  1. Yeah sure, ill give it a shot.

I learned pakua when I was a teenager and then went 'off the path'.

I came back to focus on Chikung around 2002 and did it religiously with the concept of ascension in mind till 2005. Around 2004 I learned the Daoist Dream meditations and such. I am not going to go into my credentials and certifications because I dont want to be seen as a teacher here.

Im not going into the pakua or magic stuff prior to 2002. Leave it at that.

2002 Left to my own devices I began to reconstruct what I remember of chikung and begin practicing on my own this time. I got the same skin crawling sensations as the first times. Et cetera.

2004 It wasnt until this year that on my own my consciousness began to shift into the emotional state and a lot of emotions began to resurface. I began to see a white mist around myself and others for starters.

2005 I met my girlfriend and from her, I naturally began to piece together the stuff I misunderstood from friends and my previous teacher, about feeling. She helped me to learn to communicate with and sense spirits, sense objects. Raise my vibrations.

2006 Went to see a sorcerer in Brazil

2007 Learned a healing technique in a Dream session from a fire spirt on a devic world.

That is not even including recent stuff.

To me what is talked about, alchemy, enlightenment is just learning to feel yourself or things outside your body. The smoother your energy through emotions and actions the easier it is.

Everything seems to be about a constant shift in greater awareness.

Recently Im addicted to learning "Go" I believe this game symbolically teaches us to strike a balance between life(centralized protection) and death(attack and spreading influence).

So rather than view it as something that can be confirmed, yes it can be. It does exist if thats what you mean. There is so many methods and ways even outside of daoism to do things. I think it is just hard for some to believe it enough to try.

If I was to speak in terms of how I accomplish things in this field now. I was a thinker before, proving things by facts and such and using critical thinking.

Now I feel. It is all about emotions and sensation. Turning off everything else but that for the most part is what it is all about. Critical thinking and worrying about not having enough information isnt going to help.

Visiting people who have higher energy vibrations has been known to jumpstart progress.

Also attempt visiting a vortex suggested by someone with credentials this has also know to spike ones awareness.

There are other ways too. Just make sure they are truely certified.

  2. I saw the stuff about the tigle' s.

They just exist as the chakra cores. More than one acupunture point crossing creates a chakra like effect to add.

It is just a matter of awareness.

Tigle is more akin to tibetan buddhism from my experience however, and some of the practices especially the black tigle practice or the rose crystal practice can be dangerous. Being untrained you can introduce violent things into your subconscious you may not be ready for which resurfaces in ones daily life...

  3. I think it is very interesting to see where your searches have taken you guys.

Question, has anyone here played the Asian game "Go"?

I believe it illustrates the two main types of strategy, choosing life through one type of placement and attack (death) by spreading out ones pieces and increasing ones influence on the board...

I mention this because it relates entirely to the subject, just in case you wonder why I am talking about a game. The two strategies and the concepts you were talking about are related.

  4. If you have desire, you are attached. If you have attachments, you have desire. No desire of something, means you are not attached to it, no views for it.

    Peace,

    Lin

    Hi Lin,

I have a question. Some years back when I had begun to stray off the route of compassion and had even developed too much yin, yang collapse to be precise...

It made me very recently completely appreiciate compassion more and have a deeper respect for it.

I know it is a large subject but if you or would like to talk more about your feelings on desire, passion and how it relates to traing and enlighenment that would be totally awesome. Of course Im not saying no one else can chime in, IIf you have some experiences please feel free to share.

    Thank You

  5. This is how to create your own custom "Tao Bum" tm Title that will appear below your Avatar once you reach "Tao Bum!" status. (I am not sure how many post you need before you become a "Tao Bum!" may have to ask a senior member! haha  )

But anyway once you have been here a while, or maybe you can do this from day one? Ha ha! That would be the exciting part! If you are new, try it and see if you can maybe you can post your results! :D

    1. Okay how to do it, first, click on My Controls. I circled it in the example picture below.

    med_gallery_32013_84_7765.jpg

    2. Okay now scroll down till you see "Edit Profile Information" click on that. (See Example Picture below)

    med_gallery_32013_84_38718.jpg

    3. Okay now you should see the box "Custom member title" Enter your title in this box. (Title cannot be too long or it will erase the end of it) After you do that, dont click anything else, you are not done! (See Example Picture Below)

    med_gallery_32013_84_77148.jpg

    4. Last step. Scroll down now after you have entered your title. And click "Amend Profile" button shown in the example picture below.

    med_gallery_32013_84_23765.jpg

There you go. You now have your custom title. But that is not all:

Ettiquette And Editorial, These are merely suggestions below, and not the direct view of Tao Bums, though they are generally the view of the general public regarding certification:

Now if you are going to use a title that is something goofy or not related to certification, simply dismiss the rest of this post.

