because as soon as it's about being right, the debate is worthless and more about your ego and feeling good about yourself. The point being, the more secure you are in your beliefs and ideas about the world, the less you need others to agree with you, or see things in your way. Likewise the less secure, the more you need others to validate you, in agreeing with you. Usually I see this as people getting agitated because it brings up in them that they may be wrong. John

Wasn't this the guy that ripped off more-pie-guy? And wait a minute... he's selling the pdf for 50$? I wonder where he got it.... John

That article has a ridiculous amount of spin and assumptions. SEX IS BAD, TANTRA IS A CULT, HATHA IS FROM TANTRA SO IT MUST BE A CULT, CULTS ARE BAD. Then he backs it up with examples of other 'gurus' that are bad. I imagine we should be appalled. I'm appalled that nytimes allowed this hack to write. John

Giving this a shot today, for the next week.

END THREAD.

Nope. Not a pot shot, just you trying to make something about you again. I disregarded the rest of your message as it seemed to pertain to that and berating me/validating yourself. John

I'm going to check that book out. Sounds great actually. -
Answer you are looking for: You have super powers and so much energy stored up this happens with you. It is unique to you and you alone, and you have purpose in life to save all of mankind. It is due to the superpower genes you inherited from your mom. The unique x and y that causes electro static energy generation are yours, and yours alone. Your latent electroforce powers are starting to awaken and this is a by product. Focus yourself, and do not mind this minor inconvenience. With proper training you will soon be able to harness the power of electricity to your will. Remember, With great power, comes great responsibility. Use it well. ----- Answer that doesn't feed your ego: You walk and move like your mom, making more static electricity with your clothes. Correlation, but not necessarily the cause. Ask Witch(I think it was witch... might be somebody else) about self delusion and selective perception. You only notice when street lights go out around you... but you pass by tons that don't go out around you. And there are hundreds of people lights go out around, because it actually has nothing to do with you. Just a timing sensor in the light. It is more just ego fixation. Same with florescent bulbs. Sorry man, your a unique and special snowflake, just like everybody else. John

No... because why would I. -
I have to bump to all this. I've been practicing dvd 1 daily every morning for the past 2 months, and I've been feeling more happy, more energy and generally better overall. I try to do all the practices for 10 minutes each, but time depending sometimes I'll just do 3-5 minutes, and it still has an impact. I've had a lower back on my right side issue and trouble with my right shoulder and I can feel it slowly healing, with increased flexibility and no pain. Other effects have included having an increased libido, more overall happiness, faster recovery time from working out and exercise and when I'm really charged up it does seem as if the energy jumps off me to heal someone else (like my girlfriend or a close friend). Thank you Sifu Terry for bringing this, and contributing so much to this thread. This truly is an amazing practice. I would love to hear about the higher level practices. Is everything you've provided in your catalog only level 1? Thanks, John
