See and not see may be a reference to visualization also. E.g. Sight Beyond Sight (You don't physically see images in your eyelids, you see them "somewhere else".) Or it may be a reference to feeling instead of seeing. Sort of like seeing without looking, get an overall feel for whatever the situation / exercise is. Just like Wu-Wei, effortless action. Non-action means not going against what comes without effort or exertion. If you drop your glass and break it, water would tell you "Okay, sweep the pieces and go grab another glass, no time or reason to fret."

When sadness comes, and you don't want it to go away?
DaoChild replied to awake's topic in General Discussion
Like attracts like; additionally, humans love wallowing in our own self-pity and misery. -
Plenty of sleep, good nutrition, lots of water.

I don't mean to burst any bubbles, but Dr. Haha Lung is thought to be a quack and has been de-famed by more than 90% of the people I've heard mention him. You'll find his name all over the internet.

Many people would say that experiencing is believing. I never have experienced miraculous Chi in any form, but then again I don't do QiGong. I've had quite a few 'mystical' experiences of my own, but I have been doubting myself every day since I began meditation at age 13. But things such as OBE give interesting food for thought. I'm not sure if that helps you - but perhaps if you pick one exercise, and stick with it long enough, hopefully within a few months you'll realize real concrete results.

The moment you begin to think, and go "aha! I did it!", you've already lost the stillness and your mind has pervaded the picture again. You definitely can't control or remove thoughts - you have to sort of casually let them drift away. In my opinion, it's about letting go rather than force or concentration. Passive vs. Active process.

Programmed? Uh huh. Humanity CAN choose, but many of us have chosen soda & sweets. That's not programmed at all, it's a conscious choice made every day.

Spiritual healing (Kunlun et.al.) regarding the eyes
DaoChild replied to Owledge's topic in General Discussion
Not sure where you came up with this. I see your reference but I've never seen any other mention of it. For 99% of humanity that is without eyesight, they can't see any of the things you mention. And no, blind people don't have the other four senses enhanced - they merely pay attention to them more since they are lacking our main form of sensory perception, which is sight. -
I thought colloidal silver has had no verification of any health benefits. That, and as it builds up in your skin is becomes toxic.. or you become one of the blue man group

Spirituality without an afterlife
DaoChild replied to innerspace_cadet's topic in General Discussion
Personally, I don't care what comes next. It's unimportant to me because I live a virtuous life for its own sake.. I believe that if I live right - I treat my body right, my thoughts right, the people around me right - I won't have to worry about what comes next. -
I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi Zanshin, I'm an avid green tea drinker, so several years ago I bought a lovely tetsubin. I drink all manner of teas (I'll even drink a Rooibos in my tetsubin from time to time), but personally here's how I do it. Get the water to a boil. Pour some into the teapot, some into the teacups, let them heat up, and then pour the water out. Let the water in the teapot settle for several minutes so that it cools and does not scorch the tea leaves. Measure out how much tea you want to use (I actually can't give you exact measurements anymore, as I simply eyeball it), add the water, and steep for several minutes. Steep time depends on the heat of your water and the type of tea (green, black, red). I like drinking Jasmine Dragon Pearl (My favorite tea), and it's rather light so I don't try to put too hot water, or steep more than a few minutes.

Hi all. Obviously you could write a LOT about this. I'm interested in what each one of you think is the importance (and symbolism) of the Yin / Yang to Taoism. Write as much or as little as you want, because I'm actually very unfamiliar with the Yin Yang symbol beyond just the surface. Eager to hear, Daochild

I've never heard this before, is there anything you can refer me to so I can explore this further? Cheers,

Get the book "Pranic Healing" It teaches you everything about reading it, diagnosing, and strengthening.

I never said it couldn't be another way. I said "it's almost always going to come back down" - maybe it gets caught in a tree? Maybe a gust of wind takes it, maybe someone else catches it.. gravity is still there, all the time. But something else acted upon it, does that negate gravity? I would say no personally, that something else acts also. On the other hand, I highly agree with you regarding dreams. Funny, I was just pondering that this morning. Just like Chuang Tzu speaking about being a butterfly. The brain is fully convinced by the consciousness that THAT is the real reality (I had messed up dreams last night, that I'm GLAD I woke up from..). But anyway - why does the brain PRODUCE dreams, but not realize that it's dreaming? Kinda cool in my opinion. Food for thought,

Can you really know? Sure. Throw a ball at a baby's face, and it will hit and then the baby will cry. Throw the ball at a child's face, and they learn to flinch and cover the face. Reach the age of three, and you realize that once you throw a ball in the air it's almost always going to come back down. Don't I know that?

Sounds like an adventure! I'm doing the same in a year, and in my opinion it's the best way to find out the truth for yourself. Don't take anyone else's word for it.

is enlightenment a mental disease, according to psychology?
DaoChild replied to mantis's topic in General Discussion
No, depersonalization disorder and enlightenment aren't the same. I've experienced depersonalization MANY times in my life - lack of sleep can induce it, and when I was a kid and even recently (i'm almost 22) I still get it. I always used to call it dream vision, since I felt like I was in a dream, and it would occur for no reason. In my opinion, dpersonalization disorder is a feeling of detachment, non-connection, confusion. Enlightenment is supreme understanding, no concept of self or separateness, and profound understanding. -
Convincing evidence of miracles? Oh dear... hurray for youtube as a citation.
