Any ideas on how to increase user participation? I have a gigantic TTB to do list that, about twice a year I get all fired up and tackle a chunk of. Some of my latest ideas require programming I don't have time for/can't do myself. I will probably end up throwing a grand or two at the site this year customizing it. Definitely open to suggestions.

Golden Phoenix, a warm welcome to the forum. I had hoped to make it to the seminar at the end of this month, but am too busy with my newborn baby business. I was wondering if either you or Mantra68 could answer a question ... errr, I should probably post in the Lama Dorje thread , but anyway I am here so my question is, I was thinking of buying his book, practicing the meditations for a month or two and then flying out to LA for a private hour with Max. Could I receive the necessary transmission from Max in this way? Thanks, Sean

I'd start with half hour in morning, half hour in evening and add 5 minutes a week, rearranging my life however necessary until it was at least one hour in morning and one hour in evening.

TTB is starting to rank in search engines really quickly for things we discuss ... For instance, this latest topic Lama Dorje, it's less than two weeks old and it's indexed TWICE on the first page of Google if you search for "Lama Dorje". Pretty cool.

GODDAMMIT! My whole plan was to go to this and just casually learn how to shoot lightning bolts before you do and then find a clever way to show you and subtly rub it in your face all while maintaining an aloof Advaitic stance on the triviality and irrelevance of siddhis. GODDAMN YOU SEAND3NTY! You ruined my whole ego-centered elit3 nondual qigong ninja fantasy! This could be quite a meetup it sounds like. I am on the fence myself, depending on how much work I can get off my plate in the next week. If I go Lezlie will also be coming with me for shits and giggles. Best, Sean

Welcome. Quite a powerful set of books there. What did you get from Stealing the Fire from Heaven?

Welcome Shazi! I'm familiar with your posts on alt.philosophy.taoism, though I don't think I've ever posted there myself. I loved your Neiye - "Inner Cultivation" translation. Thanks for your permission to post it and good to see you here. Sean

Interesting, I went through an Ayn Rand phase as well. Read all of her work. Thank you for taking the time to explain the photos, you do seem sincere. Sean

Alright, I'm not trying to be an asshole (don't you love it when people start out statements like that?) but let me ping you, a student, directly on this. It sounds like Dorje has some interesting teachings and I kind of WANT to dig him. But what's up with those photos on his site? Down at the bottom of Lama Dorje - Pillar of Bliss book page there. Is that supposed to be Kirlian photography or what's the deal? Because it looks an awful lot like a straight up Photoshop experiment. And so then I am left with this feeling, similar to when an otherwise cool friend lies to you about something important ... and you're like DAMMIT, now I can't really trust you anymore. Any thoughts on this? Warm welcome to the board, btw, I'm Sean. Sean

I expressed skepticism about the photos on his site. The pictures of his body and hands. Even the picture of him where his eyes are glowing blue. To me they scream Photoshop. If you are going to put up fakey photos this naturally makes me skeptical about the authenticity of the person's work. Sean

LOL. Let's just save our money and go see Jeannie Zandi in Mexico in February. Or just take the plunge and register for an Adyashanti retreat.

"4 Generations" is a film short documenting my journey in southwestern China (near Tibet) to first find, then deliver a water buffalo to a poor family. The water buffalo led us to a family with an phenomenal story. Inspired and donated by author, educator, and founder of photo.net, Philip Greenspun. -_am82KhI-c

I've struggled with similar issues. I found that besides just flat out guilt, there can also be the more subtle belief that ejaculation is a loss. A useful reframe I've found is that ejaculation is a purchase. You are spending your seed, and you can do so wastefully or you can make wise investments. The latter is essentially where sex magick begins. Sex magick has a dark connotation to some, but it's simply using orgasm/ejaculation to energize your intentions. A simple example could be, "I trust that this is the right time for me to ejaculate. I offer this orgasmic energy up to the Tao. I am certain this energy will be purified and returned to me tenfold so that I may be happy and healthy in my absolute commitment to realizing Truth in this lifetime." Sean

Emotional Music & It's Application For Energy Work
sean replied to mwight's topic in General Discussion
Also vice versa. The more time I spend surrounded by music and people and action, the more I find quiet something that takes adjusting to. Either extreme can be clung to. I don't equate absence of sound with Silence. Sean -
