  2. esangha alternative

Absolutely hopeless sounds quite good! Do you have a Lama? I think you would get more from direct teachings than a forum to be honest. I used to post on e-sangha a bit but it seemed to get a bit strict about views ...

  11. Thoth question

Hello, I've practised for a long time now using Thoth as my 'tutelary deity' for want of a better term (yiddam if you don't mind a Buddhist expression). I would say that you really can't go wrong with Thoth if you follow and build confidence in whatever is happening. Without knowing more about what is happening (and I'm not asking by the way just saying) its hard to say anything else. I could say a lot about Thoth in terms of how he was understood by the Egyptians but I don't feel that you want that. What I can say is that I'm not surprised that a move from Hathor to Thoth is disorientating. Its a bit like moving from the Sun to the Moon if you like, very different but still complementary. In terms of internal/external wobbliness you might find Anubis helpful - especially skillful at balancing energies. Cheers. A.

  19. I Ching translations

And that's kind of the problem with Science and why its assumptions are regularly overturned or remain perplexing to common sense (e.g. quantum mechanical effects). The Universe .. and indeed the I Ching may not require us to be at one with them even though we aspire to be so.

  23. I Ching translations

Thanks for the answer ... and yes I have read it and the Great Treatise (Wilhelm version) and I have always felt that at some time in my life I will immerse myself in this wonderful book ... but I am studying other things at present. I think you are wrong about its oracular nature. This is based on my use of the I Ching in practice, my intuition and the wisdom of 'as above so below' ... as with Chaos Theory the apparent infinite complexity of the universe can be understood in terms of simple mathematical relationships. I cannot explain how the coins or whatever could work ... or the donkey farting ... but I don't think you can limit the possibilities in power /nature. I'd be interested in what others think. Cheers.
