  1. Bias against New Age

Its very hard to answer these questions because they are based on misconceptions about guru/deity yoga in the first place. All buddhist yidams are aspects of the non-dual emptiness/luminosity ... bringing yourself in relation to this does not open you up to various 'entities' and so on ... in the way that is suggested. Practice does bring into sharp relief kleshas because it is meant to ... but essentially they are illusory and the dharma practice has effective ways of dealing with such. That's (kind of) the whole point.

No pic and forbidden access on link ... so lets forget the picture.
  4. Bias against New Age

There are different stages in sadhana , development , completion and so on. That is all.
  5. Satire

Can't see it ... what is it?
  6. Bias against New Age

No. Its different. For a number of reasons but mostly because the yiddam is an aspect of the dharmakaya or union of emptiness and luminosity. You dissolve the deity back into the void during the practice.
  7. Further discussion

Meditation is the wrong word of course, because it means in English 'think about something'. Better words are cultivation, nurturing or waking up or something similar. There are lots of techniques for meditation ... calming, insight, energy circulation ... I use all of these when appropriate but I know they are what one Rinpoche said to me are 'toys' ... techniques for adjusting. If you sit and your mind is very scattered then you do a bit of calming (breath counting or similar) just to adjust ... then when you've done this ... in my experience you stop. You just then sit and notice (something like that). So I just have a look to see how things are ... if my energy is blocked I do MCO maybe ... if my mind is all over the place I count breaths ... then when this phase has finished I start to do whatever that thing is we are talking about ...

Good idea provide your real name and details plus proof of ID to the mod team.
  11. Kundalini Thread

Hi, I don't think that having say Ya Mu or someone of that ilk having a small section/threads devoted to Q&A about their particular system/practice is an endorsement by TBs but a response to popular demand (from a certain group of people). There's quite a bit (or there used to be) about Wang Liping ... there are current students of his and also interested people so what would be the problem with asking a suitably qualified representative to come and answer Q&As ... same for Max/Kunlun maybe and others e.g. KAP... maybe even some Buddhist groups would do it too. It would be clearly shown as separate from other discussions, would probably be time limited and would be strictly modded to remove disrespectful flaming, and deviation from the subject. We had a very good Q&A from Bruce Franzis based on member questions which I helped collate for Sean ... didn't cause any problems at all and gave a lot of value ... why not do the same for others as the basis for the teachers corner/forum. I am and always have been perplexed why people see a problem with this and why any issues it might raise cannot be addressed. I see it being introduced like this: 1. member nominate teachers they would like to know more about. 2. respectful approach to teachers asking if they would be willing to do an interview or come on line to answer direct questions ... or nominate a rep. 3. Create a thread which generates questions from TB members 4. Edit and collate questions 5. INterview teacher or create an online section for them to do it live 6. In all this make it clear that it is voluntary on the part of teachers and not an endorsement. Tell me why this wouldn't work. And why it wouldn't raise the level of debate at TBs and also make this site a goto place for info?
  12. I think it's a handy way to get your message across ... just post on Facebook and hundreds of security operatives are listening ... I'd like the NSA to say hi to my mother for me I haven't phoned her in ages.
  13. Black/Grey Orbs

Good question. The OP is not particularly Hermetic but some of the discussion has been Western system orientated ... so I'm letting it stay here for now. In any case its an oldish thread and people know where to find it.

I read it twice till I got what he really meant ... no typo I could see.
  20. He looks nice and I imagine he could help a lot of people with his therapy approach. I don't agree with his definition of wu wei but hey what do I know? Doesn't seem to me to be orthodox Taoism of any sort ... no details about the ordination that I can see. If I was still in Manchester I would go look see cos its reasonably close by (Matlock).
  21. If you are constipated then there is a risk of toxin re-absorbtion. But I imagine, I have never had to do this, but gentle abdominal breathing and MCO should work to free up blockages and help with the condition. No straining and no forcing though. Could try 'unwinding the belly' type massage. If its really extreme don't do anything wait (drink plenty water) and if necessary see a doctor.

On the ppf idea ... which I think is needed have you thought of an archive retrievable on request. Some of those accounts are ancient ... there could be a list which somehow allows an account to be reactivated.
