There is a lot of good information that has been mentioned already. All I can say is I did have IBS now I dont. I would check to see if others have had it and had their own solutions work for them. Juicing is a bad idea. I tried it and suffered immensely. Your body tries to clean itself out too fast and with IBS i was running to the crapper every 15 minutes. The discomfort was horrible after the apple juice recommendation. Unfortunately in the end you will have to decide LaoTzu21. I know its difficult especially when one is unsure about the right course. All I can say is how I rebalanced my system. Its probably better than something from a cure website. You could also consider talking to a real herbalist. That may afford more peace of mind. I suggest Carlos: http://users.wirefire.com/herbalist/ If you go through the on-line evaluation and communicate with him he can prescribe what you need taylored to what imbalances you have. He has helped me with a few different problems. My stepfather is not diabetic anymore. My stepfather also doesnt have heart disease anymore. Sounds too good to be true? But it is actually true. I can only tell you what I know but Carlos Guerra is a real herbalist. P.s. he is an herbalist, not a spiritual advisor. Please read everything carefully. If you have questions, ask him. I believe there is an evaluation fee.

see post I wrote a few posts after this one about contacting an herbalist about your IBS

I created this topic not to cause a stir but thought everyone might enjoy talking about it. I try to create interesting posts that people can think about sometimes but it presents a unique and bizzare conundrum. (yes now the people who dont like conundrums can stop reading the post because we know you dont like them). Rather than to persuade people, most of the time when I create a new post it is rather a testing of the water for me. A chance to pick the brains of the readers and get a satisfying response based upon peoples experience with given situations. Everything should be acceptable because it is Tao, yet some do not like all things. This could really apply to thoughts, things we watch or hear. A bear charging us might also be something we dont like. Interactions with things, feelings or thoughts generally tend to make an imprint on one's conciousness. Lets say Bob watches a horror movie. Now personally he doesnt like horror movies, but I watch it any way. Later lets say Bob talks to his spirit guides a year later and because he has a photographic memory they play back a picture from the movie that is disturbing in an effort to communicate with Bob. Now of course the message only has meaning for bob, and may mean to communicate being disturbed by something. Communications are always different. So the question is, can thoughts be detrimental also? I know feelings can. I know my post seems vague, but I am confident that you will understand once it begins to be discussed. Pink Light

Ah yes, I was Jesting. Jitterbug is a Swing dance.. Swingers.. Swinging ha ha After she gave him "the clap", he said well I try to stay away from dairy products. the jokes are endless. Hmmm a hurricane might be non harmonious to some. Maybe more harmonious to a hotel owner who makes money on refugees fleeing an evacuation area. -
I know what you mean. You kind of have to reach the point of "Ill try my hardest" but not really care if you do bad. If the manager tells you you are doing a bad job or go faster just say yes sir, right away sir. But just take your time. It is your body and your life. No one deserves to be miserable. Oh by the way I walked off the job those many years ago that was the source of the stress. The manager told me to go faster and I told him to do it himself then. Of course you have to work but the next day there is always paper routes and job hunting. I have never had a hard time getting a job. If you are a hard worker or have special talents (I build computers) it helps. Verbally putting down the job you are doing is just a psychological game. Plus managers do it more to those who they KNOW they can push to go faster. In other words, they dont care about you and your health, so why should you care what they say? A good way to start on your way to destressing is to read this famous work. The irony is some time ago Ya Mu asked if I had read this book... Then DB asked if I had read this book. Only recently have I read it

Yes for me it was just slowing down relaxing. Learning not to care when people were in a frenzy. Avoiding gluten and just destressing and taking care of all my health needs. Yogurt helped too.
-
This is good advice too... especially with the diet suggestions. I had some of the same symptoms plus spicy/greasy food caused sour-acidreflux like in the diet recommendations. Diet recommendations say to avoid grains and potatoes... grains and potatoes are gluten.

heeeere i come to saaave the daaaaaaaay. No seriously IBS is: 1. stress 2. stressing 3. a lot of stress. 4. Imbalance of good bacteria in the intestines. 5. possibly too much glutenous foods. I would say talk to your doctor to see if you have a possible intolerance to gluten. You can increase the good bacteria by eating yogurt, drinking keifer, taking acidophilous capsules (sometimes disagrees with certain people) or drinking kombucha tea. Avoiding gluten helps your intestines work better. gluten from any source glues up your intestines. glueten is in wheat, oats... do research. gluten is not in corn or rice. Also dont strain while going it is not worth it. Relax and take deep breaths. Best of all learn to destress you are going too fast. take your time and relax. No job is worth killing yourself. Learn deep breathing. If you start feeling anxious, tell yourself the thing that is bothering you is irrelevant- that will help you destress. Thats what helped me get over it years ago. Pink Light

