I like the way this place works and the kind of mix of threads, some share knowledge, some express opinion, some recount an interesting experience. I like the fact that it is eclectic and holds all knowledge under one roof. I like the fact that people can use humor and argument (in the broad sense) to make their point. I just thought that the OP was using humor to reinforce a request which I have read a few times elsewhere that the FU posts are perhaps merged into a single Fu thread for those who are interested. I do think Taoism teaches about tolerance and forbearance. Strange that those who quote these principles want to shut everyone else up though.

Actually gossamer is saying that Mak is spamming and trying to sell his lineage. Is this respectful or not? It seems fairly challenging to me. But I wouldn't want any restrictions. For me that is up to Mak and the people who might like to donate through his website. My problem is that I have no idea if what Mak is saying is legit or not, I am not a Taoist scholar. So could someone enlighten me - is it all worth reading? Should I take Faat, Fuk and Duck seriously??? Thanks.

I can't get to Switzerland or the US - I wonder if there are any exercises you can do for the same result. Cos it looks great and I know that the neck is always a blockage site for energy.

Thanks Karen I didn't know they did vaccinate that early.

Karen, How do you explain the millions of deaths in 1918/1919 after WWI - I'm not disputing what you say but in those days there were no vaccines and people would collapse suddenly in the street. There was no treatment then but more people died of the 'Spanish' flu than in the war itself. BTW I used to get two colds/flu a year (at least) but now its very rare.

Interesting! Thanks.

I am no expert in this kind of working but it sounds as if you might benefit from earthing, settling or grounding your energy with formless meditation (longish periods). I would also suggest that you try to find someone who is expert before going any further with this practice. It is possible to hurt yourself.

In a way it is something from the dark ages - a lot of these things were formulated in the Middle Ages with a feudal mind set. The rules of sexual misconduct are the hardest to swallow (if you'll excuse the expression ). Usually they are modernised to say 'don't do sexual harm'. But who made that rule? I agree completely with the issue of cultural baggage which comes with learning anything imported from another culture. People get confused and think they have to wear strange clothes, follow strange customs or do odd things - and think that's spirituality when its actually a kind of make believe - mostly harmless I suppose but mainly daft. The saving grace with Buddhism is that most of it is skillful means and not an absolute. I shall have to read Torch of Certainty again so I can avoid shagging in Lama-range - perhaps you can buy some kind of warning device on Ebay.
