Nungas we are all relieved to hear you didn't breed

I think that's different - this is about the natural decline in birthrate arising from individual couples deciding to have kids or not.

Sumer: the "black-headed" vs. the "red-faced"
Apech replied to Taomeow's topic in General Discussion
Its the Enuma Elish - I looked it up. Mesopotamia is not my strong subject so can't comment too much except some similarity to Egyptian myth especially primaeval watery chaos. As to Gobekli Tepe this is much earlier and somewhat of an anomaly with its megalithic structures and stone carvings which some (like Sweatman) speculate are astronomical records of the Younger Dryas impact - this may be so or not but certainly these structures pre-date anything we know as 'civilization'. -

Is that quote in the OP from Gilgamesh? Perhaps I can mention Gobekli Tepe - some kind of link to Anatolia? Otherwise -good subject! I wait patiently for more -

I have heard -but have no idea if it is true or not - that the earths population is projected to peak at 9 billion or so and then start to decline. Increase in material properity and healthcare etc. lead to lower birth rates - as is already happening in western countries. So perhaps given time thoughts of any kind of human cull will not be the thing - although it is still possible that 'nature' will produce epidemic which will do this - I don't wish for it - I don't believe in the too many people idea either - but it may happen anyway I guess. One move I like is to get away from assessing economic success by GDP and use wellbeing instead and there must be other ways to reframe the objectives of what we do.

Since we don't always know the truth - I think there should be one category called 'Stuff'.

How about: 1. Christian truth 2. Vile heretical Devil worshippers

Maybe we should just have Daoist, General and Non-Daoist. If simplicity is the goal.

Yes you are right - I was being purist - but perhaps that's not helpful.

See my links to the etymology above - the words have the same origin. The issue being is that if you say Hinduism you exclude Buddhism etc. because of the way that word has been (ab)used.

'Indian religions' - would cover also Buddhism, Jainism, Ajivikas, Sikhism ... plus a whole host of others.

Its a stock photo with watermark - so I don't think so. But then I am no expert.

Hindu and Indian mean more or less the same thing - reference Indus (beyond the river).
