Lets Talk Obama - Was he a good President?
Owledge replied to TheWhiteRabbit's topic in The Rabbit Hole
This should be satire. Not just openly admitting a subversive tactic, but making it an organized system of portraying moral bankruptcy (and basing protests against Trump on shameless capitalism) is just more of the madness. I don't think there's any limit to this insanity. New bombshells every day. What they're doing there might even be outright illegal. At least there should be lawsuits against something so rotten. I'm too tired to explain. Solve the riddle yourself, it's not that hard. -

It is saddening to see Venezuela and Cuba slowly crumbling under the pressure now, probably eventually becoming the same 'democracy-blessed' vassals as so many other 'allies'. While the world is learning to resist the corruption, those countries are fresh cases of having become vulnerable and they are under especially vicious focus by the USA. (The addicted fanatic is frantically seeking for new outlets for his crazed righteousness, trying to maintain the old ego-boosting level.) -

The movie "Idiocracy" is the left's idea of a grim future. As is being shown now, the real threat is the idiocy in denial, the fanaticism disguising itself as intellectual superiority. If anything, movies like "Idiocracy" rather contribute to that kind of evil; they're a symptom, because they boost the ego with compliments of contrasting, by taking easy shots at others. I'm kinda glad that it didn't take yet another 4-8 years for a nemesis to appear and reveal the full extent of the madness. The world might not have had that time left. The current situation very much reminds me of two literary works (which naturally people who conveniently tell themselves they're smart just because they mock supposedly stupid people won't have read and/or understood): - The Emperor's New Clothes (Des Kaisers Neue Kleider) - The Arsonists (Biedermann und die Brandstifter) -

AFAIR their reasoning for awarding the price was HIM being inspirationally motivating through the things he said and his skin color. (They likely didn't say the latter part, but it was implied.) Thanks for your summary of the lengthy conference vid. Kinda what was to be expected, but still good to know it was just the same shit as usual. How can history not repeat itself; how can the world become a better place, as long as the petty rabble rules? As we can see recently, it lies in the nature of denial that there is no limit to it. I might have mentioned it before, but did you notice the common thread of cheap superficial tricks? 2016 = woman 2008 = black guy 2004 = "John F. Kerry" Kinda speaks for itself and fits perfectly into the giant focus on superficiality over substance in the political left, as also expressed in political correctness enforcement. I find this a potentially funny situation because once Trump takes office he might use it for the exact opposite that it was intended for - i.e. then for combating ACTUAL fake news, i.e. mostly from the MSM. And even if he approached it in a biased way and ONLY nuked the lies from the MSM against him, it would still probably be an improvement because that's the big problem - with the powerful corporate media institutions. -

What I did learn about recently is that Obama has signed the creation of a propaganda ministry and that the HRC campaign was also directly responsible for Trump's win because they used the media to boost him up as a 'big baddie' for serving as an offputting contrast making HRC look like the only alternative. Another example of immense arrogance failing immensely. But if I look at the stuff Obama is doing, he might be intending to tempt Trump with power. That and/or the Democrats intend to continue some kind of government besides the legitimate one, possibly also preparing a coup. -

Personally I avoid such disclaimers whenever I can, because they signal to PC bigots that you are giving the control to them that they so lust for. It's a dominance game; the power trip for the insecure. I prefer to let people freely entertain and signal their perceptual distortions so that I quickly learn about their personal bias and character. It's saving me a lot of otherwise wasted effort. -

That is so messed up and incoherent that I can't even respond to it. At least not without writing an essay about semantics, which is not worth it, since you have already shown a deliberate lack of understanding. -

From an evolutionary view about perpetuation of a species, or just from the definition of the term, yes, of course. And I've examined a couple of cases that give interesting clues about what evolutionary, psychologically and possibly spiritually inclined programs can be the cause of at least some of it. There are actually more mainstream studies than one would find for a taboo topic, so the situation is not really appalling. But it's a bit like research is on hold because of several reasons, one being PC, another being that since there are no harmful effects on society there's not much funding since there's no perceived need to attain that knowledge. (And those two reasons tie into each other.) @Kar3n Abstract fears drive actions that give reason for substantial fear of those who act on them. Abstract fear is a deliberate choice made to manifest a reality of one's choosing. -

