I take it you haven't participated in an election in the UK before.

Quoting Milton and sounding Shakespearian isn't really it though. I still think 55% Remain 45% Leave. But ... if I'm wrong and it goes the other way I shall watch with hope and anticipation the unfolding brave new world.

Good interview.

It made me laugh though.

I drove past a poster today which said loosely translated : "Enough, of EU domination and the Eurozone - time to leave." So Karl and Chang - you have allies in Portugal - Yes! - The PCP - the Portuguese Communist Party - ha ha ha!

I'll bet it was those damn EU regulations which forced it to close!

I think we should have an amnesty until Friday when we can then discuss the result with plenty of grief and venom - but at least we will know which way this thing is going. Until then we could discuss biscuit recipes or how to grow the best tomatoes.

I have complete distrust of the polls - which showed a 7 point lead for leave not so long ago which has suddenly evaporated - in other words the poll results are being used to manipulate the referendum result. From what I have been reliably told the use of sound statistical principles in polling finished some years ago. If they sampled enough people selected randomly face to face with a direct and un-nuanced question they would already know the result (but they tend to use phone and online polling and try to sort the responses by all kinds of criteria.)

Good read thanks. Although I am still at odds with the conclusion.

I'm clueless about betting odds _ can someone explain this to me: http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jun/20/eu-referendum-biggest-political-betting-event-in-british-history

... the song at the end is quite good.

Good points and certainly nothing to do with Brexit. The part that I agree with is that we should do more to uphold our western 'enlightenment' values. It seems that we have become almost ashamed of ourselves. Probably because of our success.

Just to balance things up we have a voice from Alaska .... ... is this convincing?

That's called opinion. I was referring to the discussion of history not his, your or my opinion. This whole debate has been conducted on the level you seem to like i.e. aggravation and not objective discussion. Whatever the outcome this is the most regrettable thing.

At last an article with some historical facts in it (by noted historian Anthony Beevor): http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/jun/20/brexit-make-britain-worlds-most-hated-nation
