  1. Herbs and immunity

Lozen, could you recommend something that I could rub on sore and/or torn/sprained/bruised muscles? I think I tore my pec muscle while rolling and it's taking forever to heal. And also my knees are annoying me today as I'm back to my 3 mile a day run antics. I'm not really looking for something hot. I have the other stuff you sent me and also tiger balm. Something more to promote healing. And whatever you recommend, I would like to purchase. Thanks.
  2. My new blog...

Looking good Plato. I knew you were going to post today too. Strange, huh.
  3. Cold Shower Breakthrough

Hmmm... cold first, then hot. Interesting thought. I've heard it's even best to go back and forth a few times. I read somewhere that for treating depression people will alternate like 7 times and they swear by it. I don't think of taking the hot bath first as "sitting in filth" though because I super charge the water with positive intentions/qualities I want to absorb and it opens my pores up to having the impurities sucked out by the cold water. Something like that.
  4. Opening..

Wow. Cool question. It's those simple phrases we use all the time that can be the real stumpers when you inquire further. I take "opening" the orbit or tan tien to mean that your awareness of that area is expanding and you can pass your awareness easily through all the details and subtle textures of that area without skipping over, stirring up, grasping or averting any pain, pleasure, trauma or even bliss that arises. As a part of you "opens" deeply, be your orbit, tan tiens, spinal channel, deep center, etc. your consciousness can easily rest in the full silent bliss of that area without getting agitated or jumping around and stirring up more gunk. The gunk that gets stirred up is a huge part of the process of opening though. Actually the gunk might even be considered the only reason these areas are not open and in bliss to begin with.
  5. What's your dream job?

My dream job is making those artistic intro sequences that you see in some movies. Like all the James Bond movies have them, "Seven" had a great one that was really industrial and had like this man's hand cutting out pieces of dollar bills and making strange collages, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon had one if I remember correctly, Catch Me If You Can, both of the Spiderman movies ... It's not really a "job" though is the thing, because there is not just one person who does them or even anyone known for doing them (as far as I know). I imagine they are each done by different people that are very close to each particular film that decides to have one.
  6. pray for Cam's knee!

Dear God, please help Cam through his surgery and a rapid physical, emotional, mental and spiritual recovery and healing process afterward. Thanks buddy. You're always there for me. For us. I guess it pays being Everything like that. Love, Sean.
  7. Incorrect Link

Cut and paste error indeed. Thanks DaoWaDiddy! Always with that attention to detail. Sean.
  8. Intu-Flow

Hmmm ... I guess there has been an extension. On the 25th Scott said there are 4 more days left. So I've done some very complex calculations and I think that leaves us 2 more days to get the promotion. Still debating on whether to order another set for more family members. I got a set for dear old Dad. He did WW when he was out visiting last month and said he really enjoyed it so who knows. Wonder if Mom would dig it. Hmmm... Sean
  9. Post some of your poetry?

All the trees Have frozen stares And wide eyes Blood splashed moon Dances Enlightening fear Me Here Helplessly alive Everything Crawls Mingling Breathing Timelessly The Wolves Your memory heats their iron teeth They nip smoldering punctures Scarring my flesh I miss your fair skin Your beautiful terrible eyes Can you hear me!? Can you hear the heartbeat of hooves? Put your ear to the mud Lie next to me You are just a ghost now I love you so deeply But they will be here any minute
  10. All this man and woman stuff

Really cool post Ian. I like how you quote Bill Hicks, I'm a big fan. And I really like how you talk about making love outside of physical sex. That is a wonderful concept. Of course I disagree with the part about techniques being "male mind stuff" and poor physical woman just wanting love as I know plenty of horribly overanalytical, stuck-in-their-monkey-mind women and also very earthy, very grounded, very sensitive men, but hey, I live in the Bay Area (read: alien cocoon), where many generalizations about gender, race, religion, age, etc. breakdown in really funny ways, it's a hoot as Bill Hicks would say. I'm glad you mentioned Barry Long again. I finally remembered why his name rang a bell, I read an interview with him several years ago in "What is Enlightenment" magazine that touched me and I intended to check out his works but obviously spaced it. Could you recommend an entry point into his work? Making Love seems interesting. Lezlie and I are very passionate about this type of work, opening our relationship to radical honesty despite the growing pains involved. We've very much enjoyed working with the Hendrick's Conscious Loving and Conscious Heart and also Wendy-O-Matik (who is awesome and lives near us in Oakland) Redefining Our Relationships which is a really great book on polyamory. This Barry Long stuff seems like it's on the "next level" though.
  11. OT: software for creating a CD?

