  1. Heat generating practices and cell death

Sorry, now this sounds totally confusing to me and tiptoeing around the matter. But to pick one thing out: What is dark matter and dark energy? The way it is used in the text, it must be known with certainty (= understood).
  2. Heat generating practices and cell death

@drewhempel The links are interesting, but unfortunately I can't see their connection to my question, and I also don't understand why you call the Leidenfrost effect "plasma ionization of water". Is this all just an assumption of yours? @daochild I understand the reduced metabolic rate. It is meant to produce heat through biochemical means, and when other forms of energy generate the heat, you don't need the former.
  3. ding dong, the stick is dead

It tells a lot that it takes illegal hacking to really get things done. But... even JFK told people what big of a problem secrecy is in a society.
  4. Healing a wart

I'm not sure what worked on my foot warts. Had them for years. Very deep. Even suspected that what I removed on top, re-grew from below. Freezing was inefficient. Some etheric oil might have helped, too, but the warts really began to 'deconstruct' and heal after I applied a zapper a few times, with the electrodes on two opposing sides of a wart. Since the cause for warts is a virus, any antivirals should work. Local application more efficiently of course.
  5. Buddhist cats

Do you see that lovely non-existant smile on the monk's face? You can really tell that he's not doing it just for the money.
  6. Project Day Lily: Military Sick Weapon

So the usual. But I wonder why all the murders. Unnecessary in a time where government crimes are usually not investigated. Dr. Nicolson should read up on the AIDS myth. Would clear up some confusion.
  7. ding dong, the stick is dead

Let me rephrase: A capacity of a planet to sustain lifeforms depends on many factors, and a very crucial one is technology. The technlogy "agriculture" for example increases it. You can also split those technological factors into sustainable and non-sustainable. About the die-off that you speak of: According to my line of reasoning this is already happening, in fact it's happening all the time, probably to various degrees. Dominant, powerful factions are constantly working on decreasing the support capacity of the planet. (That's the means by which they manage to decrease the population size itself.) Maybe some of them really just believe it's a problem of sustainability, but many of them apparently follow the same line of thought as people who own a sportscar and wish the roads were cleared of all the slow traffic.
  8. PostSecret

Somewhat off-topic, but when I read the thread title, I was suddenly wondering whether there's a lingu-historical relation between the words "secret" and "sacred".
  9. Find any sense in this quote?

I don't see how "possible" equals "no time dimension applied here". It would be a comparison of two things on two different premises. And even if so, it would still make no sense to say that the universe is finite. Realistically, we would even have to dump the mathematical model of a link between 100% of the brain cells and reduce it, because you can't really link a cell from the far left to one on the far right. If we apply every mathematical trick (like counting direct links AND additionally counting any indirect link across several neurons), maybe the number becomes incredibly high, but this of course would be ludicrous. If every direct link from one neuron to the other is counted, it's not possible, because a link has to be established by matter, consisting of atoms.

  11. @zazaza Although somewhat book-based, just for your information, because you're interested in efficient methods, you might want to take a look at this: http://www.kunlunbliss.com Watch the two videos on the website and see whether it 'vibes' with you.
  12. @Nilo Are you aware that the principle favored by you, of not storing energy so much as opening oneself to its flow, is a general principle of many techniques? Kunlun and Reiki for example do it that way, too. It seems like there are more and more approaches to this appearing on the stage. A rich choice so that everybody should be able to find their favorite one.
  13. Psychic Training

Strictly logical, the fact that it's a wonderful excuse doesn't say anything about the credibility of the claim in a specific case. It is more useful to think whether there is any reason for telling the untruth or self-deception and whether self-deception is likely, given the circumstances. So why not try NOT to get to an illusionarily 'solid' conclusion? Drama often ensues when people can't handle not knowing.
  14. Psychic Training

Personally I wouldn't trust online psi tests. You really think the results aren't routed to Homeland Security? Especially since you have to register and you are lured with such typical psycho-marketing babble as "The tests are designed to be fun". I'm just saying that the possibility of this has to be considered.
  15. Alcohol since we can remember

@zazaza Apparently, addictive substances - at least some like nicotine - don't work ONLY through dopamine, otherwise there could be many replacement substances. So the bliss of spiritual practice probably doesn't help, but the enlightenment part of it might help. That's the method used in Carr's book, while the replacement method very often fails. Very recently I have experienced another very obvious example of how powerfully nicotine can take away one's objectivity and courage. @5et The problem is that your suggestion is not practical. Addicts will lie to themselves.
  16. Calling all Zelda Fans

The best jokes are provided by life. At the beginning of each video: "Warning: Mature content" No, mature is exactly what the content is not.
  17. Alcohol since we can remember

I guess that owl now has turned fowl ... I mean foul.
  18. I am wondering, Pandit Tree: How do you perceive the appearance of your own writing-style in this matter? ... Provided you consciously read what you write. By the way... according to this... ...presuming that you live up to that philosophy, I could bury you in vulgar language about hipocrisy and all that stuff, but since I myself live up to that philosophy, I treat you as I wish to be treated. It's just that I'm wondering whether you might be the world's most advanced and extensive case of Tourette Syndrom or a real master of Troll-Chi.
  19. Another of 'those appeals'. I don't know how to say it differently. It like a diversion from the core problem. Trying to fix a way of thinking with systems and organisation? I think that we could actually keep all the things that are demonized like big corporations, massive energy use and others if people were different. The institutions themselves are just an effort for making things more efficient. If they had adhered to the rules set by the people, there would be no problem. But laws are broken, people let themselves be manipulated into hatred. Focus on people and everything else will manifest 'automatically'. Because all institutions are just creations of people.
  20. National Geographic Video

    Confused old lady.
  21. What is the point

Since you can understand how a nation basically thinks by analyzing their language, you probably can understand how nature works by learning its language, too. I find it fascinating how the system of language influences perceptions of the world and the whole way of thinking ... and the other way round. You could probably say, language is a constricting system like the many others made by society.
  22. Oliver, humanzee?

Even I am still too moderate in this matter. There's so much crazy shit about that guy. ( Imagine what's going on in the tomb of Skull & Bones. Or at Boheniam Grove. )
