Weird problem with URL's in messages sent from forums
sean replied to Clarity's topic in Forum and Tech Support
hmmm ... and no other site redirects for you? only this forum? sean -
by any chance did you click an "unsubscribe" link in any of the emails your received? reason i ask, i enabled a feature on sendgrid that allows you to permantly unsubscribe from emails sent by the forum. sean

what leif said is correct, i'm using sendgrid to handle ttb email. legit service. sophos must not like sendgrid url redirects for some reason. rainbowvein, i've noticed wonky emails as well. i just tweaked some settings. hopefully they show up as usual again. sean -

How does one find one's personal practice forum now?
sean replied to 三江源's topic in Forum and Tech Support
i see, one of the issues is the speed of getting to your own forum? another hack could be to copy/paste the link to your ppf into your profile as your "website". then you can click the dropdown on your name in top right > profile > click your website link. fair enough. problem was that many (most?) of those forums displayed on the homepage were inactive. sean -
How does one find one's personal practice forum now?
sean replied to 三江源's topic in Forum and Tech Support
they are maintained in alphabetical order now: http://thetaobums.com/forum/15-personal-practice-discussion/ i can't see how anyone would prefer the old way, which was a giant junk drawer. sean -
I signed up for Bruce Frantzis' "Bagua Mastery Program" and received my first module last week. Pretty high quality production. I have absolutely zero experience with bagua or TCMA in general so I can't compare it to anything intelligently, but I'm liking the presentation and more importantly I think I may be getting hooked on bagua in general. I've found some really nice videos on Youtube that have blown me away: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqiQozw27a0 Currently I am starting with baby steps, almost literally, Bruce is having me practice just straight line "mud walking", very slowly. I'm having fun playing with the weight distribution while walking like this. Learning how to walk, I love it. And since I have incredible ADHD and like to overdo everything I get into, so I also signed up for GaoBagua home study program. Very timely, the 5th group literally just began on Sunday. If you didn't have the cash to shell out for big BKF's program, but wanted to get into Bagua and don't have a good teacher nearby, check it out. You might still be able to slip into the 5th group. It's only $15 a month, appears very structured, and you get to upload videos of yourself every week or so and get feedback from the teacher. If you're interested, join EmptyFlower.net forums and pm yusen about the "5th cohort bagua training". Any other members into Bagua here? Best, Sean

srry for backlogged email explosion, the mail queued up while the system was down and once i got it back up it went through the whole queue. having trouble figuring out this login/logout cookie issue because i can't reproduce it. gatito, do you mind sharing what browser are you using and how are you deleting cookies? thanks, sean
-
thanks! i'm just really glad and relieved that (hopefully) things have stabilized again. admittedly, though, costs are higher now, yes. i dedicated a vps for this forum alone, about $50/month. if anyone has a hole in their pocket i added a one-time $3 donation option, along with the other monthly subscription options. (or you can paypal me directly as [email protected].) sean

personal practice forums were getting a little unwieldy. i tweaked it so that all personal practice forums are now in alphabetical order and only forums with new unread posts will be visible on the home page. (thanks for suggestion sereneblue,) sean

Who do you ask for a personal practice forum?

more_pie_guy, i just set you up with a ppd. viator, i fixed the issue, you are now a moderator of your own pdd. sean -
i believe we fixed this. it appears the issue was with the remote ad server of all things, so the forum itself was not breached at all. thank you for everyone that donated. total costs for the security dude was just shy of $100 and i recouped about half that in donations. i appreciate that. Tibetan_Ice, thanks for alerting me to this. sean
-
meh. this one is out of my league. hiring a $$ security professional that specializes in malware removal. i normally don't ask this, but if anyone is feeling generous and wants to send me even $1 or two to help defray cost, the paypal address is [email protected] sorry for the inconvenience. best, sean

damn. ok. investigating.
-
highly unlikely this is coming from the forum. sounds like your computer is infected. what av software are you running on your computer? please take a screenshot next time. sean
-
i'm upgrading the forum software here. *fingers crossed* this will probably lead to general wonkiness. also, all my theme customizations (e.g., the header graphic) will be lost until i add them in again. sean
