Thank you for the thought, Mat. I tend to get caught up too easily in "the affairs of others".

True - I've seen that in the short time I've been here. I suppose all the cycling also has something to do with new people coming in, and either working out "their stuff" or moving on. I know there has been a recent wave of newbies, so maybe that explains all the turbulence.

Interesting. I had a lot of dreams last night - mostly about ego. Times when my ego erupted full force, and I wasn't able to do things anyway but MY WAY. I'm up against this again in real life - and I think a lot of the conversation last night stirred things up. I do think that interacting with others does change you - help you to see outside the box. Is MY WAY always the right way? No - but understanding that intellectually and accepting it emotionally are two different things.

Nicely put Mat. Hundun, I hope you stop back - but either way, I wish you well.

I think that's true both ways. Those of us who come here bring our pre-conceptions of what the forum "should be". When it doesn't turn out as expected, we tend to lash out at the other members rather than looking at ourselves.

I think it's more a matter of push and shove. Who pushed who first? Sometimes I think there is a little too much male energy around here.

The bickering on this board has always bothered me. The goofing around I can live with. Everyone comes here for different reasons. I would rather deal with someone with a fun, playful attitude than someone who is so sure that they are right about everything that they can't consider other points of view. JMHO.

Oh daddy dear, you know you're still number one - but girls just wanna have fun...

Same here. Everytime I try to go veggie, I fall back on my evil ways (baby). Oops - my Santana is showing.

they just wanna, just wanna...

Actually , there is such a thing as water intoxication - and it can kill you. Drinking excessive water can cause you to lose the electrolytes in your body. This is why doctors recommend that you not give water to infants. However, an adult has to drink huge amounts of water (gallons) for this to happen.

Yes. My daughter agrees!

Choosing the right time during the day to meditate

I do it early in the morning 5:30 - 6:00. I'm afraid if I didn't do it until night it wouldn't get done. -
I'm not sure that this is really a case of intuition vs. judgement. From the way you tell it - it all seems to occur in your head. Intuition to me is more of a gut feeling - knowing something that you would have no other way of knowing. You pick it up below the level of rational thought. None-the-less, if a registered sex offender moved into my neighborhood, I would be VERY careful. Those are the kind of judgment errors that you can't undo.

Thanks for the mention about Persephone. Hadn't thought about that. My daughter is 13 and starting to act more grown up than I would probably like at this point. So yes - there is probably some fear about "losing her". There's also an interesting correlation between Persephone being carried into Hades, and my daughter getting swept into a storm sewer. Hmmmm.

Thanks Michael. I did just that.

I had a really disturbing dream last night. The gist of it was that I got mad at my daughter and smacked her head into a wall. She passed out, fell down on the ground and got swept into a storm sewer. I woke screaming. Why would I dream something like that?

I know nothing about this subject really - but it seems to me that not wanting to come back almost guarantees that you will come back. After all - aren't you here to learn something, and learning it is what keeps you from coming back?

Not too surprising actually. There has never been any mention of a female love interest for him in any of the books. The whole description of Grindewald and his friendship with Dumbledore in the last book seem to be leading in that direction.

Agreed. Pacifism is not about not valueing your own life. It is about valueing ALL life. Many people have died for something they believe in (not just pacifists).

BCT, Thanks for sharing. V.

Hey loose tea - I live not far from you (relatively) in Penn Hills!

I love when that happens - when somehow you can connect with an animal. No small talk necessary. Here's a cool poem by St. John of the Cross: I was sad one day and went for a walk; I sat in a field. A rabbit noticed my condition and came near. It often does not take more than that to help at times- to just be close to creatures who are so full of knowing, so full of love that they don't- chat. they just gaze with their marvelous understanding.