Update ... I just discovered this awesome program last night called EverNote. Really cool piece of software. It's taggable note feature is something I've been looking for everywhere for several months now. Don't know how I missed this one. I've already purchased it and not only impulsively dumped all my TreePad, Backpack and Wikka notes into it, I've also made it my central Getting Things Done implementation, replacing my previous GTDMail workflow which I came to find lacking in some important ways.
  12. an alchemical mantra

Great post Chris. I've also noticed IAM to occur mostly in my head space but it typically dissolves into just non-local space for me when done still, seated and w/ eyes closed. Yogani says that mantra will move around as you work with it. Cool find with the "sunmoonhome". Sean.
  13. dorshugla

dorshugla, really cool that you have experience across such a wide spectrum of "hard work" to "soft work". I imagine the result to be a very balanced and grounded person. Welcome to The Tao Bums, man. Sean.
  14. Intro

Hey man, I dig your name. Welcome aboard. Oregon is beautiful. I lived in Eugene in my car for a few months back in my hippy phase, mostly camping out up in the Cougar Mountains, hangin' with fellow wanderers ... Ahhh... those were the days. Sean.
  15. Inner Ecstasy

Michael, this sounds similiar to Stanislav Grof's holotropic breathing that I've experimented with. It is extremely powerful and should probably only be done under proper supervision. It induced an experience in me once where I had a two way conversation with a "being". The being's face appeared floating in the middle of my completely dark room. The being emitted light from itself that illuminated my room to the point that shadows where cast. I spoke to the being out loud and heard it's voice externally spoken, not "inside my head". It was hands down the most intense "hallucinogenic" experience I've ever had and I was on no drugs. Spyrelx, I think this is the exact distinction between Marital vs. Spiritual retention that Craig is talking about, or in my words further up, Power vs. Love. IMO it's likely that frequent (ie, more than once a week) ejaculation will cause a power drain, decreasing your performance in sports and perhaps even your competitive edge in general, eg. in business, romance, personal life, etc. But IMO if you are consistently extracting Power from your Jing and refining it into the higher centers of Love and Wisdom then IMO what happens with your actual literal semen is not so important. IOW if you want to cultivate Bliss and Lovingkindness, the long-term semen retention obsession is just not necessary, maybe even detrimental. If you want to be a great athlete, maybe it's more important. If you want both then you find a balance. Just my two cents. Sean.
  16. The Tao Of Chaos

Hagar man, thanks for digging up the information on that teacher. I enjoyed reading about him. This part really struck me freeform. This aspect that if it wasn't scary it wouldn't challenge me in any way. Whatever is behind the 333 appearance (my mind, some form of energy, an actual independent being, etc) it's manifesting in a controversial form that I can't easily put in a box, which of course my mind naturally prefers to do. Notice Marc's excellent post sharing his skepticism on the benevolence of Choronzon. This entity is quite possibly not my "friend". It may not be my "enemy" other. More like a powerful, amoral archetype that is attracting my attention. Whatever this is, it's keeping me on my toes and that's probably a good thing. Marc, I've always wanted to read TAZ, thanks for the recommendation and for your feedback on how to deal with Choronzon. Sean.
  17. Is CST the yoga of the future?

Hey, you wouldn't have a link anywhere would you? I'd like to check out that clip. Thanks, Sean
  18. OT: software for creating a CD?

