There are things that call themselves Buddhist psychology and psychotherapy - which is ok I guess - but they are not really dharma. People prescribed anti-depressants should stay on them until they are their doctor agree they should come off - so I'm not surprised at that advice. Dharma practice may make you calmer and happier - but also it might make you more stressed if that is what is needed for you to realise the true nature.

Steve, Even that is based on dividing number of deaths by number of confirmed cases - and as we know there is a majority mild to symptomless cases this is an over estimate as many people will not be confirmed or not even know they have this disease - which is why people quote 1 - 2 % of actual cases. -

Fake news: http://www.phayul.com/2020/03/17/42867/ "The widely circulated claim on social media and micro messaging platforms of the Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama giving instructions for the prevention of the COVID-19 virus has been refuted by a senior official in his office as fake news." -

Although it varies from disease to disease immunity from actually having the disease is usually either lifelong or at least long term - while vaccinations can wear off and require boosting. Herd immunity comes from people actually having the disease. -

Second the third waves are not because the immunity wears off but because there are still people in the population who haven't had the disease yet. Hopefully vaccines and treatments will be available by then. -

the purpose of the government measures - social distancing and so on - is to slow down the rate of increase in infections and flatten the overall profile to limit as far as possible the peak which threatens to overload the health services. All scenarios rely on herd immunity building up to limit further spread. Even when a vaccine comes online it will probably only be used for high risk people and front line staff. -

There's a difference between what is factually correct about the spread of the disease and what I think social policy should be. Personally I think that families who can look after their kids at home should do so - but that schools should stay open for the children of essential health care workers and so on. Are you suggesting things should just go on as normal? -

Fresh air and sunlight https://medium.com/@ra.hobday/coronavirus-and-the-sun-a-lesson-from-the-1918-influenza-pandemic-509151dc8065 "Put simply, medics found that severely ill flu patients nursed outdoors recovered better than those treated indoors. A combination of fresh air and sunlight seems to have prevented deaths among patients; and infections among medical staff.[1] There is scientific support for this. Research shows that outdoor air is a natural disinfectant. Fresh air can kill the flu virus and other harmful germs. Equally, sunlight is germicidal and there is now evidence it can kill the flu virus." -