Ha ha! good one marblehead! Jitterbug... I guess it is kind of a swing dance. -
hot slightly damp slightly toxic... Enters the lung, chong mai, lower burner, upper burner. it is quite enjoyable. especially wasabi-horseradish. I dont have an LD50 on it, most likely that would take some work to find. I just know if you are exposed to too much of the oil it can be lethal but was are talking A LOT OF HORSERADISH for that to happen.

Lino, I think the way I am understanding Unconditional Forgiveness and how you are understanding it may somehow be similar. Forgive others if they do not understand your way. I forgive your different way of understanding forgiveness. Can you forgive mine?

Everyone had great points. I had some type of histamine type reaction while moving. So i am hoping not to end up looking like vader or something. I would like to keep this going but right now I need to keep my strength up by meditating. So this is a bump. Ad infintium, What cat mentioned with the tibetan meditations or stillness type exercises or non positive things and what marblehead said "what's wrong". Can't be very happy that way. Continue on these lines very good... I will be back. hopefully without filters. Pink Light -
You are unconditionally forgiven Mal. The burden is lifted. Scotty: Most times people do things and do not realize the context or the aftermath of such an action. For example: (I did have a Tao Tzu example here but it might not illustrate my point as effectively.) Despite my mild disdain for using scripture here I have chosen an excerpt from the bible. During his impalement/crux/impalement to tree in golgotha valley (where criminals are impaled). This occured: Luke 23:34 Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."[a] And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. We cannot expect people to be aware. It would be nice... Blame is mostly overrated. Blame is critique and criticism. We should try to endeavor to not connect bad actions to the person themselves. They are a person who commited a wrongful act. But this goes back to everyone not being aware. In a situation where it is a criminal it is entirely different. Blame, just like analytical judgement is like examining a diamond. The more we harp on the flaws we find the less we can enjoy the quality and the fire of the diamond itself. No natural diamond is flawless. A world currently based upon analytical judgement can never allow an era of true peace to exist. Judgement and analysis must occur on a different level of awareness and understanding for peace to occur. One of Synthetic/Symbolic Judgement and Reasoning (Immanual Kant). Scotty I agree that we should speak, feel and deal with others freely. From my experience the extremes I have gone to have not served me very well. I have a story: I forgive you Ninpo for reminding people this topic is to be about unconditional forgiveness. I would like to be forgiven for speaking in a different way than people are used to. Perhaps we should add that this is an unconditional forgiveness? This means it is from the heart and you have to mean it.

I had no idea what this was called but have some private experiences. So I am not sure what to make of it. Well enough about me. I am interested in hearing anyone elses experiences with it. I know you really have to relax your throat and vocal cords to do it. I have had people tell me to knock it off because it sounds like more than one person singing a song... or some type of shaman like sounding in the background. If that helps at all. In person I have never yet heard, as far as I know, anyone singing like this before.

Industrial Society Destroys Mind and Environment

No SoDE did not complain. I did. The reason why is because the company I work for now is very conservative in its rules and practices. I dont abuse internet time, but it just so happened that due to the insulting nature of the post I read, they talked to me. So now I will have to wait a while before reading on my break at work. It doesnt bother me peoples political agenda. I know for some it is even a hobby. But when things like this happen, I cant enjoy what everyone has to say when things like this happen. I know you felt the right to say what you did, and thats okay. Im sure you might feel my actions were political, but I have to respect the wishes of the company I work for and not visit sites that contain profanity. In this case I will try to avoid reading any political topics. Peace out.

Maybe DB was right? Politics is evil?

