  1. What do you think you are explaining?
  2. ...

Well maybe but that makes it sound complicated and difficult. I think its more like when David Icke shouts 'wake up people open your eyes!' and people just sit there enjoying his talk. Its a wilful preference ... a stubborn-ness perhaps ...
  3. Did you read my last post? or do you prefer repeating the same point instead?
  4. ...

Not wanting to know the truth ... preferring to be stupid ... its easier.
  5. ...

Ignorance is either very, very deep or not deep at all. In some way I suspect all ignorance to be deliberate.
  6. The compassion of the Buddha is his motivation for teaching others to liberate them from (unnecessary) dukkha (suffering being a poor translation of this state). It arises spontaneously from his realisation of emptiness. People who are not Buddhas try to lead good lives because that's what the Buddha taught as the basis for dharma. Leading a good life means being kind to others and trying not to cause harm and so on. So you try not to cause harm, not to take what is not freely given and not to spread falsehood. This is a skilful way of living which will help support understanding and practice.
  7. You would try to help but that should not be confused with the compassion of a buddha - its just normal human activity.
  8. Which of us has perfect understanding?
  9. I'm not offended in any way. In fact the fact that this man wirathu is so unusual as he is a buddhist and yet preaches hate is a kind of testament to the fact that buddhists generally would be against this sort of thing.
  10. Human beings are so ignorant and confused that they can anything to whatever their obsessions dictate. Ok you have made that point several times now ... anything else to say?
  11. No I am saying compassion is the motivating factor for buddha activity and has nothing to do with sentimental attachment.
  12. Laser spine institute

    NSA = neuro-surgical-alignment. True.
  13. Relative bodhicitta = compassion arises from ultimate bodhicitta which is awakened mind ... it has nothing to with sentimental attachment to those around you or whether you travel to another country to study and so on.
  14. Its nothing to do with blaming anyone. What is your motivation in taking a single quote out of context?
  15. Exactly .... debate is good but bad natured name calling is not ok. Maybe people have to be a bit bigger than thinking about how they are 'hot shit' because they've read a book or two.
  16. Is Buddhism atheistic?

So what, he's a god ... he incarnates in various forms ... mostly so he can have sex though.
  17. Is Buddhism atheistic?

So what is the fundamental difference between say Zeus and Indra or Shiva ... and I don't mean attributes I mean differences in their nature as beings.
  18. Yes I agree ... it's disturbing and an odd thing that the Buddhist threads are sometimes the most bad natured. For those who have taken vajrayana vows and are bound by samaya I am posting the 14 root down falls and highlighting some of them ... just as a reminder ....
  19. Is Buddhism atheistic?

Do you know anything about western deities ... I mean in detail and the pagan religions of Europe?
  20. Well maybe but my point is made.
  21. Help translating inscription on statue

Google translate he say "Earth God tablets" ... does this make any sense?
  22. Not very Buddhists to do the name calling thing .... and against TB rules also.
  23. Newton didn't fudge an answer he produced a mathematics which worked and predicted among other things planetary orbits.