However, I would refrain from entering titles such as "doctor", "priest" and so forth if you cannot back them up!

Since there is no Board policy mentioned on Tao Bums requiring confirmation of your CERTIFICATION as a priest, monk, rabbi, doctor or et cetera if you choose to do so, you may have people ask you to present any of the following to verify your credentials since it is not policed by Tao Bums. This is of course practical, and quite obvious because someone acting and claiming to be something everywhere else in the world requires credentials. If you are offended, you have something to hide or have your empathies extremely misplaced.

Buddhist Monk or Priest (Yes, buddhism and Taoism are similar thats why this is here):

E-sangha has good guidelines for providing proof to people that you are what you say you are. Simply use the example shown on their board here, Scroll down and read under "Guidlines For Ordained Ministers":

    http://www.lioncity.net/buddhism/index.php?act=boardrules

For Taoist Priests? Only the same thing, plus:

    1. Name a deity, its Taoist and Buddhist name, its constellation (star(s)) In Taoism and Buddhism, The purpose and significance of the deity along with the descriptions of energies imparted.

    2. The name of your sect in Buddhism also. Most are so ancient they carry a Buddhist name also. If you think a sect might be fake, look into a Buddhist name, one sect that is a real one is called Cittipati in Tibetan Buddhism, but in China and the U.S., a few people misunderstand the Taoist name and think it might be fake because they do not know! haha!

    3. The list of deities on ones altar or a picture. These are universal and do not change within one's sect.

    4. Have they taken the Bodhisattva vow? Many do, the few, the negative do not.

Since priests learn these, it is acceptable. Priest learn many many different rituals, most of which are taught to their students.

Ministers may be exempt from these last four due to difference in training, where as being a priest or claiming to be the highest priest carries more responsibility and karma depending upon ones actions.

For all other people with credentials, I would recommend finding some similarities with those general concepts.

As these are not rules, and I am just merely suggesting these, it is clearly understandable that if one should come to the situation of some type of professional relationship as regards teaching or training, all of these should be furnished upon request. We all live in the real world and should not do things we would not otherwise do face to face.

If I went to a doctors office and wanted to see his certification first (some do though it is few and far between) a Doctor will do this. A Doctor is kind and courteous.

Should we really ask anything different of ourselves and others?

    Metta

Edit: Created distinction between Minister and Priest.

  6. And that means what? Sorry, I am a bit confused with your explanation.

Ah LOL it was a joke actually. Was just trying to liven things up.

It probably did not contribute to the thread, but there are may conspiracy theories out there.

Conspiracies dont really mean very much to me anymore. Building up ones ability to "feel" if something is true or correct is. This is called clairsentience.

Believe it or not it is a real ability developed by highly evolved psychic people, that can also be developed through training. Perhaps that is what you are looking for?

It would be hard otherwise to prove some things if it were not through experience, yes?

  7. The laws regarding how Trans fats are labeled have made this particular issue troublesome.

Recently there was a case in federal court a few years ago which deregulated what the food industry has to do when labling ingredients and nutritional value labels on food.

Before the deregulation, hydrogenated oils were considered transfats. But during the trial, it was deemed that hydrogenated oils are more closely related to plastic! Thus since plastic is not a food it was found that it could not be regulated by the FDA!

Though real trans fats do exist, one example is coconut oil, looking for trans fats is not a decent way anymore to avoid these contaminants (hydrogenated oils).

It is no longer required for companies to label oils if they are hydrogenated or not either, though some still do out of courtesy.

In fact the legal stuff is almost making it difficult for people like me to inform the general public about the additives in foods like McDonalds also. Now I cannot say McDonalds has so and so in their food. And in fact when people ask at McDonalds they refer them to the website for product ingredient information. However if you get someone nice, you can ask them to read the ingredient label on the oil they use and then you can find out for yourself weather or not their food contains said item.

    Scarey huh?

I bought a 20lb block of margarine from a food warehouse back in 2002 I had it open in my garage for 2 years. During that time, there was no rotting smell, and the flies would not even eat it!