A Wiki is typically a web-based collaborative document that multiple user's can edit. There are a bunch of them and most are open source but you'll need someplace to host it online. Wikka is a cool one I use. Or you can check out Backpack which is hosted for you. If you prefer a local application, check out Treepad which I wouldn't know what to do without. Also someone told me to check out BrainStorm but I haven't had a chance yet. Sean
  19. Inner Ecstasy

I just started in on the AYP Tantra lessons last night Yoda man. It's funny how sensitive I am to the way things are worded and author's tone of voice. The Chinese alchemical emphasis on the LTT seems to promote a tendency to interpret semen retention in terms of power, ie: energy loss vs. storage. Yogani's spin is more heart-centered IMO. Retention is in an organic relationship with increasing spiritual Bliss moving toward the internal orgasm of spiritual awakening. Probably a subtle distinction for some, but a much more appealing metaphor for me. I also like how he discusses the woman's need to eventually hold back orgasm as well, since as lovemaking becomes very prolonged many many orgasms are likely to occur in the woman which could add up to the pranic loss of the single male ejaculation. Really engages the woman into the same process of turning the orgasmic power inward and upward. Sean
  20. The Tao Of Chaos

Ahhh... good old Baphomet. Forgot about him somehow. I did a wonderful pencil rendition of Eliphas Levi's famous drawing back in art school. It crossed my mind that DMT is just misnaming the Chaos current and is not tapping into Choronzon at all. I haven't started building an altar to Choronzon just yet, don't worry. I'm curious to hear your take, if anything, on the repeated 333 synchronicities? I should also mention that I go through extremely synchronistic periods with the number 418 as well so maybe I am not completely doomed. Great post hagar. That is an amazing synchronicity with the Indian. Do you remember the name of the Qigong master who refers to chaos, I'm curious. Regarding my synchronicities with numbers, I am aware that it has a lot to do with intention. What makes the 333 and 418 sightings stand out for me is that they will disappear for over a year and then come back in a flood for no apparent reason. It's not like I start reading magick books and then I start seeing the numbers. I haven't read any Crowley ... well probably in almost 10 years now come to think of it. Also, the sightings seem to have the quality of being pushed into my awareness. Like where I will be completely wrapped up in a book and I will suddenly snap up and walk into the kitchen and look at my microwave to see it stopped at 3:33 and I will realize I had no purpose in getting up. It's that creepy sometimes. Anyway ... my Choronzon mystery continues. Sean.
  21. The Matrix

Race is a proven myth. It's an extremely fuzzy, social classification strategy based on superficial visual characteristics that are the result of about .01 of our genetic makeup (that can rapidly shift in response to, ie: weather). The genetic difference between two Jewish individuals is just as likely to be significantly greater than the difference between a Jew and an individual of a different race. Race-based conspiracy theories are the acme of ignorant paranoia. If a maniacal Jewish conspiracy is destroying the world then they are doing so with the help of a lot of a whole lot of non-Jews. So what is the co-conspirator's problem? Have their pure genes been infected by the evil Jewish pheremones? Rational critique of individuals or groups abusing power should be based on the moral disagreements you have with their beliefs and the actions they are taking. Otherwise you are just promoting superstitions with no biological foundation. My two cents. Sean. [edit] I do want to say one last thing. I think it's entirely possible to put forward intelligent non-racist critiques of, say, decisions being made by political leaders and/or millitant radicals of Israel, or perhaps a balanced analysis of a set of values felt to be over-promoted by the American entertainment industry that has a large Jewish representation. But that is not what has occured in this thread.
  22. Conscious Death

From In Context We were quiet together; no interruptions, no doctors or hospitals. I said "It's alright, Scott. Go right along. You've lived a good life and are finished with things here. Go on and up - up into the light. We love you and let you go. It's alright." In a soft voice, with no quiver or pain or disturbance he said "All...right," and breathed slower and slower and slower till there was no movement anymore and he was gone out of his body as easily as a leaf drops from the tree in autumn, slowly twisting and falling to the ground.
  23. OT: software for creating a CD?

Sounds like you want a Wiki. You want it to run locally on a Windows machine?
