  1. Romney Ryan = Red Ribbon?

Sorry but this is off topic ....
  2. William Blake went from being very into Swedenborg to dismissing him. I'm not saying he's right ... but you know these mystics have trouble getting along ... bit like TBs sometimes
  3. Ok, serious question here.

Not weird ... look up 'apana' in yoga. Your body responds to meditation in different ways depending on what it wants/needs to do. Don't worry ... just be interested in what is happening and carry on ....
  4. Just because SB mentioned Swedenborg.
  5. From etymological dictionary: evolution (n.) 1620s, "an opening of what was rolled up," from L. evolutionem (nom. evolutio) "unrolling (of a book)," noun of action from evolvere (see evolve). Used in various senses in medicine, mathematics, and general use, including "growth to maturity and development of an individual living thing" (1660s). Modern use in biology, of species, first attested 1832 by Scottish geologist Charles Lyell. Charles Darwin used the word only once, in the closing paragraph of "The Origin of Species" (1859), and preferred descent with modification, in part because evolution already had been used in the 18c. homunculus theory of embryological development (first proposed under this name by Bonnet, 1762), in part because it carried a sense of "progress" not found in Darwin's idea. But Victorian belief in progress prevailed (along with brevity), and Herbert Spencer and other biologists popularized evolution.
  6. That's ok sweetypie.
  7. Yes, did you call?
  8. Coconut milk

What! You mean you don't suck it, it sucks you. Amazing stuff. Must be some quantum weirdness involved I would guess.
  9. Coconut milk

I know I'm a boring bastard but is this Taoist Discussion???
  10. Marble Gardens & Fish Ponds

    Two! You're greedy.
  11. Marble Gardens & Fish Ponds

Well safer than lions I guess. Its a Chuang Tzu dream maybe
  12. I hold my hands up if I rushed to judgement ... not something I usually do ... I have nothing against Lamas having sex especially if they are not monks ... so no problem there. Slight problem if its dressed up as tantra when its really just a shag ... big problem if the woman is coerced into it. Maybe its six of one and half a dozen of the other ... but I think if it was really tantric sex aimed at higher consciousness then the women would have received energy through it and probably never complained. Anyway it is correct not to judge so I'll stop.
  13. Well its interesting to read the other sides view. But I feel we are just getting either denouncers or un-critical worshipers - which is in itself a symptoms of the situation. To look at this objectively you would have to question Rinpoche's actions .... even if they have been made more lurid in the telling.
  14. Marble Gardens & Fish Ponds

That butterfly ain't real though is it.
  15. Crazy ... yes ... wisdom ... no.
  16. Opps I meant shouldn't burn books. yes ... its a bit like Casteneda ... you can get value from things even if they are questionable ...
  17. Trouble is I loved that book. Anyway we should burn books ... its basically bad no matter what the book is.
  18. Marble Gardens & Fish Ponds

I hope you are not calling Marblehead a cult ...
  19. I recuse myself from...

Yes ... or was it most obnoxious one ?... I can't quite recall. Rook to Queens Bishop 4 (or something).
  20. I recuse myself from...

Yep. I excuse myself from recusing ... or something .... lol. I don't belong to any group which is active on here ... in fact the only way I know of Max, KAP and so on is through this site. I study Ancient Egypt and have Tibetan Buddhist affiliations ... if I think of any thing or body that I would have probs modding about I'll do as Trunk has done.
  21. Marble Gardens & Fish Ponds

Wow! Excellent. "One walks over three bodies of water to get to the chairs." I really like that!
  22. Marble Gardens & Fish Ponds

Was the house called Marble Halls? Or am I just dreaming?
  23. I think you have a point. In a lot of cases where I read about alleged sexual abuse by teachers (not just Lamas) ... I think the abused person is actually a willing participant and should admit it to themselves... although clearly it can never be an equal relationship ... there is no reason that teachers should not have sex (provided they are not monks). But according to the clip above, Sogyal Rinpoche has clearly set out to create a sort of harem for himself. If there is an implication on the practitioner to uphold samaya vows then there is a 100,000 times more expected of the Lama surely.
  24. "he didn't know the teachings very well" ... that says it all. Its a root downfall to disparage women ... so he himself is breaking samaya vows. Its disgraceful.
  25. Marble Gardens & Fish Ponds

If we started posting pics of your garden you'd get worried (note to self ... must buy a drone.)