I called him a few hours ago. He response was "are you drunk?". I explained I had some things I had to get off my chest and started to talk, and suprisingly it went well seeing as we had a falling out about 10 years ago. You see I was a minister at the time and I was telling people what they were doing wrong. (starting to begin to notice a pronounced pattern in my life). So of course they tried to get rid of me and me and my extended family lost whatever left over vistages of christianity we ever believed in. But we had a good time talking, glad I did it. He didnt want to talk about the ginko thing it took him a while to get back to where he is now. He didnt want someone he didnt know out of the blue contacting him to confirm what I said. I guess the only good thing I got out of it was reconcilliation and releasing some long held hostilities. It felt good to show compassion to someone who had it in for me only to find that they were somewhat receptive to it. Isnt it time? I know its possible implications. It was however written at a Kentucky University using information from studies abroad in China for the majority of the time. So although the term pharmacology was used in the title, the work is based upon chinese studies where western and eastern medicine is combined. So there is no focus on only using the pharmacological derivatives only in TCM treatment with these herbs found in the book. There is a lot of fear surrounding the FDA and banning herbs and most of it is well founded. They are funded by drug companies. These drug companies have enough money to have lobbyists decend upon captiol hill when congress decides to vote on something that interferes with the drug company's well being. Businesses are like that and always will be like that. However there is some occlusion in the nature that herbs are very hard to categorize and ban. This is why herbal formulas cannot be patented in the states. They so easily occur naturally and can be mixed almost as easily. Drug companies know this is a weakness, and now seek to do something even more strange: attempt to ban plant species not indigenous to the states from being planted on american soil. (The "White List") What about aunt ethel now who cant plant her flowers in the spring anymore? Thats how desperate they are. That is true, but there are some useful things in the book. It is useful in understanding somethings about individual herbs not found in the materia medica. Perhaps just try to take a look at it rather than judge on the spot? Kudos. That is what I was going to get to. Even with drugs there are effects that occur from person to person. Most of the time it is a mystery to science about the side effects of an her or a drug and why. Even though the book does present a lot of crude information that is useful, nothing speaks to the tried and true patterns that one can see in nature. Patterns that scientists are not (meant?) to see. So I have been agreeing with you, it is just useful to understand some things about these herbs. Like did you know that Ginseng increases the supply of oxygen to all body tissues, especially smooth muscle tissue? (smooth muscle tissue is found in the heart). Other than that, I have great respect for the Ginko Tree and others should respect it too. It is rare, and in fact its other species are now extinct. It is the only species of its similar kind. When I lived for a time in Montana... Missoula to be exact. I would go and visit this tree with fan shaped leaves that lived in the middle of he campus. I was fascinated by it and it always seemed to welcome me in a way. The fact is trees are people too, and should be honored in all the ways that humans are. If it provides something useful that is useful to some, it should still be honored. In some ways I believe we all as human beings too provide a measure of assistance to other people. Just being here with our energy helps other people. Especially if you show compassion for others.

It was a personal friend. Now, I dont think he wants his personal information drifting on the internet. Besides it he was taking vitamins. In situations where formulas are involved that is usually the case. If you are taking an actual TCM formula that contains Ginko Biloba then it is soup we are speaking of. Pharmacology of Chinese herbs breaks down the herbs by their components, not the components of formulas. It seems inappropriate to discredit something because it is not understood. Such behaviour could be likened to saying particle accelerators and particle physicists are useless because they dont take into considerstion the synergy of atoms and molecules. Or that Radio Frequency electronics are worthless because they create unneeded Radio frequency pollution. The study of Chinese Herb Pharmacology tells us a lot about herbs, their toxicity and the appropriate does that are effective. It even tells us things we would not have otherwise known about these herbs. It reminds me a time back when an uncle said they liked a specific cartoon. I thought it was dorky. Later on I decided I liked it but somehow I was unable to find copies of it anymore. As for personal information, the Mak thing left a bad taste in my mouth. Who knew that someone had the balls to call up people I had learned from and obnoxiously yell at them. So no personal information. Sorry to disappoint.

I was mucking around a bit on that search and turned up a picture of a poppy (flower). Of course it is an internal part of the flower.. Isnt it awesome??

hmm kind of like light in a tunnel or radio frequency photons moving through a wire... Interesting. -

in thought everything exists therefore the perception is wrong. -
People get angry about this but Ginko Biloba is dangerous and not meant for long term use. Pharmacology of Chinese Herbs states that several months use can lead to a weakening of brain arteries resulting in aneurysm, stroke or brain hemmorraging. Ive been saying this for a long time people. I know people who have had brain damage from misusing this herb by taking it all the time, or taking it sporadically long term.

Blasto, heres your MOPAR BED LINERS: ....! All in good fun of course. I know youre probably not feeling great after the minor surgery but it would be cool to have a TTBum party. Could get that grill you have going and cook some TNT burgers. Ill even bring the olde west bbq sauce.