Interestingly, Wikipedia states the definition of "disorder" as "a functional abnormality or disturbance". Homosexuality doesn't necessarily cause disturbance, but the first part of the definition is still pretty solid from certain points of view, and sadly the issue went from being shunned right to being politically protected and declared positive or even worthy of pride, thus PC culture skipping a sincere and objective examination and free exchange of ideas that could bring further enlightenment and that of course also fueling the manifestation of the other side of the divide. Yet at the same time someone practicing self-love to a degree that makes others uncomfortable is considered a disorder, while it could very well be that this diagnosis is fueled by a inferiority complex in those making the diagnoses. (The labeling also makes it easy to attribute blame on the subject instead of also considering the factors that led to it.) The relativity of such things and the problematic variability of the term "normal" should always put things into perspective and calm the mind, allowing it to come to authentic insights. (There are very interesting studies about the psychopathic underpinnings of psychiatry for example.) -

This indeed goes nowhere and apparently you understand how you make sure of that. You directly contradict yourself and the statements made by first claiming "without replacement" and then quoting "replaced". If you had informed yourself without cherrypicking, you'd know Trump said (as I mentioned) that it will of course be a transition and not tear-down-then-chaos-then-eventually-something-new. It is also distracting when you keep referring to "persons posting here" while responding to me. How about focusing on the content of what you are responding to? Based on your second paragraph though it looks more like you are simply talking in imagined extremes and absolutes about people; the usual strawmanning, which would mean you are emotionally compromised. Such indicates and leads to further lack of discipline... -

I've read the OP-linked psychologist's text but discarded it because the writer was clearly politically biased, so I couldn't trust it to be backed by professional expertise. It's also not about banalizing his flaws, but about working with what you got or you'll saw off the branch you're sitting on. It's about maturity and personal responsibility. The things many people tend to criticize about Trump who aren't capable of it themselves. What is your fact basis for claiming "millions will be without health insurance with no replacement"? AFAIK all we have for now are Trump's statements of intent to the contrary in public interviews. -

I see so much stuff conveyed by all kinds of politicians via other public means that is not even close to "benign", and so I don't see why Twitter should be the problem. Obama said on news TV camera that the election system cannot be tampered with and Trump should stop whining. That's what people would call typical Trump, and it was neither Trump nor Twitter. -

I was reminded of the trolling accusation against Trump, and thought, in lack of the ability to reliably peek into people's head, trolling is also in the eye of the beholder. Those who claim he's just trolling kinda expose themselves as taking issue with what he says if/when his intention is not to troll. -
Red alert! ;-) At the core all feelings are genuine and created by the mind, but if you generate them based on conscious concepts then you pile more on top while you'll want to shrink the stack so you can experience the emotions you suppressed and get over those experiences. You are running away from conceptualization. That's no solution. In a way the mind should actually dull. Candle meditation is a valid technique for a reason. You focus on nothing but the candle flame and no matter what happens internally you keep doing that. You calm the mind through acceptance of anything that emerges. That process is discipline. The result is effortlessness. You are not doing it to become better at not-thinking. That might occur on its own, after you've managed to do a good job with the candle meditation. Which is really non-doing, so don't try to become better at it. Often people are excellent at it and then get worse.

Even then I don't see the problem with using modern means of direct communication with the People. He's not really conducting politics on Twitter and it's not like so many other politicians aren't doing the same thing. People calling it childish are likely shooting an own goal. -

Try to be less self-centered. You are talking to person that is not you. I'm interested in your reasoning, in your own words. -
Do not try to break free. That's part of the same problem. Whether it happens you will know by passively observing (being aware of) your own thoughts, motives, expectations and intentions that drive your actions. If you can ask your mind why you are doing something and you get an explanation as response, that is indicating conceptualization. It is useful to not fight it because it can give you inisight. You are not supposed to make the patient shut up, but to let them show you the problem. It needs to be a meditative approach where you practice a process in order to allow stuff to happen ... including nothing. One common thing that causes problems is the mind trying to gain control over your feelings, thus interfering with an important, authentic feedback process. That feedback is not so much for you as it is for the whole universe.

In praxis government is just another form of organized crime anyway. In that light, what we call "mafia" is merely a competitor on the governing market. -

The bar was set awfully low with Hillary Clinton, that's why Trump is the best the People can get. They are indicators of the work that people need to do among themselves on a grand scale but refuse to do. Too many mindslaves who are afraid of not having a master. People who protest the HRC revelations by whistleblowers are also implicitly opposing the same happening in the Trump administration. They are not celebrating it as a victory for the People, thus they are the same corrupt minds as HRC. They collude in crime. Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders did not become presidential candidates because of the widespread neglect of citizens' duties. Trump is the nemesis that needed to happen to fully reveal the extent of the special kind of madness that afflicts the political left. Now it is being escalated until it hopefully causes a fuse to blow, because in lack of a movement in the right direction this is the only cure. The suffering has to become so great that it breaks that madness in the mind and sets the heart free. Sadly this will cause tremendous collateral damage, but in an environment of massive denial and cowardice/convenience, to unmask a monster you have to allow it to act like a monster.
