Yes, I think so, its often overlooked by raising energy impacts on your outer life as well as your inner condition, we discussed this a while ago but I can't remember where. I'm interested in this because I think the direction of your life changes and this is important. You step out of your comfort zone and stuff starts happening to you. Not bad in the long term but tough in the short.

With respect its a good idea to understand the process and what I have read on here has been helpful. People with the syndrome are usually advise to ease off the practice or at least change it.

Its available here: K.A.S. so I assume its ok to download - but you can buy it from amazon too. Just looking at Kundalini and Chakras from same place. .... treat it all with caution I suppose ...

Just been surfing around this subject and read Sannella (you can get it free in pdf) also found this clip on youtube - no idea who he is but its quite interesting about downward flow:

Thanks - could you explain a little more?

No I would like a graveyard ... the neighbors would be very quiet.

I think this is uniquely Buddhist because of the lack of god, godhead, spiritual essence or substratum ... other paths have other views ... at this point you are expressly forbidden to mention dependent origination... You may have to justify that opening statement ... I'm glad you said 'seem ... like' rather than 'are'. But I will let T speak for herself is she so chooses. Yes, have you done this? I think maybe you could divide the human race into two groups top-downers and bottom-uppers. I am the later BUT I know that at key stages you have to change your approach (these are the difficult times) by the end I will have done the whole cycle. yes I thought of this when I was typing before .... like you I often wondered if this was a precise number or just one of those 'so many you can't count them' big numbers. Also that is within Buddhism itself. I think we are finding out that we can't take all systems and make a new agey mush ... or if we do we are left with nothing. In my view anyone who is doing any kind of genuinely motivated spiritual work is still better than 99.9% who don't, even if I don't like or get their approach. On the other hand even some of them a fairly odious

This I can't agree with. It might be a Buddhist view of what the spiritual path is about but it cannot be described as the 'whole point'. Freedom yes/or maybe but not freedom from suffering but freedom to be whatever you have the potential to be. I like the contrast between Kundalini (et al) as evolutionary energy and Taomeow's returning. Is the the spiritual path part of human evolution and what are we to make of the onward and upward view this gives aligned to the idea of 'progress'. I have read many writers who describe spirituality in these terms (as evolutionary) but even these also seem to refer to some kind of 'golden age' in the distant past which implies that once mankind knew its spiritual nature better than it does today. I find Taomeow's view of returning very powerful but I wonder whether when we do return, maybe its not the same as when we never left home (if you see what I mean). Perhaps I am suggesting that the end or goal of both it actually the same after all i.e. when you evolve you actually do so by realizing your own nature and when you return you do so with enhanced wisdom from all that you have gone through in life. The difference is not in the endgame but just in the experience of the path and that there are many paths because there are many types of people who need to hear the message expressed in different ways. (?)

Marbles if you could see me now I would be bowing in your general direction. Te not Tao. yes of course. Long live Te in all its manifestations.

Just wanted to say - great thread! I want to comment but maybe later when I have more time. Please keep going if you have more to say (everyone).

There are people (who I don't know but just from their 'energy') - if I see them in the Supermarket I go down a different aisle - I don't reject them as such I suppose I just like to keep away. I don't know if this is very Taoist or not - and I don't know if it is just about me at the moment. I wish them well but please stay away from me! Ha! If you reject behaviors then are we saying these behaviors are not part of Tao? Hmmm still thinking about this.
-
The 'ject' bit of re-ject means (I think) 'to throw' - so to reject means to throw back ... as if you had caught some fish, some are no good to eat so you throw them back. People on the other hand are a bit different. Even though I might see it as a good thing not to reject other people - I would definitely like to reject some of their behavior. But I think from a Taoist point of view that's a no-no too. "So, Mr. Hitler you are going to plunge Europe into war and practice genocide?" "How could I reject you or your plans ... I'm a Taoist for Chrissake!" I think I need to do some more work on this one!!! Ha ha. Thanks as usual Marbles for making me think.

Anyone know much about Jacob Boehme? Particularly the seven planets? Here is a quote of his: God is eternal nothing ... I thought that was interesting ...

Thanks for the links I'll read up on them when I get a chance. I'd be interested if anyone who recalls a past life in Egypt - or anywhere else for that matter - has been able to make a precise prediction about say, the location of a lost tomb which was found because of their knowledge. As a matter of interest there was a woman Egyptologist who claimed knowledge of past lives who called herself Om Seti - she was well regarded by mainstream Egyptologists because she didn't mix her personal stuff and her science. So it is possible to hold both the infinite possibilities of mind/being and also be rigorously logical both at once. Thankfully! I've spent a lot of time studying Egypt in a way which I use the texts and so on to confirm the spiritual experiences I have had and also what I understand from others. Its been a very rewarding experience indeed.

Thanks for the link ... it looks very biblical to me and explains why I have never seen it ... I avoid the stuff but I suppose I shouldn't. I have scanned it but will read it in detail when I have time. I know the Pyramid Texts and Book of the Dead very well but can think of no giant references in those 'books'. I wasn't trying to pour cold water on your vision/experience its just that although I believe in the infinity of possibilities on all possible worlds and so on ... I like to pin everything down with verifiable data ... its a curse I suppose but I think that visions can be understood on any number of levels and ways ...

Yes there's been a lot written about possible genetic disease (possibly linked to in breeding) and Akhenaton - also I think (and I'll have to check this) that for a limited period they used to bind the heads of children in order to produce the elongation (the skull is quite flexible or has plates which are linked by flexible membranes). He saw himself as uniquely the incarnation or possibly prophet of his god the Aton (which is basically the physical sun disk). It may be that his atypical physionomy is an artistic convention used to denote his different and thus holy nature. But this is all speculation.

Vaj, I have been trying to resist commenting on this but I can't. The 'first' pyramid was the Step Pyramid of King Djoser (Zoser) built by Imhotep in 2nd Dynasty i.e. roughly 2700 BC (give or take a few decades). It was a development of the earlier mastaba tombs. Imhotep was later deified and identified with Aesclypius (sp?) by the Greeks i.e. a god of healing linked to Thoth/Ptah. Akhenaton lived near the end of the 18th Dynasty i.e around 1300 BC. He and his family are portrayed as having odd shaped heads but what he is most remembered for is the introduction of a form of monotheism into Egypt and an attempt to eradicate the traditional religion which had been practiced since time immemorial. The reason moderns love him is because they are desperate to see similarities to Judeo/Christian thought in Egypt and are somewhat frustrated by its polytheism and also magical approach to spirituality. After Akhenatons death the traditional religion was restored (by Tutankhamun and those that followed after). If he was an alien then it would I suppose provide some kind of explanation for why he acted as he did - but just being a monotheistic zealot is enough of an explanation for me. So there are 1400 years separating the pyramids and the cult of the Aton. Where did you get the giant thing from? Some gods are described as being very large but I don't recall anything about giants (as in very big men) in any texts that I have seen. ?

LT21, Have you read this book? Unwinding the Belly I am no expert but I wonder if it might help - I have practiced the exercises and they are good as far as I can tell - very beneficial for overall health and particularly digestive issues.
