Really interesting - thanks Apepch7. Some Egyptian statues in museums still hold a certain presence. Visiting the British Museum recently I noticed that despite the room being overcrowded with visitors no one seemed to walk within a three foot radius of a statue of Sekhmet.

Nice one! I've heard that it's good to request enlightened beings to actively intervene as they can't help unless asked (free will and all that I suppose).

Personally, I've a long way to go. Trying not to be attached to my own beliefs.

No (sorry for the presumption), Steve uses his brain and has a lot to offer. -

Sogyal Rinpoche's book is well worth the read. Here's a link to one of his student's spiritual care site giving practices for the dying or recently died that anyone can do: Essential Phowa Medicine Buddha practice is also good for the recently deceased as is Shitro (the practice of the hundred peaceful and wrathful deities). Shitro though requires transmission before practice.

Fascinating aren' t they? Their supposed effectiveness depends on a number of interconnected factors like faith, merit, karma, the strength of one's windhorse. A strong windhorse confers a high degree of natural protection so arguably most of the amulets aren't absolutely necessary except perhaps the Liberation by Wearing Ones for the time of death. Anyway believing that everyone could do with as much help as they can get, I've bought a few for myself, family and friends. I don't know.

Evil must have an object so it exists only in duality.

Abracadabra Maybe the diminishing recitation process can be reversed to bring something into manifestation as well?

Haven't got any mantras to share but perhaps the food can be blessed by irradiating it with a loving vibe from the heart centre and also sending out a message of gratitude to all the beings that made it possible for you to have the food. This can be done quickly and discreetly anywhere. Yes it's almost like the good old fashioned saying of grace - various permutations are possible if you're religious or follow an established path.

Nice! Thanks for sharing. Now if he had been born in an age where no Buddha has appeared perhaps not, though maybe in this case he would give the visions a different label? It's Durkhrod Chogori's good fortune that he has been born with the ten advantages: Born a human, in a central place, with one's faculties intact, Without a conflicting lifestyle and with faith in the Dharma A Buddha has appeared and has preached the Dharma, His teachings still exist and can be followed, There are those who are kind-hearted toward others.

Absolutely Pero! There's a Tibetan saying that goes something like this:"Do not mistake intellectual understanding, for realisation, and, do not mistake realisation, for enlightenment." (funny, these sayings always seem to be Tibetan ).

Just simply with your intention. Reading about your wife's experience it appears that you're already good at transference. For venting through the feet you can stand and imagine you have roots, like a tree, that go from the soles deep into the earth. Vent the extra heat down into the earth on the out breath. You can also imagine that you have roots extending from your coccyx. For the head guide the heat up and out through the crown to the sky. This venting may alleviate the symptoms but I don't know about it dealing with the root cause where too much heat is being produced. If you do have kundalini syndrome then as Jedi777 suggests seek out knowledgeable people in these matters, or if you haven't contacted him already, see if he knows of any pranic healers who can do distant healing (assuming you're comfortable with that). I'm just a well meaning amateur so if my suggestions are wide off the mark hopefully they'll prompt someone with deeper knowledge to step in. All the best.

I'm no expert but have you tried any or all of these? 1) Seeing a Chinese doctor/acupuncturist? 2) Getting regular massage - a turkish one may be good. 3) Expelling extra heat out of the top of the head. 4) Grounding and venting the extra heat into the earth through the soles of your feet. 5) Eating grounding foods like meat and potatoes. 6) Silent communion with whatever you see as your spiritual source. If what the Hindu mystic says is true have you thought about some sort of spiritual purification practice? Good luck!

Hi Chris, That was a nice mix of hyperboyle, presumption and mis-information about the Tibetan Tradition. I'll watch with interest from an even greater distance Kunlun's interaction with the Tibetan tradition. Have fun yourself.

I get your drift WYG. Other people seem to find Kunlun very beneficial and from the accounts of reactions at seminars it was probably a detox reaction - and all this without transmission too! The dates? Well again this is just part of a Kunlun outsider's wild speculation; assuming that Kunlun has proto-shamanic origins the dates I 've given relate to particular days in the Tibetan calendar when beings associated with the elements of earth and water are easier to contact. Now to continue with the wild speculation - given that the earth is in a state of environmental crisis perhaps Kunlun's dissemination at this time is to get people connected to the earth and purified so that this decline can be reversed. That strong serpetine experiences occur even without having attended a seminar might show how important this goal is - the earth is reaching out. I've often thought about practicing Kunlun but am put off by what I see as bogus lama claims. In any event If I were to practice Kunlun I would certainly engage in my usual Buddhist deity practice to see if the energies were mutually agreeable. If the Kunlun energy is all well and good, fine, if not the practice will close the contact. Now that the Kunluners are pissing themselves laughing I'm off back to the day job.
-
Thanks for sharing WYG. If you're moved to continue practising perhaps you, or anyone else for that matter, would like to observe to see if Kunlun experiences are particularly strong on these dates: 24th June - that's today! 3rd July 13th August 24th August 2nd September 3rd September All the best.

It's been a while since I read it but Platos' Symposium goes in to these sorts of questions.

If your practice connects you to a source of unconditional love then the love you manifest to others doesn't have to have some kind of business relationship element to it where it has to be reciprocated. Life being as it is, love is returned in one way or another. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4 -