It looked the same as the day I had bought it. That is what margarine is, hydrogenated vegitable protien. Very similar to the oils.

There are a lot of people even the companies that need to be shown compassion about this so that they can see what is happening to the people.

  8. Just for FYI that was celadrin right? thats a celadine (variety of oriental poppy derivative) liquid that comes from the plant as far as i can recall. (from the top of my head) I am pretty sure this is different from the fluid that they use wen they score the pod and catch from the pod. Maybe you can clarify that Ian, that that is Celandine we are talking about?

    Topical for arthritis also:

Eucalyptus oil and hempseed (easily purchased, even online) oil. When you combine the two it offers a lot of relief from stiffness.

It can be very spendy, does not get rid of all the pain but does great in complememnting western medicine and getting rid of a bit of the pain and stiffness. At this, this was suggested to me by Carlos Guerra (herbalist) thanks Carlos!

In the past I used to use ginger liquid concentrate, which was somewhat effective and very stinky. It does in a pinch, and here I mean rubbing it on the sore area.

    Dont use:

I had seen people dangerously use Ephedra (Ma Huang which in Chinese means "ask for trouble")[even the equivalent sudafed which is chemically the same] to get rid of such pain as it strengthens the wei qi field for a time (emotional body).

But as the name suggests 'ask for trouble' the wei qi field can be weakened or damaged after misuse/longterm use due to yang collapse resulting in a yin cold condition in the body which can be painful.

Damaging the Wei Qi field can weaken the immune system and your bodys ability to fight off external pathogenic factors and should never be considered as an alternative pain relief due to the health problems from misuse of Ephedra in this manner.

  9. I tried some of them briefly but not WoW and I left it all because I learned that uncontrolled desire is the cause of all suffering whether it is in real life or computerized fantasy games. The drive for gaining levels and status just increased the intellectual addiction and distracted me from all the important things in life.

    Complete ditto here....

  10. I just wanted to add that Ya Mu is right about those suppliments and Qigong.

My wife and I when we can try to take Fish Oil (omega-3) when we can, usually in combination with glucosamine and msm.

So they are suppliments that work too. This is just kind of like another added vote of confidence for it, from another person kind of like me saying yes, Ive used it too.

My take on it is that compassion is found consistently throughout the Buddhist texts because it is so fundamental in order to awaken to the ultimate truth.

As the venerable master Hsuan Hua says:

"Buddhism talks about kindness and compassion. What is kindness? It means being kind to those with whom one has no affinity. That is, you should be kind and compassionate to people who feel no affinity with you, no matter how they treat you.

There's also the great compassion of being one with all. How can we have great compassion? Great compassion is a feeling of pity and sympathy. When we see others suffering, we also suffer. This is known as commiserating with the world's people.

We should practice kindness, compassion, joy and giving, because by being kind we can make living beings happy, and by being compassionate, we can sympathise with living beings and alleviate their suffering and afflictions.

We should love people as much as we love ourselves."

    ~Hsuan Hua~

Works on compassion are in Taoist sources as well, though it seems to be less common. Here's some more from Taoist sources that I found.

"Who can enjoy enlightenment and remain indifferent to suffering in the world?

This is not in keeping with the way.

Only those who increase their service along with their understanding can be called men and women of Tao"

"When you percive that an act done to another is an act done to yourself, you have understood a great truth."

    ~Hua Hu Ching~

    Extolling the Lotus, verse 2:

    "Our original pure immaterial seed

Is crystal clear throughout all time.

Because it dislikes mental and material greed

It bides for a time deep in the mud.

It always intends to help people out,

    Ever determined to overcome selfishness.

Of the many who try to take it,

How many really know what it is?"

~The book of Balanace and Harmony~

I think thats really cool. I talked to Wilson Yong in passing a few days ago, and he was talking to me about this exact subject. Technically he is not my teacher, yet. Perhaps in the future I can visit for training (he does not teach online)

But he was talking about how most of the very spiritual people take the Bodhisattva vow. I was very inspired by this, especially as he said they do their best so as to not have any negative thought. In fact some of them wont even respond if put into bad situation or show kindness in turn.

    Very inspirational.

  12. I wish everyone well, without enmity, and that they be happy.

    Just like my loved ones.

I admit, I have recently been practicing it, it came recommended, also I was open to the concept.

    loving kindness,

    rabbit
