  1. Yes and they are suggesting that this is the Mahabharata culture - which we were told was 12,000 BC or some such. Actually I am thinking this does answer a question about the legacy of the IVC ... up till now it seemed to go up in a puff of smoke (metaphorically).
  2. I'm fairly sure we were told this was 7000 BC - but hey. A site like this makes perfect sense really.
  3. If you want to continue discussion you will have to stop imputing all sorts of meaning and states of mind onto the other person.
  4. It was a light hearted comment which you laughed at - so I am fairly sure you didn't take it in that way when you first read it.
  5. It's lie - we were just friends - me and homo!
  6. Steve, I think the problem is that altering something like iconography and contextual beliefs and so on when you don't really understand it is dangerous and so it is better in the short term for us to adopt the traditional framing - when there are home grown western realised masters they may introduce new revelations but we are not ready yet. I don't think it is something that people should agonise over though - just accept pro-tem and let it filter through.
  7. That's distasteful. I didn't say anyone should get over anything - so don't twist my words. As a moderator you are supposed to be an example to others in posting. So I suggest you think about your conduct.
  8. In England we haven't recovered from those f**king Romans with their straight roads and hypocausts.
  9. Because she has written a book which upsets the Hindu right-wing nationalists.
  10. I'm itching to read Wendy Doniger and find out why she sooooo bad.
  11. Why do you think it is 'western'.?
  12. Machinery .. the industrial revolution ... have you heard of that?
  13. But they didn't. Europe colonised the rest of the world because of a number of specific causal factors. Those causal factors arose because of the previous history in Europe. It's not a a kind of tit for tat situation. You have to identify why the Judeo-Christian heritage/culture, industrialisation, massive population growth, a series of historical 'accidents', etc. etc. allowed the Brits to colonise India ... and why/how it was maintained for 200 years and why it ended. Its not good vs. bad, black vs. white and so on, it's nuanced and all too human.
  14. Academia has opposing ideas and a narrative history which is continually revised. This even happens in hard science. It's normal. This has happened in Anglo-Saxon history, Norse history ... in fact every history, Egyptology is replete with it. Why do you think Indian history is going to be any different?
  15. Nothing personal but this sounds slightly deranged.
  16. It helps with pooping!!! No-one told me
  17. Pandemic Panic - Transcending the Fear

According to this article in the Daily Mail 40% of Covid patients in the first wave caught the virus in hospital! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9254495/Stopping-Covid-spreading-hospitals-substantial-reduction-wave-deaths.html I also seem to remember that 30% of deaths were in Care Homes ... which means presumably 70% of cases were in institutions - hospitals and care homes. From this I would suggest that if they had dealt with these places properly the outbreak would have been minimal. ???????
  18. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

One of the early signs you are suffering from English variant Covid:

  20. Look ... you stole a loaf of bread in 1762 and that's how you ended up where you are. It's not so much a punishment more a kind of social service. Did we charge you for the boat trip? No. It was a pleasure.
